PERSONAL
I awoke this morning to a 3 at 6:15am with only one interruption during 8+ hours of sleep. I took my am pills, noticed it was above freezing and settled into my chair for 4 massages and a little TV viewing. I checked out C-span, CNN, and the local news. No CNBC as the market is closed today. C-span was running a repeat of book notes with Ken Burns talking about his latest project, “National Parks” that was quite interesting. I did read the Labor Press and saw where my friend Al Panek was retiring on March 1st and will be replaced at Senator Wydens office. I know his replacement and I am sure she will do him a wonderful job also. I do wonder if he will continue reading my blog? I did also receive an email thank you from my cousin Brandee for assisting her efforts for The March of Dimes. Do you realize my blog is almost a half-year old?
POLITICAL
I saw Shaun Hannity, of Fox News, calling for a revolution during a time of war, does that constitute “Treason”? I also did see where our Senator Merkley was in the VP Chair as the Senate adjourned yesterday.
SPORTS
Blazers are back on a winning track, thanks to Minnesota. I have been invited to a number of keno tournaments that I am considering. If there are keno “tournaments”, does that not make keno a sport?

I awoke today at 6:30am to a 3, after 9 hours of sleep with only 1 interruption. I took my am pills and noticed a good frost on the deck and settled into my chair for 2 massages while I checked out C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news. I’ll have some short reports to follow, then I off to get into my “cast”. I did have it on yesterday for 6 hours and will try to do more today.
POLITICAL
Most of the News was on the B of A President being subpoenaed by the New York Attorney General and showing up on one of their 13-14 corporate jets from Charlotte. I guess after that recent crash in the Hudson it made him to nervous to fly commercial. North Dakota Senator Dorgan was already ranting on the Senate floor this morning. Apparently that B of A president was not watching when the car companies came to Washington a while back to testify for their bailout “needs”. CNBC had Kramer, along with many other republicans, ranting against the Obama recovery plan. They seem sure this is the first step on the slippery slope to “COMMUNISM”! CNBC’s Kramer even compared Obama to Lenin, and FOX’s Hannity was calling for a revolution! I’ve also seen the new rights at work ads for the Employee Free Choice Act and I think my first political donation for 2009 is being well spent.

Could the body cast be working?
PERSONAL
I awoke this morning at 6am to a 3- after 8 hours of sleep with only 1 interruption. I took my am pills and noticed a slight dusting of snow on the parked cars outside, it was below freezing and more snow was supposed to be on the way. I only had my cast on for 5 hours yesterday; I’ll try for longer today. I took 2 sessions in my chair and turned on the TV to see what’s up? It was only 9:15am back east so there was not much on C-span and CNBC was predicting the DOW would be up today. Before I came in her to prepare my post I saw the opening bell and it was up right away. You know my affinity for numbers; I saw it was up to 7333.73, HMMM? Marty stopped by and took me to pick up my new keno tickets and we watched a little golf together, that was nice and maybe I'm now close to 444.
POLITICAL
Keith and Rachel both had good shows last night. I especially liked Rachel’s interview of the Speaker of the House. I sure hope they don’t let those Bushies off the hook! I did also see Earl a couple of times yesterday and he did move his bicycle back to his left lapel.
SPORTS
It sure appears the Blazers don’t sleep well on the road. The PSU Vikings had a good night last night though. TIGERS BACK and he does not appear to have missed a beat.

Judi's SS started today......yeah.
PERSONAL
I awoke this morning at 5:45am to a 3 after almost 6 solid hours of sleep. I did get to send March of Dimes a couple of bucks for Brandee’s walk and I hope everyone that can, will, help also. The email request I received from Brandee got me thinking of that nasty ice storm in the late 70’s when Larry, Betsy, Amy and Brandee were, literally frozen in, in their house in Troutdale. It’s hard to believe that 2-foot tall, little girl is now walking for her little baby in this March of Dimes walk. Speaking of walks, don’t forget the MS walk in April, and thank you, 290 members for that nice donation last Friday night and brother Mike for agreeing to walk for me. I did get fitted for my removable upper body cast yesterday and actually had it on for over 7 hours. I am still concerned about whether I should do my sabbatical or just try to post before I put my cast on? Judi is now recieving Social Security, and I'm not the only one who can't believe she's old enough, hopefully I'm next.
POLITICAL
I watched the President’s address to both houses of congress last night, and the Republican response. I think the Daily Show with John Stewart pretty well summed up my own feelings about yesterday’s events. You could sure tell where the republicans were sitting, they were the ones still sitting during many of the two dozen plus standing ovations. Why did Earl change his plastic bicycle from his left to his right lapel?
SPORTS
Mike has convinced me that my keno playing is not a sport, but poker shows up all over the sports networks, so is it past time for another tournament? If I hear from my buddy Joe I would even send him a map. :-p

I'm going on sabbatical.
PERSONAL
I awoke today at 7:15am to a 3- after 8 hours of sleep. This morning I go to my NCA to get fitted for my removable upper body cast. My blog may be out of commission for a while so I will apologize now. I did see that my local union is donating to the MS walk. I hope that "Wally's Walkers" gets credit so they can get a t-shirt. I also have a second cousin that is walking in a March of Dimes fund raiser in memory of her lost baby. I will try to ad her website under community organizers.

PERSONAL
I awoke this morning at 6:45am to a 3- after 9+ hours of sleep, my vision was slow to get to a 5 range and my understandable TV volume setting worked at 12. I took my am pills and had 4 sessions in my chair and reviewed the talking heads on C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news. Reports to follow.
POLITICAL
C-span was covering the National Governors Conference, so I am taping it for later viewing, I did see Ted at the table and I looked for Kitz but I didn’t see him. The President and Vice President greeted them at the White House, and it appeared that Barack and Joe switched roles. Obama took a little shot at the Louisiana and South Carolina Governors, who have been all over cable attacking his plan, and Joe appeared as the placatory one. Based on those states past performances, I am not sure if they don’t like poor people or African Americans? Jindal, apparently, will take the recovery funds dedicated to levy repair because they ARE a Federal responsibility after all, but not any of the other dollars. My first look at the DOW showed it down a touch and OIL was still below $40 and GAS was just over $1.06. It seems the lines are forming here in Oregon for the next Governors race. I’ll have to get to the recording to see if Ted has a speaking part and if John is there?

Blazers played yesterday and what a game. 14 assists in the first quarter by Blake and it went down hill for Atlanta after that.

I awoke this morning at 7:15am to a 3- after about 10 hours of sleep. I took my am pills and settled into my chair to watch the talking heads on CBS’s Sunday Morning, NBC’s Meet the Press, and CBS’s Face the Nation, ABC’s This week and watch the replay, again, of Atlanta and the Blazers. Limited reports to follow. My vision was very good this morning (5+) and my hearing allowed the TV volume setting at 11. Who’s going to win the Oscar’s tonight? Judi and I watched the HBO movie “Taking Chance” with Kevin Bacon last night, and it was awesome. As an HBO movie, I guess it’s not eligible for an “Oscar” just an “Emmy”. Is that sexist? I’ll be rooting for Kate Winslet myself tonight.

The other big three, ABC, NBC, CBS, were being “fair and balanced” discussing the Federal Stimulus package with Governor’s. I thought Arnold did a good job, and on behalf of California, he would be glad to take Ohio’s and Louisiana’s portions. Jindal is only going to take the dollars to fix the levy’s, after all, it was the “Federal” government’s levy’s that failed during Katrina. Who was it in charge then?

Happy Birthday Marty!
PERSONAL
I am going to be changing the layout of my blog content, and reports slightly from now on. I think that with only a couple of exceptions no one will notice. I am still going to try to do my daily updates. Do you think I should update every morning and they will likely be shorter; or update in the evening and they MAY be longer? Most of my fodder comes from observations of the talking heads reported on by C-span, CNN, and CNBC Sunday through Friday and Saturday is generally uneventful unless it’s somebody’s birthday or something; Oh by the way, Happy Birthday Marty; I think I may try to save stuff up for a “Weekly-Monthly” wrap-up blog?
Yesterday was sure a busy day for me. I finally got in to see my Neurologist in the morning, I went to the bank and had Chinese for dinner. I walked my buns off yesterday but sure slept good last night and awoke to a 3+.
POLITICAL
Please call your Oregon Legislator and tell them something for me. The President could use some help on his stimulus and clean energy packages. First, on his stimulus package, there is a shovel ready project right now that will employ over 1,000 workers at the Oregon Coast, be a distribution point for “Clean” natural gas energy to help replace that coal fire plant they seem bent on closing up in Eastern Oregon. Based on the employment reports yesterday, and the budget shortages both Oregon and Washington have to deal with right now, this “PRIVATE SECTOR” investment would seem like a good deal. COME ON PEOPLE GET OFF YOUR BUTTS.

Suppliments are working
PERSONAL
I awoke this morning at about 7:15am to a solid 4 after 10 hours of sleep and with only one interruption. After my am pills and seeing a beautiful morning from the deck I settled into my chair for my early morning massage and review of the talking heads and latest news. My vision this morning was excellent and I set the TV volume all the way down to 9. It being a holiday there was a shortage of talking heads, but there was an interesting “American Greed” segment on CNBC about Pot and Mendocino California. I did look for some familiar faces but did not see any. I need to put together a good report for my NCA and let him know I think the added supplements are having a positive impact. Judi thinks I should order the back brace now that she is getting her SS. We did have an appointment with that TV SSI disability attorney last week and I already received a communication from SSI on reopening my disability claim. Judi and I did get out for lunch with Peggy today and that was nice. This has got to be close to my shortest Blog ever, sorry for the late posting.

Happy Valentines Day
PERSONAL
I awoke this morning at 5:45am to a 3+ after a good 9+ hours of sleep, thanks, I think because I remembered my extra supplements last night. Following my am pills, and observing it was again freezing on the deck and while enjoying four sessions on my chair, I did look for report fodder on the usual TV stations; C-span, CNN, CNBC, and the local news. I also got to review last nights Bill Moyers Journal and it was a very good one. He had an author on, Eric Rouchway, with a new book “The Great Depression and The New Deal”. It’s an excellent read I’m sure.
POLITICAL
C-span was repeating a House hearing from Wednesday that peaked my interest because the Ranking Member of this particular Subcommittee was our own Greg Walden. Based on his questions and comments, it appeared to me he must have changed his mind on “Deregulation”. I am not sure if my friend Lynn, or other prominent Teamsters changed his mind on deregulation but I am sure they are happy with his apparent change of heart. Book notes on C-span was replaying the December 7th 2008 memorial to Studs Terkel. He did live long enough to see Obama elected but he did not get the chance to see him sworn in.

I sure hope the all-star break gives Geg Oden enough time to recover from that knee banging he got the other night.

Barack's Lincoln addess, WOW!
PERSONAL
I awoke this morning at 6:15am to a 2+ and took my am pills and settled into my chair for 4 good massages and I reviewed what the networks were presenting, C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news for my reports that follow. I did get my flag up in celebration of my Dads 87th (Lefty’s) birthday. The thermometer read freezing, but there was no frost or snow around. I am blaming the 2+ on the fact I forgot the added supplements at bedtime last night.
POLITICAL
C-span was reporting on the recovery debate in both houses of congress and that was quite interesting. They were still complaining that what was proposed was not bipartisan. They were also complaining that eleven and a half hours did not give them enough time to read it. After all that would be almost a hundred pages and hour without help. And God knows, they must have help from their pastors or Rush or Fox News to read and understand that much. That one newly elected R from California was sure upset that after he did all that work to get to Congress no one would even consider his earmark, to get more water for his constituent’s, because of some fish. While I have not officially taken the Oregonian for quite some time, I did get news of an editorial they wrote on the LNG (clean energy) proposal. I will try to share it with everyone under community organizers so you can all get to work on it with me.

I think the Blazers started their road trip off on the wrong foot but I did not see all of it as I was watching Olbermans coverage of Barack’s speech at the Lincoln Dinner celebration. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABE!
PERSONAL 2/11/08
I awoke this morning at 7am to a 3+, after 10 hours of good sleep. The deck showed it was freezing but I had no snow or ice. I think my 10 hours of sleep and 3+ can be attributed to increasing my supplements to 8 a day, with the 2 added at bedtime. I did get to take Judi to dinner at the Pub, as I was sure the market finishing with 6-8’s was a sign, and I did want some chicken tenders and tater tots. Those 6-8’s didn’t come through for either Judi or I, maybe the power ball tonight? After 4 sessions on my chair and a review of C-span, CNN, CNBC, and the local news to prepare my reports I am at my workstation still at 3 plus. At first glimpse the DOW was up as was GASOLINE but OIL was down. That still dose not makes sense to me?
PERSONAL 2/12/08 Happy Birthday Abe!
I awoke this morning at 5:15am to a 2+, after 8+ hours of good sleep. The temperature on the deck was below 20 degree’s again today. I awoke at just a 2+ because, I think, I forgot the extra supplements at bedtime. Following my four sessions on my chair and a review of the normal TV stations I am at my workstation at 3+. My flag is up, is yours? I spoke with brother Marty this morning and we intend to meet for lunch before I see an attorney about my SSI Disability claim. The DOW was down again this morning at first look and I noticed it hit 7777.77 a couple of times, HMMMM. A trip to Salem coming up?
POLITICAL 2/11/08
Senator John Dingell of Michigan was being honored for his 53+ years in congress. Imagine that, as President Clinton so eloquently put it, Congressman Dingell has served with 25% of all the Presidents that have served this nation (AWESOME)!
I also watched Senator Boxer discussing the republican responses to the “Recovery” plan. They used a lot of the same arguments against President Clinton’ stimulus plan in 1991. It sure would be nice if the Obama plan could change this deficit into a surplus like he did. I think he will be doing just that.
POLITICAL 2/12/08
The republican’s are still claiming to be the only ones supporting the President and his “recovery” plan. Their idea of bipartisanship is the 3% blue dogs in the House trumps the 3% “R’s” in the Senate. You must “take my House plan” or you are not bipartisan.

I awoke this morning at 7am to a 3+, after 10 hours of good sleep. The deck showed it was freezing but I had no snow or ice. I think my 10 hours of sleep and 3+ can be attributed to increasing my supplements to 8 a day, with the 2 added at bedtime. I did get to take Judi to dinner at the Pub, as I was sure the market finishing with 6-8’s was a sign, and I did want some chicken tenders and tater tots. Those 6-8’s didn’t come through for either Judi or I, maybe the power ball tonight? After 4 sessions on my chair and a review of C-span, CNN, CNBC, and the local news to prepare my reports I am at my workstation still at 3 plus. At first glimpse the DOW was up as was GASOLINE but OIL was down. That still dose not makes sense to me?
PERSONAL 2/12/08 Happy Birthday Abe!
I awoke this morning at 5:15am to a 2+, after 8+ hours of good sleep. The temperature on the deck was below 20 degree’s again today. I awoke at just a 2+ because, I think, I forgot the extra supplements at bedtime. Following my four sessions on my chair and a review of the normal TV stations I am at my workstation at 3+. My flag is up, is yours? I spoke with brother Marty this morning and we intend to meet for lunch before I see an attorney about my SSI Disability claim. The DOW was down again this morning at first look and I noticed it hit 7777.77 a couple of times, HMMMM. A trip to Salem coming up?
POLITICAL 2/11/08
Senator John Dingell of Michigan was being honored for his 53+ years in congress. Imagine that, as President Clinton so eloquently put it, Congressman Dingell has served with 25% of all the Presidents that have served this nation (AWESOME)!
I also watched Senator Boxer discussing the republican responses to the “Recovery” plan. They used a lot of the same arguments against President Clinton’ stimulus plan in 1991. It sure would be nice if the Obama plan could change this deficit into a surplus like he did. I think he will be doing just that.
POLITICAL 2/12/08
The republican’s are still claiming to be the only ones supporting the President and his “recovery” plan. Their idea of bipartisanship is the 3% blue dogs in the House trumps the 3% “R’s” in the Senate. You must “take my House plan” or you are not bipartisan.

Merkley is a star !!
PERSONAL
I awoke this morning at 5:45am to a 2+. I took my am pills and noticed it was below freezing again and I had a light dusting of snow on the deck. I took my am pills and settled into my chair for 4 massages and turned on the TV to review the hot stories of the day on C-span, CNBC, CNN and the local news. Locally the news was about the snow and how traffic was moving on the freeways. Following my massages and noticing that the snow had accumulated to about a half inch on the deck, I am back at my workstation at a 3+ to prepare my reports. My first look at the DOW showed it was down over 100 points and OIL and GAS were up. C-span was beginning the debate on the recovery package and the proposed amendments. I hope all my relatives in Montana were watching as their Senator Max was managing the bill, and doing an admirable job. With the snow this morning I am going to have to call my NCA to cancel and reschedule. I hope there is no snow on Thursday, as I have an appointment with my Naturopath down the hill at Kaiser.
POLITICAL
As I said before, Senator Baucus was managing the “recovery” bill and doing a fine job. They will be voting later today with the amendments added, at least two of which were Republican amendments to get it to a filibuster proof 61 votes. Oh, did I forget to tell you, the Republican amendments added over 100 Billion dollars to the bill. At least those socialists at ACORN were removed and they won’t be using federal dollars to register voters. Imagine that; using government dollars to get people to participate in democracy, a definite socialist agenda.
I just watched the Senate pass the recovery bill. I think Jeff Merkley just became the most important Senator in the country. I know Gordon Smith, I liked Gordon Smith as a Senator and as a person. I supported Jeff Merkley in his bid for the United States Senate. At the time I did not anticipate this vote today. However, I did believe stopping the ability of the Republicans to calculate Oregon was a non-factor because our two Senators cancelled each other out was very important. Today, proved me, and others correct. I cannot say for sure how Senator Smith would have voted? Could the vote have been just 59 for passage? That would have been too much to risk.

Bill and Genie
PERSONAL
I awoke this morning at about 5:45am to a 2+ after a very good 10+ hours of sleep. Following my am pills, at which time I noticed it was below freezing again this morning, I settled into my chair for a couple of massages and tuned in to C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news. I am early at my workstation feeling 3+ with much to report. Sister Danni and some of her kids stopped by yesterday afternoon. Daniel and Trina brought by their newest addition, He was every bit of two handfuls for me, and while holding him I never had a single muscle spasm. I also got to finally meet niece Erin’s significant other. I did tell him I was a strong believer in the second amendment and he seemed to understand what I was saying. Niece Heidi also brought me her Christmas Presents for me. It was a wall hanging quilt she spent over a year making that I am sure anyone who sees it, will also love. Their visit definitely got me to a four plus.
My first look at the DOW showed it down 70+ points and OIL & GAS were both up. Watching the 60 minutes report last night on that Hudson River Landing sure made me glad to be an American; and a Union Member.
POLITICAL
It was too early to catch either the House or Senate on C-span but it seemed everyone was watching Barack boarding His helicopter to get a ride to Air Force One for a quick trip to Indiana to pitch his “Recovery” package.
It appears that most everybody in Salem is scrambling to find a place to put his or her portion of the Recovery Dollars. With Oregon as one of the leading states for the manufacturing of Solar Energy equipment stuff and Green Technology they probably should be at the front of the line for Federal dollars.
I’m sure Obama won’t hold it against them that they want to stop that clean energy facility, 10 year investment by the private sector, at the Oregon Coast and also that other facility up in Eastern Oregon.

Sports Illustrated Cover pages
PERSONAL
I awoke this morning to a 2+ after a good 10 hours of sleep. I took my am pills and noticed we were below freezing with a lot of fog and I had 4 sessions in my chair while I watched some of the morning talking heads on C-span, CNBC, CBS, ABC etcetera. Reports to follow. I did not make it over to sister Danni’s for Samantha’s Birthday party yesterday so I will give her a Happy Birthday shout out to her now.
POLITICAL
C-span had Chuck Todd on touting his new book, “How Barack Obama Won”. For all you political junkies, I believe it will be a good read. For all you book junkies “Sunday Morning” was superb. The piece about Walter Looss, the Sports Illustrated Photographer, was also pretty special. A copy I should get for my nephew, not just for the swimsuit pieces, but I have a picture of him that would fit right in to his book.
SPORTS
I am going to hunt for the Looss book of SI cover pages and I will report on my success in a future SPORTS section. I am also going to watch Golf today to see if Michaelson was able to straighten out his drive?

Republican obstructionism

I awoke at 5am to a 2+, after 7+ hours of a good sleep. I took my am pills and noticed the rain had started and it was above freezing on the deck. Following 4 sessions in my chair and a review of C-span, CNN, CNBC, and the local news I removed myself to my workstation to prepare my February 6 reports. Did you know February 6th is more than just one week from my dads 87th birthday? My first look at the DOW showed it was up over 8200, OIL was down to under $ 40.00 but GAS was still over $ 1.24.

I did watch yesterday’s Metro meeting on TV and I came to a number of conclusions. The first one is, the Metro Council’s continued snubbing of the building trades sure makes me long for the day’s of Rena Cusma. The testimony given by both Ed Barnes and Lynn Lehrbach was very good, but it seemed obvious to me, the Council was not looking for the perspective of Organized Labor, but it did not want to PO Trimet or WDOT.
Could someone tell me what Metro has accomplished in 30+ years without the aid of Organized labor?
Councilor Liberty sure would like to get more stop signs on 82nd Avenue.
It appears Vancouver and SW Washington have gotten over the fear that Light Rail will bring all those Gang members over from North Portland.
When do adding 12 lanes that gets down to three or four, clear up a bottleneck?
The Republicans are not only bragging about being obstructionists in Washington, they are trying to perfect that roll.
When is making an inaccurate statement, then repeating it, not just an inaccurate statement, but a lie?

More money for Wall Street ?

I awoke this morning at 5am to a 2- after 8 hours of sleep. I took my am pills and had 2 sessions in my chair and reviewed the TV lineup, C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news. It was apparently too early for much of anything to report. C-span was running a repeat of Senator Dodd’s committee hearing yesterday on federal regulation and oversight, or the lack thereof, which got us into this need for a “recovery”. The DOW and OIL are down, and GAS is up; go figure? According to sister Dannette; Daniel and Trina have brought their new addition home.
POLITICAL
C-span to day picked up the Senate debate on the “recovery” package. Maybe it’s just because I used to be a “pillar”, but hearing the republicans demanding their “amendments” to the bill be included because they represent over 40% of America is laughable. For starters, their standard bearer, John McCain had an amendment. His “amendment” replaced the bill being considered with his (the republican) bill, totally. Yes, you heard right, the A%%&*#+ (that led the republicans to the worst political party defeat ever) believes that all the money thrown at Wall Street to date was not enough. They appear to be miss interpreting those polls that show over 40% of Americans do not like the proposed “recovery plan”. I am also not happy with the “recovery” plan. I am not happy because it gives some more money to Wall Street, even though it’s not as much as those republicans in the House and the Senate want to give them.

The DOW and OIL are down, and GAS is up; go figure? According to sister Dannette; Daniel and Trina have brought their new addition home.
POLITICAL
C-span to day picked up the Senate debate on the “recovery” package. Maybe it’s just because I used to be a “pillar”, but hearing the republicans demanding their “amendments” to the bill be included because they represent over 40% of America is laughable. For starters, their standard bearer, John McCain had an amendment. His “amendment” replaced the bill being considered with his (the republican) bill, totally. Yes, you heard right, the A%%&*#+ (that led the republicans to the worst political party defeat ever) believes that all the money thrown at Wall Street to date was not enough. They appear to be miss interpreting those polls that show over 40% of Americans do not like the proposed “recovery plan”. I am also not happy with the “recovery” plan. I am not happy because it gives some more money to Wall Street, even though it’s not as much as those republicans in the House and the Senate want to give them.

Congratulations Daniel and Trina
PERSONAL
I awoke this morning at about 6:15am to 2+ after 9+ hours of good sleep. I took my am pills noticed it was below freezing again this morning but the clear skies would surely bring us a wonderful sunrise later. I then retired to my chair for a few massages and a review of the TV talking heads. The Republican repeat gang apparently got their orders to use the phrase “common sense” as much as possible today, and they all seemed in compliance.

At about 11am my time the house passed the S-chip bill. While the House R’s complained that they did not have the ability to amend this bill, even though the reauthorization of S-chip passed both Houses and was ultimately vetoed by Bush; twice. Without Bush to veto it, apparently they (R’s) wanted to add, that good ole Republican standby, one they must have for the laws of the land……….Nevermind !

Economic Recovery !

I awoke this morning at about 5am to a 2+, after 9+ hours of good sleep. After my morning pills and 2 sessions in my chair I am back here to prepare my early post at 3+. It is an early post so I can share my good news from yesterday. I did peruse the usual stations, C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news but the market is not open yet and neither house is in session. On to the good news; Sister Danni is a grandmother again, which makes me a great uncle again, and SIL Deb and brother Mike are still at home resting and recuperating and I’m sure Cody is taking good care of both of them.

Middle Class task force & Happy BD Peg.
PERSONAL
I awoke at about 4am this morning to a 2+ after a good 8 hours of sleep. That is pretty good considering all the excitement my sister-in-law caused us all Saturday. The good news is, she is at home now and I’m sure Mike and Cody are taking very good care of her. I took my am pills this morning, had 4 sessions in my chair, and watched the early morning talking heads. Most of the talking heads today were talking about the “Super Bowl” party at Barack’s house yesterday. Do you suppose they had a board? I never did get to see what scores I had, but my FFB QB sure did come through. What an awesome game! Today is sister-in-law Peggy’s Birthday and I’m going to try to get out for lunch with her and Judi.

Barney Frank was on one of the talking heads shows yesterday talking about the recovery program along with a Republican Senator. The Senator was “demanding” the democrats share the recovery program with the republicans, so they can “share” it with their constituent’s and the American people. Even though the Senator did not listen to Mr. Frank, when the Congressman told him and us that it was on line already he was still complaining. He must have figured those darn “internet pipes” were blocked to republicans.

A strong middle class = a strong America
The mortgage crisis. Wall Street. The loss of millions of jobs. In this economic crisis, the middle class is getting hit from all angles.
That’s why the President created a Middle Class Task Force and asked his right hand man, Vice President Joe Biden, to lead it.
The Vice President lays out the goals of the Task Force in an op-ed appearing this morning in USA Today, which you can find on the Task Force’s new site.
Even though the middle class has been pummeled by this crisis, there are steps we can take to make sure the recovery doesn’t just benefit the wealthy, like past expansions. This time around, we’re going to grow the middle class, improve quality of life, and expand the American dream to millions of people who have shouldered the costs of our economy but not reaped its gains.
So take a look at the new website of the White House Task Force on Middle Class Working Families to learn more, and be sure to leave your comments and ideas.
