COULD E.F.C.A. HAVE HELPED PREVENT THOSE MINE DISASTERS?

PERSONAL

I awoke today at 5:45am after 8+hrs of sleep to a 3 with some lower back pain. I took my am pills. And put out my flag. I also put on my upper body cast about 7am. I am still going to try to put together MY primary endorsement list for next months primary, with a short explanation of why. You will not see a Republican endorsed, mostly because I will be voting in the Democratic Primary and if you have been following my blog you should know my feelings for Republicans right now. I did make it to Salem for the Workers Memorial Day observance, and that was quite the trip. I will be batching it until Saturday night as Judi is taking a trip to Pendleton to accompany Mary. I am going to try to get down to the Kitzhaber H.Q. and get a sign for the yard. I also have 2 3-some starting times for Sunday; 2pm and 2:07 and there are still a couple of spots open, for good Wally Catchers.

DANIEL IS ACTUALLY HOME SAFELY NOW, AND NEPHEWS CHRISTOPHER AND RHYON ARE BOTH IN AFGHANISTAN,PLEASE KEEP THEM IN YOUR PRAYERS.

I did go to the store and get a hair treatment for my “military” haircut, I will try it today, and I sure hope it works.

Cousin Larry Pahut is running for Justice of the Peace in Deer Lodge County. That would be a picture of his grandfather there on the right, John L. Monahan, L for Larry? . His sister, Patty Ann Sullivan is his Campaign Manager and we became face book friends. I actually did send him a check, and saw that it had been cashed and would ask all to give what they can. (campaign H.Q. Are 400 Spruce, Anaconda, Montana 59711) I also heard from his sister Carol Marie and it appears that she and Tom are doing well, he must be getting close to retirement also.

We have a health care bill and the president signed it before Easter Sunday. The republicans are lining up to take him and every other Democrat and some Republicans on, on it. I still believe that it will put an exclamation point on the Easter season with the statement, “I AM MY BROTHERS KEEPER”.

God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day, And when it comes to my last cast, I then must humbly pray. When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep, that in His mercy, I be judged............Good enough to keep.

My daily prayer, is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear OUR prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, for the safe return of nephews Rhyon and Christopher from Afghanistan; all those families suffering from those mine disasters in West Virginia and Kentucky, cousin Larry Pahut in his endeavor to become the Deer Lodge County Justice of the Peace; and all in need. We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”
Thank You, Mother Mary, for your help and assistance, especially for BRINGING DANIEL HOME SAFELY; for Brandee, whose pregnancy is going well; and now those, NOW covered with Health Care.I know I have been repeating things, maybe too much, on my blog; but some of this stuff I need to be reminded of and some of this stuff others need to be reminded of.

LDN and AMP REPORT

This is my attempt to keep track of my experiences with my LDN treatment for my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the 4.5mg, I think I'm noticeably better. I am experiencing better days and now that I'm doing the new dosage I am seeing a marked change. I have now been on that brand new FDA approved pill, Aminopyridine, even though I missed a few times, and I am very pleased. It is supposed to be good for “gait” issues, even those with primary progressive. I still have to check up on that new pill (AMPYRA). My B.P. is 128/88/59 at 9:15am.

WELCOME HOME DANIEL!

LARRY PAHUT FOR DEER LODGE COUNTY JUSTICE OF THE PEACE.

Yes, I am a fan of and supporter of , Tom Margraf for Multnomah County Commission. His experience in getting things done for and with other Elected es and Communities would be an invaluable asset for the County. IT'S TIME FOR TOM !

I did send an email and got a response from the Cheryl Myers campaign reminding them that we have a good location for a couple of lawn signs. They were in the neighborhood yesterday as I saw my neighbor down the street had 2 up in their yard. I am also going to try to make their BBQ canvas on Saturday at Happy Valley Park. I am also going to try to get over to the Kitzhaber H.Q. Today and get one from him also.

One of the most consistent elected officials supporting the Columbia River Crossing has been Rex Burkholder, help him out if you can, that other guy's "vision" of a new bridge would probably have 10-12 Bike lanes. Send REX some help at METRO, in the form of Duke Sheppard. Earl Blumenhauer, has been there for us also and he did look and sound very good on the Big Ed Show. I will get a check off as soon as I can; Representative Kurt Schrader, Representative Peter Defazio, I think right now anyway, need to be sent back to congress also.

Don't forget to respond to the census as there are 37 governors elections this year and we can't let them Gerrymander congressional districts and end up like we did in the 90's. Ours is in the mail. One of those 37 is right here in Oregon and I'm sure, keeping a Democrat in the Governors Mansion is Paramount. One that actually believes in JOBS.

The Building Trades did, and I am, endorsing John Kitzhaber for Governor. Now that Health Care passed congress and with us having a Dr. in the Governors Mansion it should be an advantage for Oregon. His campaign H.Q. Is over at SE 30th and Division and could use some bodies and supplies. It's also time to get your lawn signs up. I did get a preview of his commercial and I thought it was very well done. Is that Jim Moss in it?

That other candidate, in his ad, he says he wants to get Oregon rolling again but he is against good Oregon Jobs, Union Jobs that pay a prevailing wage and already have health care. I was really sorry to see that he had the support of Howard Dean and the D.F.A.; well they just made my spam list.

I haven't changed my mind that ALL that health care “controversy” that was being generated was to take the publics mind off of the Employee Free Choice Act, American Rights at Work, “card check” legislation. I do believe passage of the E.F.C.A. might have made quite a difference in both the West Virginia, and Kentucky accidents. I also heard that that a$$&*$# company owner in West Virginia refused to allow UNION MINORS to try to help.

I still don't know yet, if the “soft landing” bill is done but that is one issue I will keep harping on until I am sure. I did see Rons Labor Liason at the Workers Memorial function but missed my opportunity to ask her. I did hear from Senator Murray from Washington, and it did sound like she was working on a piece of the soft landing bill, John was at the Legislative Conference and I asked him to ask Ron about the soft landing bill. I also received a communication and responded as follows to Senator Wyden on his work on the Health Care Bill.

Ron;
Thank you for your hard work. I am still waiting to find out if the exchanges help or hurt my current Union Health Care Plan. Also, I am still trying to find out if "The Soft Landing Bill" is complete at the federal level.
All my Best;
William "Wally" Mehrens

Did you know that there were more vets that died last year because they didn't have health care, than died in both the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars? I was really surprised that I didn't hear anyone point that out in the debates that I saw.

Being this is the last day of April, and with all the rain we had this past month, we should have flowers galore this month.

Did you know that we had a President of the United States that claimed “Tree's” caused more pollution than automobiles, can you guess which one?

Whether you attend a church service, a Mosque, GLBT gathering, or Synagogue service, please say a prayer that God; yours, mine or ours; keeps our service men and women in the Palm of their hand.

My exiting trip to Salem yesterday began about 10-15 miles north of Salem. The cowling under my front bumper came loose and fell to just about a 1/2 inch above the pavement. My last 10-15 miles I did not travel over 40mph which got me to the function just as it was ending and the clouds opened up and dumped a bunch of rain. Those poor bagpipers got drenched. Thanks to STEVE LANNING with the State Fed I got directions to the local Chrysler dealer and they fixed me right up. ROBERTSON CHRYSLER JEEP, and they actually DID help me drive home happy.

MOURN FOR THE DEAD AND FIGHT LIKE HELL FOR THE LIVING

PERSONAL

I awoke today at 6:45am after 8+hrs of sleep to a 3-, with a little lower back pain. I took my am pills. And put out my flag. I will be very short and repetitive today as I am heading out to Salem for the Workers Memorial Day observance. I want o be there for Daniel because 2 of the 58 were his mates from Iraq and will be honored. I have kept that good old Irish saying and an Irish Funeral Prayer in my “Other Stuff” section in honor of this Day.

“MOURN FOR THE DEAD AND FIGHT LIKE HELL FOR THE LIVING”.

DANIEL IS ACTUALLY HOME SAFELY NOW, AND NEPHEW CHRISTOPHER LEFT THIS MORNING FOR AFGHANISTAN.

I did go to the barber and got a “military” haircut for Daniels Demobilization Ceremony. It's not quite a Gibbs (NCIS) cut but it is short, and with only one exception everyone likes it too.

Cousin Larry Pahut is running for Justice of the Peace in Deer Lodge County,. That would be a picture of his grandfather there on the right, John L. Monahan, L for Larry? . His sister, Patty Ann Sullivan is his Campaign Manager and we became face book friends. I actually did send him a check and would ask all to give what they can. (campaign H.Q. Everything remains as it was. The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.

WELCOME HOME DANIEL!

I did get my U.A. Journal and there is still time for Michael R. to get his scholarship application in, and they had notice of a Chuck England scholarship golf Tourney in Las Vegas, hmmmm.

Did you know that we had a President of the United States that claimed “Tree's” caused more pollution than automobiles.

OH JOHNNY, OH JOHNNY, OH JOHNNY OH!

PERSONAL

I awoke today at 6:45am after 8+hrs of sleep to a 3+, with a little lower back pain. I took my am pills. And put out my flag. I never did find a “Wally Catcher” yesterday so no golf but I did take Judi to dinner last night, and while mine was very good they didn't get anything right on her order. I will try to get that picture up on the Blog today but Danni did tell me she got it. I do plan on posting it around the Yellow Ribbon Section.

If some of you are wondering about my headline it is a song My Aunt Mernie loved singing around the campfire etc. She passed a while back on this day and she is, I'm sure, singing it to Babs right now. I have added a good old Irish saying and an Irish Funeral Prayer in my “Other Stuff” section. President “AOH” Bill, she was the one who called me from Anaconda, I think, to get on board as a “Charter Member” of the reconstituted AOH here in Portland.

WELCOME HOME DANIEL! HE IS ACTUALLY HOME NOW.

I did go to the barber and got a “military” haircut for Daniels Demobilization Ceremony. It's not quite a Gibbs (NCIS) cut but it is short, and with only one exception everyone likes it too.

Cousin Larry Pahut is running for Justice of the Peace in Deer Lodge County. That would be a picture of his grandfather there on the right, John L. Monahan, L for Larry? . His sister, Patty Ann Sullivan is his Campaign Manager and we became face book friends. I actually did send him a check and would ask all to give what they can. (campaign H.Q. Are 400 Spruce, Anaconda, Montana 59711) I also heard from his sister Carol Marie and it appears that she and Tom are doing well.

Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, for the safe return of nephew Rhyon in Afghanistan, nephew Christopher who I think is headed for Afghanistan, All those families suffering from that mine disaster in West Virginia, cousin Larry Pahut in his endeavor to become the Deer Lodge County Justice of the Peace; Aunt Mernie on the anniversary of her passing, and all in need. We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”
Thank You, Mother Mary, for your help and assistance, especially for BRINGING DANIEL HOME SAFELY; for Brandee, whose pregnancy is going well; and now those, NOW covered with Health Care.

I know I have been repeating things, maybe too much, on my blog; but some of this stuff I need to be reminded of and some of this stuff others need to be reminded of.

My B.P. is ( 128/83/58) at 10:45am, I hope it makes my Doctors happy.

One of the most consistent elected officials supporting the Columbia River Crossing has been Rex Burkholder, help him out if you can. Send him some help at METRO, in the form of Duke Sheppard.

Now that Health Care passed congress and us having a Dr. in the Governors Mansion should be an advantage for Oregon. His campaign H.Q. Is over at SE 30th and Division and could use some bodies and supplies. It's also time to get your lawn signs up. I did get a preview of his first commercial and I thought it was very well done.

That other candidate in his ad says he wants to get Oregon rolling again but he is against good Oregon Jobs, Union Jobs that pay a prevailing wage and already have health care.

I do believe passage of the E.F.C.A. might have made quite a difference in that West Virginia, accident. I also heard that that a$$&*$# company owner refused to allow UNION MINORS to try to help.

I still don't know yet, if the “soft landing” bill is done but that is one issue I will keep harping on until I am sure. I did hear from Senator Murray from Washington, and it did sound like she was working on a piece of the soft landing bill, John was at the Legislative Conference and I asked him to ask Ron about the soft landing bill. I also received a communication and responded to Senator Wyden on his work on the Health Care Bill.

Ron;
Thank you for your hard work. I am still waiting to find out if the exchanges help or hurt my current Union Health Care Plan. Also, I am still trying to find out if "The Soft Landing Bill" is complete at the federal level.
All my Best;
William "Wally" Mehrens

Did you know that there were more vets that died last year because they didn't have health care, than died in both the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars? I was really surprised that I didn't hear anyone point that out in the debates that I saw.

I awoke today at 7am after 8+hrs of sleep to a 3+, with a little lower back pain and a little headache. I took my am pills. And put out my flag. We drove over to Heidi's House Warming B.B.Q. At the 11th Hour, on the 11th Day, of the 11th Month a cease fire was signed to end the war to end all wars in 1918. How's that worked out so far? Did anyone else notice that the health care bill passed at 11:11 am?

SPORTS

There IS going to be another round for the Blazers, and you heard it here first, send out all the good vibes you can tonight. I sure hope the NBA starts getting consistent officiating; That CHEAP SHOT that Amare took at Lemarcus definitely was worthy of a suspension.

It's MLB Time, Hey Chicago, what do ya say, go Cubs go, Cubs gonna win today!

And yes Mark, I will check the Mariners schedule and try to pick a game for us to meet up.

Go Orioles, and Peter have your people keep an eye on that Mehrens kid that should be playing on Jackie Robinson Field down in Pasadena.

Did you know that we had a President of the United States that claimed “Tree's” caused more pollution than automobiles, and it's probably not the one you think.

Whether you attend a church service, a Mosque, GLBT gathering, or Synagogue service, please say a prayer that God; yours, mine or ours; keeps our service men and women in the Palm of their hand.

Mike; My blog is just over 4 pages today and under 2,000 words, I think. I'll see you next time on my blog.

TREE'S CAUSE MORE POLLUTION THAN CARS

PERSONAL

I awoke today at 6:15am after 8+hrs of sleep to a 3+. I took my am pills. And put out my flag.
The Demobilization Ceremony for our Guard Troops at the Chiles Center at the U. of P. was an unbelievable Ceremony. I did have a good visit with Daniel and family. I did also hear from John M. and he sent me a picture and a toast. I received and forwarded a message from Patty Murray about taking care of our soldiers. I did sound like Senator Wyden's if the “Soft Landing Bill”. I also found the opening ceremony of the National Building Trades Conference and as a speaker Mark Shields was great, and I have to say that V.P. Joe Biden's opening speech was awesome too.

WELCOME HOME DANIEL! HE IS ACTUALLY HOME NOW.

I did go to the barber last Wednesday and got a “military” haircut for Daniels Demobilization Ceremony. It's not quite a Gibbs (NCIS) cut but it is short, and with only one exception everyone likes it too. Cousin Larry Pahut is running for Justice of the Peace in Deer Lodge County, that would be a picture of his grandfather there on the right, John L. Monahan, L for Larry? . His sister, Patty Ann Sullivan is his Campaign Manager and we became face book friends. I actually did send him a check and would ask all to give what they can. (campaign H.Q. Are 400 Spruce, Anaconda, Montana 59711)
We have a health care bill and the president signed it before Easter Sunday. The republicans are lining up to take him on, on it.

My daily prayer, is to Mary Mother of God…..”O MostBlessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear OUR prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, for the safe return of nephew Rhyon in Afghanistan, nephew Christopher who I think is headed for Afghanistan, All those families suffering from that mine disaster in West Virginia, cousin Larry Pahut in his endeavor to become the Deer Lodge County Justice of the Peace; and all in need.

My B.P. is ( 127/80/62) at 3:45pm, I hope it makes my Doctors happy.

POLITICAL

I planned on adding a new section on April 1st for my own comments on personal issues; WELCOME HOME DANIEL!, maybe some Irish issues, Daniel IS Irish? Did you know some of the first victims of the K.K.K. In Oregon were Irish Catholics.

LOCAL

WELCOME HOME DANIEL!

LARRY PAHUT FOR DEER LODGE COUNTY JUSTICE OF THE PEACE.

Yes, I am a fan of and supporter of , Tom Margraf for Multnomah County Commission. His experience in getting things done for and with other Elected es and Communities would be an invaluable asset for the County. IT'S TIME FOR TOM !

One of the most consistent elected officials supporting the Columbia River Crossing has been Rex Burkholder, help him out if you can. Send him some help at METRO, in the form of Duke Sheppard.

Now that Health Care passed congress and us having a Dr. in the Governors Mansion it should be an advantage for Oregon. His campaign H.Q. Is over at SE 30th and Division and could use some bodies and supplies. It's also time to get your lawn signs up. I did get a preview of his first commercial and I thought it was very well done.

I haven't changed my mind that ALL that health care “controversy” that was being generated was to take the publics mind off of the Employee Free Choice Act, American Rights at Work, “card check” legislation. I do believe passage of the E.F.C.A. might have made quite a difference in that West Virginia, accident. I also heard that that a$$&*$# company owner refused to allow UNION MINORS to try to help.

I still don't know yet, if the “soft landing” bill is done but that is one issue I will keep harping on until I am sure. I did hear from Senator Murray from Washington, and it did sound like she was working on a piece of the soft landing, John was at the Legislative Conference and I asked him to ask Ron about the soft landing bill.

Did you know that there were more vets that died last year because they didn't have health care, than died in both the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars? I was really surprised that I didn't hear anyone point that out in the debates that I saw.

YELLOW RIBBON SECTION

Go to http//www.VVMFCenter.org – they are collecting dollars for an education center at “The Wall”, Washington D.C.'s Vietnam Veterans Memorial, help if you can.

WELCOME HOME DANIEL, ISN'T IT NICE TO SLEEP IN YOUR OWN BED.

HURRY HOME AND BE SAFE RHYON.

Larry Roberta, a reclusive Aumsville veteran whose story of health problems from hexavalent chromium exposure in The Oregonian alerted his fellow soldiers, most of whom live between Forest Grove, McMinnville and Gresham. Roberta's testimony before the Oregon Legislature last year helped create a fund for soldiers who develop cancer as a result of this exposure, and if you noticed I now have a follower with the same name. Roberta, 44, has also launched the Web site www.qarmat-ali-vets.com, which includes a logo of an orange ribbon with a skull and crossbones., is the one that all with friends and family in Iraq, should visit.

"WE ARE THE SPINE OF THE NATION", per V.P. Joe Biden

PERSONAL

I awoke today at 6am after 8+hrs of sleep to a 3+. I took my am pills. And put out my flag. I did meet up with a guy that was playing golf with a removable back brace and he said he got it after he had some back problems and he did think it helped his game, maybe I'll try it next time.
The M.S. Walk was great except for that A$$%^& on his bike that ripped off Taylors Balloon. Based on my observations Saturday those that peddle their Bikes are bigger jerks than ANY Cycle (HARLEY etc.) rider I ever met, and I have met quite a few, Are you reading this Earl?

Tomorrow is the Demobilization Ceremony for our Guard Troops at the Chiles Center at the U. of P. and I am ready. Yes that's right they changed the date and the place. I did speak to Daniel this morning and he sounded really good. I did give John M. a call this morning and left him a message, and asked him to ask Senator Wyden if the “Soft Landing Bill” is complete. I also found the opening ceremony of the National Building Trades Conference yesterday on C-Span's website and I have to say that V.P. Joe Biden's opening speech was awesome. I will go back to the website to resume watching. The site is
http://www.cspan.org/Watch/Media/2010/04/19/HP/A/31963/AFLCIO+Building+and+Construction+Trades+Dept+2010+Legislative+Conference.aspx and I will be watching for the address by Senator Merkley as I think he is scheduled for today.

The Building Trades did, and I am, endorsing John Kitzhaber for Governor, I am not sure if you caught the news yesterday on the excitement at the Governors Debate in Eugene and the man that had some sort of seizure and Dr. John jumped into his E.R. Mode, when someone yelled from the audience is there a Doctor in the House, and now that Health Care passed congress and having a Dr. in the Governors Mansion it should be an advantage for Oregon. His campaign H.Q. Is over at SE 30th and Division and could use some bodies and supplies. It's also time to get your lawn signs up.

Brandon Roy is sure in awesome company for the Trailblazers, in the number of All Star selections and the way he plays. I hope his surgery goes well, because there IS going to be another round for the Blazers, and you heard it here first. I wished the playoffs started already, and they did: FROM PHOENIX -- Andre Miller scored 15 points in the fourth quarter and tied his career playoff high with 31 points as the short-handed Portland Trail Blazers stole home court advantage from Phoenix with a 105-100 victory over the Suns on Sunday night.
