I awoke this morning at 4:30am to a 3- after about 7 hours of sleep. It was a 3- because I had three of my “patented” aneurisms, before bed last night. It must be why my vision and hearing were also a little off this morning, but I’m all 5x4 now. I felt bad about not making my local unions contract vote Sunday but I understand it did pass, and based on what I heard about it I’m not sure if I’d have been in the 75% or 25% group. The 75% group I guess because, as I understand it, the Committee recommended it, and aside from the negotiating committee being big, it was also diverse. I also found out last night that Judi’s MS walk is on Cousin Jim’s Birthday. He is not sure but he also may be a Grandpa by then. Ahh, the spring Dew is a coming.

POLITICAL

I listened to Arlen Spector of Pennsylvania talking about the Presidents Budget and as I understand it, there are two ways to present it. One needs a majority in the Senate (51) votes and the other needs (60). He seemed pretty sure he could keep the "NO" party together and maybe even pick up enough Democrats to get to 51 or even 60. He also has said he was for workers rights not too long ago, and he was lying then, so I don’t think we should believe him now.

Is there a viable Labor Party in Oregon? What is a Blue Dog democrat? Is it just someone who say’s, I want democrat voters support when they vote, I just don’t want to have to vote with them when I get my “big” office.

SPORTS

Blazers tonight, it should be a good one.

I have received a lot of information on “how to” play fantasy baseball but I’m still looking foe a place to join that’s FREE.

This is one of the books I spoke about yesterday, It was a good enough read I downloaded it and printed it out. I don’t care what they said, Dads move to first, it was not an illegal move.

MY NEW SECTION

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 7:15am to a 3, after another good 10 hours of sleep. I took my am pills and noticed it was a clear although cool temp on the deck. I went to my chair and did 4 massages while I perused my regular TV stations, C-span, CNN, CNBC, and the local news for blog fodder. Reports to follow. While I was sitting there I decided to add a new WEEKLY section, (HERO’S) which, I hope, will be entertaining for everyone. I do really like being on face book, but I am sure it will take a while to get acclimated and I'm sure it will increase my time back here at the computer. After the Presidents little speech this morning I have even decided that maybe buying a new car for Judi is a good idea. (American Hybrid) I definitely do not want to give up my Chrysler and Judi even suggested maybe some hand controls are in order? My first look at the DOW showed it down to just over 7500 and OIL & GAS were both down. The CNBC Wall Street talking heads were raising a ruckus about that proposed 2-3% tax increase on those MAKING over $250,000, Are Greed and Selfishness, synonyms? It will be interesting to see the differences in the responses on the disaster facing Fargo N.D. and the responses in the aftermath of Katrina. Is it somewhat eerie that it is the RED river threatening North Dakota? They tell me sometime in May may be my SSID breakthrough.

POLITICAL

My first look at C-span had the President speaking from the White House on the economy, with a long lineup of cabinet people. C-span Senate has started the debate on the Presidents Budget and Kent Conrad of N.D. was taking the good guy position and Judd Gregg was taking the bad guy position. I still can’t believe Barack considered him for his cabinet.

SPORTS

While I am sure it was way too cold and way too wet the weekend baseball series between the Ducks and the Beavers did bring out the crowds at PGE Park.

I hope, cousin Bob and President Obama aren’t mad at me for being a Cubs fan, after all it is Chicago.

If the bell works? Do the fingers?

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning about 7am to a 3, it was dry but brisk outside. I took my am pills and settled into my chair and set the tapes for the talking heads and some sports. I took Judi to dinner last night at the Pub, it was really a bribe to get my Powerball and Keno tickets, but still nice to get out for a few hours and the food and service was very good. After we got home, while sitting on my back deck I made a call, from memory, to my Aunt in Montana and we had a really nice talk. It appeared that most of her family was out snow-cating, but most of the news from her was good. But I did find out that the Montana phone system still has not been modernized. It still appears the bells ring to receive a call but the buttons don’t work to make one. (Well, I guess that’s not just a problem with Montana bell; maybe it’s a genetic condition?) Isn’t it wonderful we live in this age of instant communication? One good thing is, online we have a delete button, the bad thing is, when in person or on the phone we don’t. I think I’m going to add another section of this publication, as my Community Organizer section is getting pretty repetitive.

POLITICAL

In my conversation with my Aunt I told her of my and Judi’s differences going into the last election. We both started with different candidates but did eventually come around to the winner. I told her, that after I made my decision to support Barack I found that Video on the Montana Standard that had his speech in Butte. Seeing that Video proved to me that he not only would, but could, be a great President.

The Blazers are back on track, and I still have not yet joined a fantasy baseball league, yet.

No more Home Depot !

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning to a 3, after 10 hours of good sleep. I took my am pills and settled into my chair for 4 good massages and watched the tape of Bill Moyers Journal last night and his show was great again. I will try to put a link on under community organizers. It’s too bad for me, because I really used to like them, but I will never shop at Home Depot again, if you watch the Journal you will know why. I am going to be short today as I plan on an outing for a little while, it is Saturday after all. I have actually successfully joined “facebook” and that will surely increase my time here at my computer.

POLITICAL

I’ve listed this book by William Greider; COME HOME AMERICA: THE RISE AND FALL (AND REDEEMING PROMISE) OF OUR COUNTRY, Moyers Guest and his book, at least I, think worth reading.

KENO TIME - 444

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 7:45am to a 3+, after 10+ hours of good sleep. My vision was 5+ and the volume setting on my TV was 11. I remembered my am pills and settled into my chair for 4 good massages and tuned in my regular channels for viewing; C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news for the blog fodder that follows. My first report here is on that wonderful dinner last night and the superb haircut I received from Debbie. When she was done last night, I was astounded by the amount of gray in my clippings on the deck. Even more astounding was this morning when I went out on the deck for my 1st cigarette. It was really cold out there. While Judi is still waiting for my ponytail, I think the short hair will hurry me along to becoming a non-smoker like her (brrr). I was also told I am being granted SSI Disability, I’ll believe that when it hits the bank.

POLITICAL

Not much happening on C-span this morning but the cuz’s in Montana can be proud of Max Baucus, I listened to a good speech on health care from him this morning.

The Cubbies and Sox game today should be a good one and Tiger should make some noise in Arnold’s tourney today.

Vitter is Bitter, and in hiding?

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 7am, to a 3-, after a good 9 hours of sleep. I did remember to take my am pills this morning and settled into my chair for a couple of massages and checked for fodder on my TV at C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news. The House and Senate on C-span 1&2 gave me some more good fodder I will report on later. Brother Mike and sister-in-law Debbie are supposed to come by tonight and she will give me a haircut and I hope the weather is nice enough that we can do it on the back deck. I am going to try to post by 10am so I can get a good 5 hours in my cast before Mike and Debbie come by so my report may be a little short today. Judi was helpful enough yesterday to get me “plumbed up”, and I may be able to start using my space book page. I am a little late because Jeannie came by and picked up Judi to take her to check out the facilities for Bill's service, and I needed a hug.

POLITICAL

Our friend Bill’s service will be Friday April 3rd at noon at St Johns Catholic Church in Milwaukie and then he will be laid to rest at Willamette Cemetery at 2pm, I think. My tune in to C-span had the house Natural Resources Committee bill up and the R’s were doing everything they could to make sure that there was no mention of ‘‘Global Warming” and the Senate had Republican Vitter of Louisiana ranting against ACORN, and submitting an amendment to make sure ACORN received no help or money from the legislation to promote volunteerism. Senator Mikulski was great in her rebuttal of his remarks, so much so, she scared him off the floor, and I imagine he hid in the cloakroom! I would suggest ACORN get a copy of his statements, as he made some very inflammatory remarks. He apparently forgot that it was his hero that watched the devastation of Katrina from 30,000’ and he gave them Brownie to do a good job and it was ACORN that actually got a few thousand volunteers to DO some recovery work. I sure hope the Al Franken Senate seat gets resolved soon, I’m sure he would have lot’s of fun with “Bitter Vitter”.

SPORTS

I did not watch all of the Cubbies-Dodgers preseason game last night, but when I checked in the Dodgers were winning and the announcer said they would probably win the NL west again this year.

Specter is a turncoat !

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning just before 8am to a 3, after a good 9+ hours of sleep. I did forget my am pills this morning and went straight to my chair. After observing the usual suspects (C-span, CNN, CNBC and local news) I squirmed myself into my “body cast” and hung in there for a good 5 hours. I did check the DOW and it was up over 175 points at my first check. Yesterday was a very good day, but long, as we had some neighbors over for dinner and conversation. I did do my noon and dinner pills and actually had “3” Dews and stayed up till 11pm last night. Cousin Roberta got me to join “facebook’ and I really liked what I saw there. I did send a notice out to 20+ members that I was now on face book and heard back from many of them, however, it would not let me back on to respond to those that contacted me. I definitely have some work to do to keep that going. I did speak with John M. this morning and our discussion of PICC will have to wait till the end of April, or first of May.

POLITICAL

I’m not going to report on anything “political” today except for the fact that the Clackamas County Democrats, and I, lost a good friend this last weekend. Please say a prayer for everyone’s good friend, Genie Ubelacher who is now separated from her wonderful husband Bill. As you all may know I have experienced some anger in the past to the Clackamas County Democratic Party, and even a few individual members. I will honestly say that Bill, then, and Genie Ubelacher, still, were only loved and admired by me.

Partners in Construcion Cooperation, HMMMMMMMM

I awoke this morning to a 3, after 9+ hours of good sleep. I took my am pills and settled into my chair for a number of massages and tuned into the regular TV channels, C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news channels for fodder material I will report on later. I made no report yesterday as it was a very busy day for me. Brother Marty took me to my NCA appointment where I received my “normal” adjustments and was chastised for not wearing my body cast so he could make any needed adjustments. We both agreed the cast was doing its job and my back pain level was greatly decreased. Following my appointment we went by the hall and saw Mike and went to lunch with him and Marty’s friend, Amy , who works for Habitat for Humanity in Newberg and I gave her some advice for her upcoming project in Newberg. I suggested she contact John Mohlis at CPBT and Connie Ashbrook with Oregon Tradeswomen and the Union at the Newberg Paper mill for assistance. My venture outside was a full 5+ hours and that probably added to my nice long sleep last night.
When I got home I had a message waiting that I received a phone call from an old friend. We worked together on establishing a program called PICC (Partners in Construction Cooperation). We started it when Bill Clinton was President and it was widely regarded as a successful program; at least by the customers who used it, Labor was mixed on their acceptance, but I don’t think the Contractors were too enamored with it. One of our first projects was for James River in Camas and The VP for James River actually sent me too Michigan to make a pitch with the Unions in Battle Creek to give it a try on their Mill expansion, I don’t remember if they tried it, but I did learn that both Contractors here and there were very uncomfortable having “Labor” in their meetings with the Customer. We also used PICC on a Module project here in Portland and the customer (ARCO) was very great full we completed it ahead of schedule and shipped it over 100% complete. The Prime Contractor (Parsons) Labor Relations representative Mike DeAntuano was the Contractor rep on that project. When the project was complete, I stayed in touch with him, and he made it all the way to be President of the company. A President Clinton labor advisor thought enough of the program I was invited to a White House sponsored seminar in Chicago to explain what we were attempting to do. The conference was very informative and you could see the commitment to Organized Labor he had as President. I actually got to go to a Cubbies game while I was there, and as you all know the rest is history.

POLITICAL

As I had a very busy day yesterday and so far today the talking heads have been pretty dull. I don’t have much to report today except the DOW took a nice shot up yesterday, almost 500 points; close to 7777 but it was down 50+ at first glance this morning.

SPORTS

The Blazer game last night was very entertaining but I felt the ref’s let Philly get away with too much.

Clean Energy NOW

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning to a 3, after a good 8+ hours of sleep. I have decided on a slight change for my blog. This blog is now over six months old and even though I have a limited number of followers, I know I have readers that have not signed up as followers, I am going to get on the construction page and see what I can do to spruce it up a little. My first change I will start this morning. I am going to try to do a comprehensive review on the third Saturday of the month, reviewing the things that I thought were important enough for more than one mention. I am coming up on 200 “issues”, but I don’t think I have had two-dozen “comments”.
In the six months since I started, and my mobility and fatigue has increased, I have been spending even more time in front of my TV set and found a lot of good new programs. In these six months both Judi and I decided to quit smoking and so far Judi has been successful and I am getting closer. Judi has got me hooked on the TV show NCIS and repeats run on my cable about a dozen times a week along with the newest on CBS. It is really interesting to see the older shows by date and wonder if Bush and Cheney were also fans?

POLITICAL

C-span and C-span 2 have become my favorite channels. Not just because I can watch the House and Senate in action but the call-in portions and “Book Notes” are also very well done and timely. If you are a book person and are looking for one of their recommendations or one of mine, I would encourage you to use our link to Amazon, as Judi is almost up to 10/15 cents per hour on her website. If you have followed since the beginning you know we have my wife Judi to thank/blame for this blog. Three of my high “political” experiences happened the same night last year. On Election night I got to celebrate the election of Barack Obama at the Oregon Convention Center……Senator Ron Wyden told me he read my blog and I had a new State Representative and he even told me he read my blog. It sounded like that “Clean Energy” rally went well in Salem. I wish I could have been there. Are you listening Brent, Ted, Brad?

Sorry Judi, Dianna, Lacy, Bob and Gretchen, PSU is out of March Madness, but at least they were invited to the dance. North Carolina looks unbeatable but Gonzaga is in the right place maybe.

I awoke this morning at again 7:15am to a 3, after 8+ hours of good sleep. I took my am pills and settled into my chair for 4 massages while watching C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news foder to report on later in this post. I spoke with brother Marty and he was awaiting the arrival of his new computer. I did get 3 hours in my cast and spoke with Marty again, and he is up and on line. I will be doing a short post today as I am expecting company for cards and I want to email brother Marty with this and a couple of other addresses.

POLITICAL

The House is going after the AIG retention-bonus plan with a bill that passed over 3 to 1.

SPORTS

The NCAA Portland venue has started and I also want to catch some of that.

Greg had a good return last night with the Blazers and the winning streak continues.

I awoke this morning at about 7:15am to a 3+ after a good 8+ hours of sleep. I took my am pills and settled into my chair looking for fodder on C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news for items to report on later. I wore my back cast for a good 3 hours and watched the movie Milk, the last in a set that Judi picked up the other day. I am sure glad I did not have to pay for it at the theater, but Sean Penn deserved all his accolades and his Oscar.

A real Republican ?

I awoke this morning at 5am to a 3-, I felt better than a 3-, but my right leg took a while to get it to work right. I took my am pills, then I had 4 sessions in my chair; I looked for the latest gems from the talking heads on C-span, CNN, CNBC, and the local news. Neither house was in session yet but C-span was carrying the National Conference of Mayors/Cities conference in D.C. The beginning was pretty good and I will report some of it below. My first look at the DOW showed it up over 80 points and OIL & GAS both down slightly. Brother Mike sent me a picture of an 11’+ sturgeon caught in Oregon City, I don’t know when. but it was an awesome picture, it took 5 guys and 2 cases of beer to land it. It was released so it is still swimming around the falls I guess.

POLITICAL

Chris Mathews of NBC/CNBC was one of the keynote speakers today at that Mayors Conference, along with Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine. As you no doubt know, I really like good speakers and they both impressed me. If you can get yourself copies of either, I am sure you will be impressed also. Chris Mathews historical perspective was absolutely enlightening and Senator Collins gave me pause, that there may still be some REAL republicans left.

SPORTS

The MARCH MADNESS brackets are now set. North Carolina is favored, UCLA will win and Judi’s Vikings are going to the dance also. Rudy’s back and the Blazers should prosper from that situation.

LEMON or CHERRY ?

I awoke this morning at 5:30am to a 3 after 8 plus hours of good sleep. I took my am pills and settled into my chair for four good massages and a review of the news stories of the day on C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local stations. The DOW opened higher and actually got over 7,000. I saw the House on C-span actually pass 2 resolutions, unanimously. Bipartisanship, what a concept, I think they named Saturday as National Pi day! Lemon Meringue or Cherry? I still haven’t heard from Joe on how he did at Bandon Dunes but I’m sure he had a good time, client golf and all. I haven’t checked my email yet to see if I heard back from Martha, but I did watch for Kurt on C-span.

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 5:30am to a 3- after a good 8+ hours of sleep. I took my am pills and settled into my chair for 2 good massages to prepare for a very busy day. I have an appointment with my NCA and he intends to adjust my back cast and give me a treatment (chiropractic) and then I have an appointment with my tax guy and I may not have to file an extension, for the first time in a long time. I also needed him to answer a question I got from the SSD people after which he did a short search and cleared it up for me. With all my running, I was actually out of the house for almost 5 hours. I did tell my NCA that the supplements were working good and I think I was already having positive effects with his cast. I received an update email from Senator Schrader, and I actually responded to her and she got back to me almost immediately. I will attach our “conversation” in Other Stuff. When we got home I had already received a package from SSD in Salem. I did have a short conversation with my brother Mike and he gave me some bad news. I have a longtime good friend being treated for diabetes down the hill at Kaiser. That reminded me about Obama’s actions on stem cell research. I sent him a thank you and I understand even Nancy Reagan did also.

Thank you Barack. And while I was no supporter of Ronald Reagan I believe he could have benefited from removal of that ban. Thank you Martha, the full conversation follows.

Thanks for the contact. I still consider myself a big supporter of both you and Kurt. I do have a question though. A large part of the Obama recoveryplan is to get people to work on "shovel ready" projects that have good benefits. Also he wants to get us off of Foriegn Oil. It seems the Oregon Legislature is fighting him on both those counts. We currently have a Coal fired plant in eastern Oregon and a proposal for a Liquified Natural Gas plant in Northwestern Oregon. The LNG Plant as proposed in NW Oregon has been through 10+ years of scrutiny, and the Boardman Coal Fired plant has been operating for a couple of decades. The proposed LNG Plant is by a Private investor offering about 1000 good union jobs. Is it the stance of the Legislature that they are anti union or that they just want Federal Dollars only to help in the recovery.

Thanks for the email. The issues surrounding the coal plant and LNG are largely the result of environmental concerns. In fact--I think the Clackamas County D's have issued an anti-LNG resolution--but the person to check with is Jill Thorne. I agree that the state must participate in the recovery and we will have some pretty lively discussions about both of these issues as the session proceeds.
Sooo...I'm assuming that you are on the side of proceeding with the projects because of job creation? Is there a way we can generate a discussion from both sides of the issue?

I awoke this morning at 5:30am to a 3- after a good 8 hours of sleep. I took my am pills and noticed there was still some snow on the deck and it was below freezing. I took 4 massages in my chair and tuned into C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news. The local news weather person was showing the snow at skyline still coming down but the traffic was moving pretty good as it was not sticking to the roads. C-span did not have anything of interest on yet and CNBC was predicting the DOW was going to be down again today but the market has not opened yet. I did get an email warning about a new nasty virus going around attached to an email announcing that Osama Bin Laden had been captured or hung that carried that nasty virus – DON’T OPEN IT, JUST DELETE IT! I was a 3- this morning because my right knee and right ankle were acting up first thing. I have decided that I am going to sign my personal emails with my blog address and maybe that will get me a few more followers. I am coming up on my 6 month anniversary of my blog, and as you can see I have not received many comments so far. I am scheduled to see my NCA tomorrow to get my body cast adjusted, and see my accountant to get my 08 taxes done so tomorrow may be a short and late post. The Women in Trades Fair is coming up and if you have any young women interested in non traditional careers I would encourage you to get your young women there. It appears my local negotiating committee will have something for the membership to review pretty soon, that should be interesting.

If I steered you to the Voters Digest last night and you went, I am sorry. Last week Bruce said they were going to carry on the conversation about the Obama recovery plan and I had hoped to call and ask why it seemed the Oregon Legislature was anti Obama but instead they had a guest discussing Planned Parenthood’ attempt to open a center in Northeast Portland and he was sure that it was PDC’s racist attempt to Kill African American Babies. Bruce was just trying to stir up his audience; Bob was way too reserved but made some good points, and the Libertarian actually made some sense.

SPORTS

The Blazers and Lakers game tonight should be good. Team USA came back against Venezuela and are heading to the second round in the World Baseball Classic. I think I’ll go to ESPN and sign up for a fantasy baseball league.

Oregon Voter Digest, Bradwood Landing

I awoke this morning at 7:15am, daylight saving time, to a 3, after 9 hours of good sleep. I had 4 good massages and started to review my taped TV shows from last night and this morning, some reports to follow, depending on when I post. I did see the report from CBS’s, Sunday morning show already that had a really good piece on Van Morrison. I did speak with sister Danni last night as I was going to bed and she sure seemed tired. As soon as brother Marty tells me when Christopher gets his April leave I’ll plan my next tournament.

I awoke this morning at 6am to a 3- after 7 hours of good sleep. I felt better than I should have after last nights “tournament”. The tournament was a little short handed but I did manage to finish in the money. Of course there were only four players and we awarded three places. I’m thinking brother Mike will have more incentive to get his son-in-law there next time. :-p Brother Mike tried like heck to get Marty to jump off that garage roof again last night; but he didn’t fall for that this time.

Not much here, being it’s Saturday and all, but I did hear from my good friend Dan Gardner and he seems to be taking well to his new position in D.C. We will all have to watch for him on C-span, being he is spending so much time at the Capital.

I’ve seen 3 different Cubby preseason games and I really believe there are no safe goats anywhere. This IS their year! Chicago and Baltimore in the series; You heard it here first.

Tournament time

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 5:15am to a 3. I took my am pills and noticed it was foggy and freezing outside. I settled into my chair for four good massages and turned on the TV looking for Blog fodder for my reports, which will follow below. I tuned into C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news. The local weather lady was predicting a warm and dry day for us today. That sure sounds great for a change. Good day for some kind of Tournament!
Judi had to cancel her lobby day with Mary so I think I will get her to take me to my SSD Attorney and maybe even lunch.
My first look at the DOW showed it up over 124 points but so was OIL and GAS. Did everyone fill up yesterday? The local news apparently could only find a handful of stations still under $2.00 a gallon.
I also received an email from SEIU with a connection to thank VP Biden for his support of the employee free choice act. I have included the connection in my community organizers. section.

POLITICAL

The Republican stall is still going on in Washington on the recovery package. Apparently that Drier guy from California figures Arnold is lying about the bad straights that California is in. I find it curious that the R’s didn’t say a word on the bank bailouts the last couple of years, but they have found their voices when it comes to saying no to out of work working people that need an unemployment extension.

Someone from AARP put me on a list for a teleconference last night with representative Mitch Greenlick. I tried 3 times to “participate”, without success, and gave up.

Bernie Maddow is under house arrest for a ponzi scheme. How is that different than what the Banks did to get us into the mess we are in now? Willie and Earl, I will be talking to you soon, I hope.

SPORTS

The Blazers have rid themselves of that Denver jinx. Nice quarter Brandon. The Tournament is on for tonight and according to my sources Friday is supposed to be a good day for me.

Don't RUSH to Judgment; just say NO

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 6am to a 4- after 8+ of good sleep. I took my am pills and noticed it was just below freezing out and settled into my chair for 2 good massages and a review of the news and talking heads on C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news. I did three and a half hours in my upper body cast and when I take it off, I feel like I lost 10 pounds. My neurologist responded positively on changing my spasm pills and that sounds promising. Judi reported that the play she and Maurge went to last night was very good. It was something about before Judy Garland gets to OZ?

POLITICAL

The Senate was trying to pass the Obama recovery package and all the R’s were still touting how they were the only one’s really supporting the President. With McCain’s rant, I’m thinking his staff has not told him he lost! Lets see the RNC must clear everything with Rush; does that mean the ORP (Oregon Republican Party) have to clear everything with ?????????

SPORTS

Did I lie yesterday when I told you my tournament is tomorrow? But it is tomorrow.

Even with Bird gone, I still don’t like Indiana.

Jail Time, but not in Cuba!

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 5am to a 3, after 7 hours of sleep. I took my am pills, I noticed it was freezing outside and then settled into my chair for my first set of massages. I put on my back cast and tuned into see what the talking heads were saying on C-span, CNN, CNBC and my local news. I did see that he DOW was up 90+ points to over 6800 and OIL and GAS were also up; Bush, Cheney and the Saudi’s should be happy with OIL over $44.00 a barrel.

POLITICAL

I do consider myself a strong supporter of the President, but I am with the Pelosi, Law and Order crowd, and going after ALL the Law Breakers from the last Administration.

I awoke this morning at 5am to a 3, after 7+ hours of sleep. I took my am pills and settled into my chair for 4 massages and tuned in to watch the news, local, C-span, CNN, and CNBC. After the dive yesterday the DOW opened up to climb past 6800, but OIL and GAS were also up. Fill your tanks this week.
Short report again today, as I have a conference call with SS at 9 and I can’t miss that.

Oregon Legislature ditzs Obama recovery plan

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 5:15am to a 3 after 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep, thanks, I think, to my new/old muscle spasm pill before bed last night. I did 2 sessions in my chair and tuned into C-span, CNN, CNBC and the local news for blog fodder which I will report on later. I did watch my friends on Oregon Voters Digest again last night, and I even called in. I asked the question “why do most in the Oregon Legislature not like Obama’s recovery plan”? It started a good conversation that will be continued next Sunday, be sure to tune in, I will. A short report today again as I have a follow up appointment this morning at the Kaiser Fracture clinic.

POLITICAL

I’m sure glad there is no one out of work in Louisiana that needs extended unemployment benefits, as their Governor has decided to skip that part of the recovery package. I’m guessing those people that left New Orleans after the hurricane moved to states that will be accepting the recovery money, and they can wait, at least until the levy’s get fixed, because Governor Jindal will be accepting those recovery dollars.

SPORTS

The Blazers sure handled the Spurs yesterday; it must be that home cooking.

My “Tournament” is still on for Friday, but don’t show up expecting snacks from Judi or that UA-Carpenter guy to abuse, he got a better offer. (he would probably get lost any way)

Go Beavers!

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 6:30am to a 3+. I took my am pills and noticed the temperature outside was a balmy 40 degrees. I settled into my chair for 2 massages and set my TV for the Sunday morning talking heads. I’ll watch, and report on them later. I have changed my pill regimen and tried a different pill for my spasms. My new spasm pill is over a decade old, but seems to be effective still. I am at my workstation at a 4 and I seem to be full of good ideas this morning. I did see some of CBS’s Sunday morning show already and have a good, but short, report to follow. Hey Al; start your own blog, it’ll keep you busy, now that you are retired and waiting for your grandchild to become President.

POLITICAL

There were two pieces of bad news yesterday to report on. First, we lost Paul Harvey at 90 years old. Second, Rush Limbaugh was ranting at the CPAC (Conservative Political Action Committee) “convention” in Washington DC telling everyone they should be hoping that Obama fails. What a good American!

SPORTS

There was a wonderful piece on Sunday Morning today about the new OSU Beavers head coach, Craig Robinson, and his Sister and Brother-in-law. It seems their fathers driving advice was also a variation of “All you can do, is what you can do, just do all you can do”.

I am also going to try a “Tournament” next Friday night. I will surly find out if people come because they want to see me, or are they just looking for a treat from Judi. As of right now I have 3 confirmed, I need 5, and I have invited over 10. Judi will be in Salem all day lobbying with Mary B so it looks like it will just be Pizza, Chips and the few nuts I have invited.
