THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE - HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

PERSONAL

I slept in until 9:30 am today at 5:45am after 9+hrs of sleep to a 3. I took my am pills, and Judi had put out my flag. I did play golf yesterday and Mike Schostek was my “Wally catcher”. I still have work to do on my YELLOW RIBBON aid section, and I'll keep the new information I received received from State Senator Martha Schrader, posted one more day. I did make the additions to my Hero, Zero and Evil list and I will be asking you all to send that information off to all the Duck Alumni you can find. That Senate hearing was a State Senate Interim Committee chaired by Senator Metzger and it was concerning the U of O Arena project and their contracting procedures. I watched the Federal hearing on the Gulf oil spill and it was not quite as entertaining, but you could have interchanged the “company reps” at both hearings. Cousins Bobbie and Dan need to know that from what I got out of the U of O testimony was that, that bribery scheme to come up with the low bidders was reminiscent to me of the Gotti Family in New York. I guess since I have had sooo much time to sit in front of the T.V. since I retired and watched to many “Sapranno's” I may be a little jaded, but I think Frohnmayer and most of those in the phony construction management firm on the U. of O. Arena, if they were engineering majors at Oregon, I'm thinking their minors were T.V. and/or Movie making; although I didn't notice any “goodfella's” at the hearing? They spent a lot of time talking about “In Kind donations” being the difference between the LOW BID and #2, if it sounds like bribery and it looks like bribery is it a duck? There are new additions to my “HERO”, “ZERO”, and even the “EVIL” LISTS. (all well earned I must say, check them out – write a letter). Listening to the U. of O. representatives, it appeared to me that they not only scamed the State of Oregon but also ALL their Alumni. I suggest that you all try to find this hearing on the State of Oregon Website and read the testimony. As I understand it there will be at least a few more hearings on these mess's. What was it by the way, that Dave Frohnmeyer did before he went to the U of O. I really didn't think the U of O is ANTI-UNION but it sure appears they are now. I guess I'm too old now but I do remember a time I worked with both Cecil and Wayne Drinkward of Hoffman, who built a great construction company, and while we did not always agree on stuff their word WAS their bond and even they wouldn't come up with such a scam.

Based on President Obama's press conference and the news that they were finding oil “tar balls” as far away as N. Carolina I still believe that A) EVERYONE involved in the gulf oil spill should go to jail. After all they have not only CONTRIBUTED to that massive environmental catastrophe they KILLED almost a dozen workers, and B) I know that there were over 2,000 good UNION jobs waiting, and ready to build that Clean Energy plant at Bradwood Landing here in Oregon, so I guess the Oregon Politicians are either ANTI-OBAMA or ANTI-CLEAN ENEGY. I saw that ALL the Senators from Oregon, Washington and California are proposing a permanent BAN on deep water drilling off the west coast; notice – no one from Alaska.

I think everyone that was celebrating the stopping of the Bradwood plant were Anti-Union, not necessarily anti-LNG. (or maybe just in th Oil and Coal industry pockets.

NEPHEW CHRISTOPHER IS IN AFGHANISTAN STILL and thank you for your service and you are in our prayers.
I think nephew Rhyon has made it back, at least as far as Hawaii.

Cousin Larry Pahut is running for Justice of the Peace in Deer Lodge County. His election is in June; and that would be a picture of his grandfather there on the right, John L. Monahan, L for Larry? . His sister, Patty Ann Sullivan is his Campaign Manager and we became face book friends. I actually did send him a check, and saw that it had been cashed and would ask all to give what they can. (campaign H.Q. Are 400 Spruce, Anaconda, Montana 59711)

God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day, And when it comes to my last cast, I then must humbly pray. When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep, that in His mercy, I be judged............Good enough to keep.

My daily prayer, is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear OUR prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, for the safe return of nephew Christopher from Afghanistan; good family friend Pat Percin, all those families suffering from those mine disasters in West Virginia and Kentucky, the coast residents of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Georgia (those Drill Baby Drill states); cousin Larry Pahut in his endeavor to become the Deer Lodge County Justice of the Peace; and all in need. We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”
Thank You, Mother Mary, for your help and assistance, especially for BRINGING DANIEL HOME SAFELY; for Brandee, whose pregnancy I understand is going well; and now those, NOW covered with Health Care.

I know I have been repeating things, maybe too much, on my blog; but some of this stuff I need to be reminded of and some of this stuff others need to be reminded of.

M.S., LDN and AMP REPORT

This is my attempt to keep track of my experiences with my LDN treatment for my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the 4.5mg, I think I'm noticeably better. I am experiencing better days and now that I'm doing the new dosage I am seeing a marked change. I have now been on that brand new FDA approved pill, Aminopyridine, even though I missed a few times, I am very pleased. It is supposed to be good for “gait” issues, even those with primary progressive. My B.P. was 118/73/56 at 11:15am today.

POLITICAL

DO YOU THINK ALL THOSE PEOPLE IN THE GULF WAITING ON ALL THAT B.P. OIL TO COME ASHORE WOULD RATHER HAVE HAD AN L.N.G. PLANT? ( this is for all my Oregon Anti LNG readers) The Raging Cajun was sure raging.

Congress has failed to pass a jobs bill, which included an extension of
long-term unemployment insurance (UI) benefits. Now, millions of Americans who
have been out of work the longest will begin losing their UI benefits next week,
while Congress enjoys a week long Memorial Day vacation.

Over the past 18 months, Patty Murray has been taking nothing for granted, building a strong grassroots campaign across Washington state that will reach out to millions of voters. No matter who she's running against, Patty gets up every day to work for the people of her State; and she looks forward to talking to them on the campaign trail and asking for their vote. After all, the voters are going to have a clear choice in this election: Whether to continue to move the state and country forward to a better place, or whether to take us backward to the failed policies of the Bush era. We all know that Patty Murray is clearly the right choice; but she needs your help to get Patty's message out.

From Congressman Blumenhauer:

Dear Friend,

This last week I lead an effort to eliminate wasteful spending and better fund our Oregon National Guard. The Department of Defense Authorization bill came up for debate and contains funding for the Joint Strike Fighter (F-35) Extra Engine program – a project that the Pentagon, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, and President Obama have identified as wasteful spending. For years I’ve tried to cut this program, and this year - with Rep. John Larson (CT) and a bipartisan coalition – I am offering an amendment that would eliminate this program and redirect the money to pay for critical equipment that the National Guard needs. The rest of the funds will be used to pay down the national deficit. As you know, in addition to fighting forest fires and natural disasters here in Oregon, the National Guard has been repeatedly called upon to serve in both Iraq and Afghanistan. While they have been consistently short-changed, cutting this wasteful program and using the money to help our troops will provide needed protection and relief. Instead of funding a project that Secretary Gates has repeatedly said the military does not need, I am focusing on protecting those who have been asked to put their lives on the line. The debate was on C-SPAN and it appears headed for reconciliation.

It appeared that, while the Debate was good and you (Representative Earl Blumenhauer) and Representative Schrader were VERY GOOD and thoughtful, and the Republicans fought against the bill because A) It was the Obama Administration's Defense appropriations bill B) it included language that would allow elimination of the Don't ask don't Tell rule, when and if it is recommended by the Secretary of Defense, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the President of the United States. C) it eliminated a wasteful extra jet engine procurement. The party of NO, including that Flake from Arizona appeared in lockstep against The President, Secretary Gates and the Armed services and against reducing the deficit with the savings. It now will go to “ the Conference Committee” to resolve the differences between the House and Senate versions.
WELL DONE EARL ! WELL DONE KURT !

From candidate for Governor Dr. John Kitzhaber:

Dear Wally,

Are you ready for the fall campaign? We're kicking things off with a tour around the state. And you're invited to join us! John will discuss his detailed plan for jobs and ask you to be part of the conversation about the future of Oregon. Click on the link for the event nearest you to see all the details and to RSVP.
Pendleton - June 1st, 20106pm to 8pm
Hosted by Steve Corey, Jane Hill, Dr. Chuck Hofmann, Bob Levy and Henry Lorenzen.

Bend - June 2nd, 20105:30pm to 7:30pmHosted by Mayor Bruce Abernathy, Rep. Judy Stiegler, Jack Sterne, Les Stiles, Cylvia Hayes, Craig Wilhelm, Jonathan Manton and Charlie Ringo.

Lincoln City - June 7th, 2010
12pm to 1pm
Hosted by Lincoln City Mayor Lori Hollingsworth

Newport - June 7th, 20106pm to 8pm Hosted by Sen. Joanne Verger, Rep. Jean Cowan, Comm. Terry Thompson, Comm. Don Lindley, and Comm. Bill Hall.
See you on the road!

I haven't changed my mind that ALL that health care “controversy” that was being generated was to take the publics mind off of the Employee Free Choice Act, American Rights at Work, “card check” legislation. I do believe passage of the E.F.C.A. might have made quite a difference in both the West Virginia, and Kentucky accidents. I also heard that that a$$&*$# company owner in West Virginia refused to allow UNION MINORS to try to help. Did I hear that Halliburton ( give the boot to Brown and Root) had something to do with building and or maintaining that Oil Rig that exploded and sank?Being that they are one of those pointing fingers at that Senate Hearing.

I still don't know yet, if the “soft landing” bill is done but that is one issue I will keep harping on until I am sure.

If you are flying the American Flag for Memorial Day, please keep flying it until ALL our Troops in harms way return home.

At the 11th Hour, on the 11th Day, of the 11th Month a cease fire was signed to end the war to end all wars in 1918. How's that worked out so far? Did anyone else notice that the health care bill passed at 11:11 am?

SPORTS

It's MLB Time, Hey Chicago, what do ya say, go Cubs go, Cubs gonna win today! 1-0 vs Pit. In bottom of the 5th at post time. I really have to get one of those Memorial Day Cubs caps.

And yes Mark, I will check the Mariners schedule. I understand the Cubs are coming to town for a three game set in late June. I talked to Gib about going up for one of those games, but I will try to plan a trip before then.

Also Nephew Michael Ross has a try-out for the Southern California Rangers Tuesday I've been told.
Speaking of struggling teams, Go Orioles; and Peter have your people keep an eye on that Mehrens kid that should be getting a tryout Tuesday for the S. Cal Rangers and playing on Jackie Robinson Field down in Pasadena, I think.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS & CHARITIES

Denise Hutzenbieler will be looking for help in June as she is walking in the Epilepsy walk. I will post more on that walk as I get it.

The American Rights at Work still needs help. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue. E.F.C.A. Especially in light of that mine disaster in West Virginia and those Rig explosions in the Gulf. I watched 60 minutes and as far as I am concerned, now that the Supreme Court has ruled that Corporations must be treated as regular people as far as “Campaign Finance is concerned” shouldn't they be treated as regular people when it comes to Murder or Manslaughter? If two or more people get together to plan and commit a crime isn't that a “conspiracy”; isn't that how they got the MOB?

I awoke today at 5:45am after 10+hrs of sleep to a 3. I took my am pills, and put out my flag. Happy Birthday Kelli. I have a starting time at 2:30pm today at Gresham and I have a “Wally catcher”.

(or maybe just in the Oil and Coal industry pockets.

NEPHEW CHRISTOPHER IS IN AFGHANISTAN STILL and still needs our prayers.
I think, nephew Rhyon has made it back, at least as far as Hawaii.

My B.P. was 118/68/57 at 8:15am today.

POLITICAL

DO YOU THINK ALL THOSE PEOPLE IN THE GULF WAITING ON ALL THAT B.P. OIL TO COME ASHORE WOULD RATHER HAVE HAD AN L.N.G. PLANT? ( this is for all my Oregon Anti LNG readers) That Raging Cajun was sure raging yesterday.

Congress has failed to pass a jobs bill, which included an extension of
long-term unemployment insurance (UI) benefits. Now, millions of Americans who
have been out of work the longest will begin losing their UI benefits next week,
while Congress enjoys a week long Memorial Day vacation.

Over the past 18 months, Senator Patty Murray has been taking nothing for granted, building a strong grassroots campaign across Washington state that will reach out to millions of voters. No matter who she's running against, Patty gets up every day to work for the people of her State -- and she looks forward to talking to them on the campaign trail and asking for their vote. After all, the voters are going to have a clear choice in this election: Whether to continue to move the state and country forward to a better place, or whether to take us backward to the failed policies of the Bush era. We all know that Patty Murray is clearly the right choice -- but she needs your help to get Patty's message out.

From Congressman Blumenhauer

Dear Friend,

This (last) week I lead an effort to eliminate wasteful spending and better fund our Oregon National Guard. The Department of Defense Authorization bill came up for debate today contains funding for the Joint Strike Fighter (F-35) Extra Engine program – a project that the Pentagon, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, and President Obama have identified as wasteful spending.
The debate was on C-SPAN and:

It appeared that, while the Debate was good and you and Representative Schrader were VERY GOOD and thoughtful, and the Republicans fought against the bill because A) It was the Obama Administration's Defense appropriations bill B) it included language that would allow elimination of the Don't ask don't Tell rule, when and if it is recommended by the Secretary of Defense, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the President of the United States. C) it eliminated a wasteful extra jet engine procurement.
The party of NO, including that Flake from Arizona appeared in lockstep against The President, Secretary Gates and the Armed services and against reducing the deficit with the savings. It will now will go to “ the Conference Committee” to resolve the differences between the House and Senate versions.

WELL DONE EARL ! WELL DONE KURT !

LOCAL

DEER LODGE COUNTY MONTANA JUSTICE OF THE PEACE LARRY PAHUT

FROM DR. JOHN KITZHABER, CANDIDATE FOR OREGON GOVERNOR:

Wally,

Having had a couple of days to absorb our amazing win on primary night, I wanted to share a few thoughts:
First of all, thank you. While we were confident going into Election Day, the result was beyond all expectations. We won 36 of 36 counties and amassed more votes than Chris Dudley and Allen Alley combined. That is a testament to the hard work and support of Oregonians and organizations in every corner of the state.
As important as our victory was the kind of campaign we ran to achieve it. We told the truth about the challenges facing the state, and provided specific ways to meet them. We reached out directly to Oregonians to solicit their ideas as well. And we appealed to what is best about our state and our people, to use the campaign to build an Oregon majority that transcends partisanship and geography. We share one state and one future, and we need to build one movement to make that future the right one.
What does that future look like?
An economy that creates jobs to lead us out of the current recession and ends the boom and bust cycle that puts our economic future at risk.
An education system that breaks down the artificial silos between pre-school, K-12 and post-secondary to reduce the achievement gap, increase graduation rates and ensure every qualified Oregon high school graduate access to at least 2 years of post-secondary education.
A health care system that takes full advantage of the new federal health care legislation to ensure that the expansion in coverage actually makes Oregonians healthier at a lower cost.
An Oregon that still looks like Oregon, protecting our irreplaceable natural heritage of beaches, farms, forests clean air, water fish and wildlife. And while protecting these values using new, sustainable practices to ensure that rural Oregon participates fully in our economic recovery.
Often, a Primary Election marks a shift in campaign strategy. That is not the case with our campaign. We will continue as we started. We will continue to tell the truth. We will continue to offer solutions. We will continue to offer real change and a way to make that change a reality. We will continue to look forward, not backward. And we will continue to engage our fellow Oregonians to not only win a campaign, but to build a better Oregon.
To do that, I will continue to need your support, your ideas and your help. Find out ways to get involved here.

Thanks again for this great victory. But we’re not done yet. We aren’t running for office. We’re running for Oregon.
John

See you on the road!

I haven't changed my mind that ALL that health care “controversy” that was being generated was to take the publics mind off of the Employee Free Choice Act, American Rights at Work, “card check” legislation. I do believe passage of the E.F.C.A. might have made quite a difference in both the West Virginia, and Kentucky accidents. I also heard that that a$$&*$# company owner in West Virginia refused to allow UNION MINORS to try to help. Did I hear that Halliburton ( give the boot to Brown and Root) had something to do with building and or maintaining that Oil Rig that exploded and sank? Being that they are one of those pointing fingers at that Senate Hearing.

I still don't know yet, if the “soft landing” bill is done but that is one issue I will keep harping on until I am sure.

YELLOW RIBBON SECTION

From Senator Martha Schrader's update:

Veterans’ Reintegration Task Force:
I recently spent some time advocating on behalf for federal funding opportunities for our returning veterans. A lot has been accomplished but our returning troops and current veterans still need better and more accessible support services. The Task Force’s new findings was presented on May 26, 2010 to the Joint Committee on Veterans’ Affairs at the state capitol building in Salem. See my op-ed from The Oregonian: Reintegrating veterans: Our troops deserve help coming home.
Finding from the Task Force: We are looking to address an issue, supported by a recent Oregonian article from May 18th, that suggests that Fort Lewis had a policy of treating returning National Guard and Reservists as “second-class soldiers.”

I have been in contact with Oregon’s congressional contingents, who are addressing this issue. U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and U.S. Representative Kurt Schrader (D- Ore.) are calling for an investigation into the Army’s programs for providing medical treatment to National Guard troops prior to and after combat deployment Iraq. Their request to the Department of Defense Inspector General and the Government Accountability Office follows evidence that Joint Base Lewis McChord had instituted a dual track process for handling the medical needs that treated active duty soldiers differently from National Guard and reservists returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Did you know?
$25 supports our lending library
$50 supports our educational programs
$100 supports our emergency financial assistance program - such as utility bills
$250 supports our medical equipment program - such as leg braces to assist with mobility
$500 supports our scholarship program for first-year college students affected by MS

The University of Oregon IS anti-union

PERSONAL

I awoke today at 5:30am after 8+hrs of sleep to a 3. I took my am pills, and put out my flag. I still have work to do on my YELLOW RIBBON aid section, and I'll keep the new information I received received from State Senator Martha Schrader, posted a while longer. I did make the additions to my Hero, Zero and Evil list and I will be sending that information off to all the Duck Alumni I can find. The Senate hearing Monday was a State Senate Interim Committee chaired by Senator Metzger and it was concerning the U of O Arena project and their contracting procedures. I watched the Federal hearing on the Gulf oil spill and it was not quite as entertaining, but you could have interchanged the “company reps” at both hearings. Cousin Bobbie and Dan need to know that from what I got out of the U of O testimony was that, that bribery scheme to come up with the low bidders was reminiscent to me of the Gotti Family in New York.

EARL BLUMENHAUER IS A STAR !

PERSONAL

I awoke today at 5:45am after 10hrs of sleep to a 2+. I took my am pills, and put out my flag. I still have work to do on my YELLOW RIBBON aid section, and I'll keep the new information I received received from State Senator Martha Schrader, posted a while longer. My “Kaiser” approved Chiropractor appointment went as well as first one.

After all they have not only CONTRIBUTED to that massive environmental catastrophe they KILLED almost a dozen workers, and B) I know that there were over 2,000 good UNION jobs waiting, and ready to build that Clean Energy plant at Bradwood Landing here in Oregon, so I guess the Oregon Political Leaders are either ANTI-OBAMA or ANTI-CLEAN ENEGY. (or maybe just in th Oil and Coal industry pockets.)

NEPHEW CHRISTOPHER IS IN AFGHANISTAN STILL and still needs our prayers.

I know I still have been repeating things, maybe too much, on my blog; but some of this stuff I need to be reminded of and some of this stuff others need to be reminded of.

My B.P. was 124/84/54 at 9:15am today.

POLITICAL

DO YOU THINK ALL THOSE PEOPLE IN THE GULF WAITING ON ALL THAT B.P. OIL TO COME ASHORE WOULD RATHER HAVE HAD AN L.N.G. PLANT? ( this is for all my Oregon Anti LNG readers)

From Congressman Blumenhauer

Dear Friend,

This week I am leading an effort to eliminate wasteful spending and better fund our Oregon National Guard. The Department of Defense Authorization bill coming up for debate today contains funding for the Joint Strike Fighter (F-35) Extra Engine program – a project that the Pentagon, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, and President Obama have identified as wasteful spending. The debate will likely be on C-SPAN today or tomorrow, and I will keep you posted as this amendment moves forward.

The Debate was on today and you were VERY GOOD and thoughtful. The Republicans fought against the bill because A) It was the Obama Administration's Defense appropriations bill B) it included language that would allow elimination of the Don't ask don't Tell rule, when and if it is recommended by the Secretary of Defense, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the President of the United States. C) it eliminated a wasteful extra jet engine procurement. The party of NO, including that Flake from Arizona appeared in lockstep against The President, Secretary Gates and the Armed services and against reducing the deficit with the savings.

WELL DONE EARL !

YELLOW RIBBON SECTION

From Senator Martha Schrader's update:
Veterans’ Reintegration Task Force: I recently spent some time advocating on behalf for federal funding opportunities for our returning veterans. A lot has been accomplished but our returning troops and current veterans still need better and more accessible support services. The Task Force’s new findings will be presented on May 26, 2010 to the Joint Committee on Veterans’ Affairs at the state capitol building in Salem.

Fort Oregon Web Site: Check out FortOregon.com! It was established as a centralized point of contact on the multitude of agencies and services that provide support and benefits to soldiers and their dependents.

Go to the website www.VVMFCenter.org – they are collecting dollars for an education center at “The Wall”, Washington D.C.'s Vietnam Veterans Memorial, help if you can.

DANIEL, I SURE HOPE YOU AND OR TRINA CHECK OUT LARRY ROBERTA'S WEBSITE. AND I STILL HAVE A YELLOW RIBBON WAITING TO BE UNTIED.

HURRY HOME AND BE SAFE CHRISTOPHER.

Larry Roberta, a reclusive Aumsville veteran whose story of health problems from hexavalent chromium exposure in The Oregonian alerted his fellow soldiers, most of whom live between Forest Grove, McMinnville and Gresham. Roberta's testimony before the Oregon Legislature last year helped create a fund for soldiers who develop cancer as a result of this exposure, and if you noticed I now have a follower with the same name.
