POLITICAL

My political update is............ Hoooraaaay for Big Ed Shultz, He is here in Portland tonight for a Town Hall ad he is going great right now on MSNBC.

THANK YOU: SKYPE.COM

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 7:45am to a 3 after 9+ hours of sleep. And a sunny morning, with HOT projected again today, but it was just over 60 on the east deck at 8:20am. I took my am pills, put out my flag and settled in for some chair massages and turned on my TV. The House of Representatives was debating the “Stock Holders Compensation” bill and Barney Frank is at the mike making the case for regulation. The R's objected and asked him to “yield” because he talked to fast. He, politely, told the gentleman from California, no, “if he was talking to fast the gentleman could wait for the very competent transcriber, who works the floor and transcribes the speeches for the record, and the record would be available later and all the republicans were trying to do was “slow down” the process! The Senate was in quorum call.

While I was out on my little jaunt yesterday I missed a couple of visits from niece Stephanie, her son Rhett and in-laws Peg and Eric and the delivery of my B.D. Presents. I am really sorry I missed Steph and Rhett but I have this awesome special Irish wall plaque that I am using right now, as a skid-pad insulation-pad underneath my computer here on my lap in my lazy boy.
Peg and Eric did come over after they finished dinner and Eric hung a tennis ball in the garage for visual location when we park the car in the garage. It is centered to give enough room to open both doors and be able to close the garage door, very thoughtful.
I must confess, to brother Michael anyway, who joined me at Gloria'z as we donated to the official Oregon “Widows, Children and State Parks Fund”; I did also have access to Judi's (Frances, take note) Tiramisu and I took full advantage.

While the 26th was my final repeat report on the - The “Monahan” / Pahut / Mehrens / Roche / Sullivan / Lemelin / Lovell Family gathering, and I only bring it up again, because I expect another report from Cousin Joe and Cousin Bill. While it won't be part of the “official” reunion, I do believe cousin Billy's trip will reawaken the festivities, although he did miss the “official” reunion, there was another Frances that took good stead for him and I hope he has a good, safe trip.

You also may notice the change in spelling, which proves, to me at least, I have at least one more reader than just Mike, who is my word counter, and brother.

Thanks to Nephew Daniel's (Dannette's youngest) wife Trina, Judi and I both got to get a video phone call (skype.com) from Daniel in Iraq Wednesday and yesterday I received one from my nephew Christopher, who is in S. Cal, getting ready to head for Afghanistan. They both looked good and it was really special.

Did you know they are charging computer time to our soldiers in Iraq for this access? That's criminal as far as I'm concerned.

I think Billy said he was going to try to stop in Helena on his trip to see Peg and Billy Joe, maybe he will be lucky enough to see uncle Sandy.

I'll still have to tell Dr. Zarelli when I do see him on the 3rd of August that I actually like the heat, but not so much over 100 degrees, and even though we stayed at “Gregson Hot Springs”, now called Fairmont Resort, on our Montana trip, I did not take advantage of those natural hot spring waters.

Again, I will say thank you, to all those who joined my request for prayers for me, all my friends, and the men and women in the service of their State and Country.

I would ask everyone to continue the prayers that can. As I said in my email, I AM living proof of good results. And as I am back to driving, all those OTHER drivers will need those prayers.

And I do still wish I spent more time with everyone in Montana.

I have decided to at least try to be at the Building Trades Convention, as it is taking place at a favorite spot of mine at the coast and I am looking forward to seeing everyone. I also planned to partake in a keno tournament on the way back home at Spirit Mountain, but when I made the reservation I asked for a handicap, smoking room, which, it has been pointed out to me, was very rude, because I asked for a smoking room.
After it was pointed out to me how rude I was being, especially concerning smoking, It got me to thinking about rudeness. Since I got my scooter I thought I had become more aware of rudeness, especially people that do not notice me in my scooter trying to get past them. I have no excuse for being rude myself, even with my M.S..
So to all those that I have been rude to, I apologize, especially my wife, who is a non-smoker, and those I have directed smart-a$$ comments at. It is not really humor and I WILL try to think more before I speak or act. I will also check on a non-smoking handicap room. These days of 100 degree plus weather have got me down to less than a ½ a pack a day as I am still only smoking outside, and as I check my “butts” when I empty my ash trays I've noticed them getting longer, I still have some Wellbutrin so maybe this trip would be a good time to try that again.

My daily prayer is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear OUR prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, especially for my dear friends Dianna, Jim E., Kelli and her brother and all in need.

We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”

I learned last Saturday that Dianna is taking an experimental treatment for her condition and I would ask everyone to say an extra prayer that the experiment is successful. And thanks to efforts of her GOOD friend Mary, and our continued prayers, she may get more help in her Experimentl treatment.

Her GOOD friend ( mine too ) Mary is Jewish, I think she also believes she has ancestors that were witches, and while my/our prayer is to “Mary Mother of God, Jesus”; and while they both were Jewish, and Mary Mother of Michael, is also doing good things for our friend Dianna, this is just one of those coincidences that makes one go Hmmm.

POLITICAL

Barney Frank's bill on shareholders voting compensation packages........the main R argument is the "GOVERNMENT" shouldn't be interfereing with private sector, it's unamerican. I am not sure the age level of those in congress but as a just recently turned 59 year old, I seem to remember "price/wage controls" enacted in the early 70's?, but I guess that dosen't count.

I did see Oregon Representative Kurt Schrader yesterday morning during the 1 minute speeches, it was my first time seeing him up there, and his speech was on the recovery dollars reaching his district. As a retired Building Trades Representative, I did appreciate his “theme” and comments.

That tag team of Senator Boxer (D-Cal.) and Senator Durbin (D-Il.) tag teaming Senator Vitter (R-Loui.) yesterday, over a proposed amendment he was offering really was not a fair (fight)....debate.

They announced that the “cash for clunkers” program had been fully expended yesterday and today the House has a proposal (from Jay Inslee D Wa.) to extend it; and as they were talking about the success of the program, I heard a bunch of loud applause from the gallery.

I did get my second zero's list inductee, up on page one, who I put in first place on my main page, Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama. Even though it wasn't that Price Representative guy from Georgia, I am sure he will make the list because of the health care bill, among other things.

John Boehner, he likes to pronounce it baynor, I like it the other way myself, is now #2; I'm still pretty sure they (Boehner & Price) have the same scriptwriters. I am sure there will be additions to the list but as I listen to C-span there are so many too chose from. he's not even swift enough to change a word or two in the speech the Insurance companies TOLD him, and others, (Congesswoman Backman and congressman McHenry are really working hard also to make this list also. (ZERO) If you have a nominee, let me know.

The Senate has scheduled their vote on the Presidents Supreme Court Nominee next week.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham gave a wonderful speech and is supporting the Presidents Supreme Court nomination and I'm mad, because he is the Republican from South Carolina.

I think I've found a crew of ZERO' s; to be led by (new #1, but just barely) Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama and includes all but one of the Republicans on the Judiciary Committee. The Supreme Court nomination and the Health Care Bill debate are sure heating up. But it does look like Sotomayor will be confirmed.

Trina's setting up of that Internet program (skype) to be able to connect with Daniel, and Christopher directly and the video-call I had with Daniel and then Christopher last night, I think has giving me a 4+ rating for this whole last week, and that's not just because I made it to 59.

She was in the neighborhood because she is helping out at the Guard near here, and she said she will help start that Lefty video I've been nagging about.

You would think after nicking our Men and Women in the Guard $65.00 a month for internet access they could at least provide even a little gas money to their volunteers. HINT,HINT

I still don't know yet, if the “soft landing” bill is done but that is one issue I will keep harping on until I am sure.

I owe Senator Wyden an apology, I believe. While “organizing” the “stuff” (old mail etc.) here on my Lazy Boy I did see a mailer from him that showed his plan did provide for a “Guarantee Choice”, a “government” option?

I watched those upstart House democrats rallying on the capital steps yesterday in front of the camera's who were very firm that “rolling over” for the “Blue Dog” Democrats could lose more than they “gain” in any republican support.

Health Care Now !

While we left Montana without seeing Senator Baucus, and his name wasn't mentioned in those TV ads to SUPPORT THE PRESIDENT'S HEALTH CARE PLAN, I did see where he has been targeted by progressives to try to change his mind. I even sent a letter to the Editor of a Montana Paper. I hope all those good Montana constituents I have been visiting with will put the pressure on.

It appears and it is being reported that action on the Presidents Health Care Plan will not be done before the August recess. And Thanks to “Big” Ed Shultz, I hope more people understand “Health Insurance Reform” is not “Health Care Reform.”

http://stories.barackobama.com/healthcare/stories/update_landing

Will you make sure the true voice of the majority is heard? Call Congress and tell them to support a plan that makes health care affordable for everyone: 1-866-210-3678

As health care activists, our calls are especially important right now. Industry lobbyists may have deep pockets, but they can't talk about health care the same way we can. They don't understand what it's like to live this crisis every day - and to have our family members, our friends, and our neighbors struggling to provide decent care for themselves and their loved ones, too.
We get it and we need to make sure Congress gets it, too. Call your member of Congress right now: 1-866-210-3678

As near as I can figure, all that needs to be done for the soft landing at the State Level (Legislature) is complete. I believe the next brick (pillow) to be placed, is the responsibility of the Federal Government and I believe that it is in the hands of our own Senator Wyden. (a safe place for it right now, I hope) but, as that famous live artist says......GET 'ER DONE. - SOFT LANDING !

OK, what did YOU do for the Guard today. Daniel's wife Trina is helping, with a houseful of kids and Daniel in the Middle East.

It's official, Trina did say Cody's job came through, so that cage rattling is over. But still sooooo many cages left!

For Senator Wydens Plan, check it out:

http://wyden.senate.gov/issues/Healthy%20Americans%20Act/HAA_Employee_Examples.pdf

And if you do go, please leave the message........GET “ER DONE - SOFT LANDING

Could a republican from Ohio, Steven LaTourette, be reading my blog? He had 10 minutes today on the floor complaining about the GET 'ER DONE attitude of the President and Democrats.

By the way; You don't have to be a ”wheel” to get heard, just squeak for a while.

Bring our people home!

At the 11th Hour, on the 11th Day, of the 11th Month a cease fire was signed to end the war to end all wars in 1918. How's that worked out so far?

SAVE PUTTS PALACE

Over 50 years ago my uncle “Putt” built a cabin at Georgetown Lake in Montana, (Putts Palace). His cabin at the lake and many others like it developed recreational areas for the use of just regular citizens. And while doing this they protected the environment for future generations. He was not a RADICAL ENVROMENTALIST, he was just a mechanic, a Pearl Harbor Survivor with kids that liked fishing.
He believed everyone owned the lake and deserved access to the Public Lands and then came the “Summer Homes” at the lake, and now thanks to those “absent owners” it appears they are “buying” (LOBBYING) to price the riff-raff out of their real “cabins”. I am not sure if I'm part of the riff, or part of the raff, but as they yelled out the windows in that old famous movie........”I'm mad as hell, and I'm not taking it any more!”

SPORTS

I still think Felix Hernandez is the Cy Young leader right now in the American league, and he has been awesome his last 10+ games, ERA under 1 ½ . before his last outing anyway; but the Mariners should be getting their regulars back before long and whatever you do; don't tell anyone from Anaconda that that Butte catcher is really good, you will for sure catch heck.
OK; I was definitely chastised by one of my many readers, who I believe to be a Sox fan; He is from Chicago, his first name begins with B and after the stomping Felix took last night, he is definely in the running in the American League.

“Wally,
No mention of the perfect game by Mark Buehrle in the sport section of your blog?”

I still think Carlos Zambrano is the Cy Young leader in the National league. Chicago with both the N.L. & A.L., has the same city ever had both? But that kid with the Dodgers is still looking pretty good.

Also, now knowing I am related, GO ST. LOUIS, and I would advise all you FFB people, drafting RAMS players is probably going to be a good move, even though I don't know Paul that well I do know Patti Ann and Bill are first class motivators.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

The American Rights at Work still needs help.

Are there better Community Organizations than the National Guard or the USO?

Here's two, from what I consider the top of the list, the OSBT (Oregon State Building Trades) and the NWOLC (Northwest Oregon Labor Council). Judy O'Connor told me last week she is retiring and Her and Tony are moving to Montana. I have known Judy, and Tony since Lon Immel and Ron Fortune. They taught her well, she learned even better; but I WAS the one to teach her to dance. She will definitely be missed and hard to replace, but whomever does, they will do fine, with aid from everyone.

OTHER STUFF AND COMMUNICATIONS

“GET 'ER DONE” - SOFT LANDING ! And give them back their $40.00!

So it wasn't bad enough our Men and Women in the Guard got nicked $40.00 before they shipped out NOW they have to pay $65.00 a month for internet access. RON....JEFF.....EARL....DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT !

On my HERO list, my nephew Daniel has taken over now! You should know, it's not just because he is my nephew, or just because he is in the Oregon National Guard, serving in Iraq, and I'm sure he will be there for a while longer.

Thanks to his wife Trina, I just finished a video/phone call with him and it was awesome. I did attempt to snap a picture as we said good bye and I will try to post it if I was successful.

I also read that an old friend of mine has announced her candidacy for Secretary Treasurer of the National AFL-CIO. I have known her for a long time and I must say, the AFL-CIO would be well served with her election. Elizabeth Shuler - you go girl!

And, Thank you Brent, that B.D. Card was really cool.

Please, I hope everyone can share the American Rights at Work, the MS walk, the March of Dimes walk, The Epilepsy Run/Walk and the Recovery websites; so my taxes and donations can be utilized to their fullest extent.

Whether you attend a church service, a Mosque, GLBT gathering, or Synagogue service, please say a prayer that God; yours, mine or ours; keeps our service men and women in the Palm of their hand.
(Dianna, Jim, Maria, Hayden, Kelli and her brother also), don't forget the extra one for Dianna.
And thanks again Frances-is (both of you)

Mike; My “short” blog is still to long today, but; thanks to all of you, I am feeling 4+. and where are those promised changes, on my blog? August 1st, maybe?

Now don't forget to say your prayers. I'll see you next time on my blog

AUGUST FIRST - MAJOR CHANGES ?

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 6am to a 2+ after 8+ hours of sleep. And a sunny morning, with VERY HOT projected again today, but it was just over 60 on the east deck at 6:30am. I took my am pills, put out my flag and settled in for some chair massages and turned on my TV. The House of Representatives was doing 1 minute speeches, the Senate had just got started and I'll report more later, under the political section.

While the 26th was my final repeat report on the - The “Monahan” / Pahut / Mehrens / Roche / Sullivan / Lemelin / Lovell Family gathering, I only bring it up again because I got a phone call wishing me a happy B.D. From both Cousin Joe and Cousin Bill. While it won't be part of the “official” reunion, I do believe cousin Billy's trip, he left yesterday , will reawaken the festivities, although he did miss the “official” reunion, there was another Francis that took good stead for him and I hope he has a good, safe trip. He also said, when he turned north at the town of Umatilla, he would wave to the east and see if the the donations I left in charge of the Umatilla Tribe at Pendleton were being used wisely.

Thanks to Nephew Daniels (Dannette's youngest) wife Trina, Judi and I both got to get a video phone call (skype.com) from Daniel in Iraq yesterday. He looked good and it was really special.

Did you know they are charging our soldiers for this access? That's criminal as far as I'm concerned.

And, while I did miss any mention of my uncle Sandy, numerous times, on my Montana trip, and I should have mentioned him before now, I guess he just hid in one of those holes in my brain, I am sorry. I think Billy said he was going to try to stop in Helena on his trip to see Peg and Billy Joe, maybe he will be lucky enough to see Sandy.

I'll still have to tell Dr. Zarelli when I do see him on the 3rd of August that I actually like the heat, but not so much the last few days, and even though we stayed at “Gregson Hot Springs”, now called Fairmont Resort, I did not take advantage of those natural hot spring waters.

I did notice those TV Health Care ads in Montana and I hope Max Baucus has been noticing them also.
I am thinking the new Health Care ads targeting Senator Baucus may get his attention.

My daily prayer is to Mary Mother of God…”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear OUR prayer. I know Daniel was slightly unimpressed with his personal visit with the Governor. I hope he understands that, that trip before they were shipped out was a trip he didn't have to make, but he wanted to make sure, all the troops understood how much they were appreciated. And I'm sure it is not a trip he looks forward to. I still don't know yet, if the “soft landing” bill is done but that is one issue I will keep harping on until I am sure.

I also received a call to action to contact my Senators regarding the “Public Option” in the Health Plan.

I was told by Senator Merkley's office he does support the public option. Senator Wyden's office was a little more vague. As I said in my apology, in his mailer it appears he does favor a “public Option”.

I did tell his office, I have been to HIS plan, published on the web, and I was concerned that I could not find a “Public Option” in it, I guess I just missed it.
As near as I can figure, all that needs to be done at the State Level (Legislature) is complete. I did go to Senator Wydens web site and read his comparatives with the current health care system and I will share It here, even though they don't have a “Wally Welder” comparison, I wouldn't like being on the same page as Senator Lieberman anyway, I am still left with some questions. This is a busy time for grass roots Health Care functions; find one and help out.

I also got a call from AARP and when calling any of your Senators please encourage support for the Schummer, Brown amendment to the Health Care bill, Senator Browns floor speech today was great, they say it is important for prescription costs and helpful to MS patients. I will do more investigation but it was a request from AARP and co-sponsored by Sherrod Brown, who I think is a real star..

So here goes, for Senator Wydens Plan, check it out:

And thanks again Francis (both of you)

Mike; My “short” blog is over 3,000 today, but; thanks to Trina and Dan, I am feeling 4+ and it's under 80 degrees on the south deck even, of course it's not even 9am, and where are those promised changes in my blog? August 1st, maybe?

Now don't forget to say your prayers. I'll see you next time on my blog

Senator Wyden, Senator Merkley, Congressman Blumenhauer, one of your wheels is squeeking!

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 7am to a 2+ after 8+ hours of sleep. And a sunny morning, with VERY HOT projected again today. I took my am pills, put out my flag and settled in for some chair massages and turned on my TV. While it won't be part of the “official” reunion, I do believe cousin Billy's trip, he's leaving today, will reawaken the festivities, although he did miss the “official” reunion, there was another Francis that took good stead for him.

And while I did miss any mention of my uncle Sandy, numerous times, on my Montana trip, and I should have mentioned him before now, I guess he just hid in one of those holes in my brain, I am sorry.

I'll still have to tell Dr. Zarelli, when I do see him on the 3rd of August, that I actually like the heat, but not so much the last few days.

Again, I will say thank you, to all those who joined my request for prayers for my two friends, and now Kelli and her brother also, and the men and women in the service of their State and Country.

I would ask everyone to continue the prayers that can. As I said in my email, I AM living proof of good results. And as I am back to driving, all those OTHER drivers will need those prayers.

That Montana trip really pumped me up to get out more, even in this heat..maybe.

And I do still wish I spent more time with everyone.

I have decided to at least try to be at the Building Trades Convention, as it is taking place at a favorite spot of mine at the coast and I am looking forward to seeing everyone. I also planned to partake in a keno tournament on the way back at Spirit Mountain, but when I made the reservation I asked for a handicap, smoking room, which, it has been pointed out to me, was very rude, because I asked for a smoking room.

I did notice those TV Health Care ads in Montana and I hope Max Baucus has been noticing them also.
I am thinking the new Health Care ads targeting Senator Baucus may get his attention.

My daily prayer is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear OUR prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, especially for my dear friends Dianna, Jim, Kelli and her brother and all in need.

We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”

I found out Saturday that Dianna is taking an experimental treatment for her condition and I would ask everyone to say an extra prayer that the experiment is successful, and thanks to efforts of her GOOD friend Mary, and our continued prayers she may get more help in her Experimentl treatment.

POLITICAL

I did get my second zero's list inductee, up on page one, who I put in first place on my main page. Even though it wasn't that Price Representative guy from Georgia, I am sure he will get on because of the health care bill, among other things.

I watched the Judiciary Committee take their vote (13-6) and I am really mad. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham gave a wonderful speech and is supporting the Presidents Supreme Court nomination and I'm mad, because he is the Republican from South Carolina. I do think I've found a crew of ZERO's; to be led by (new #1, but just barely) Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama and includes all but one of the Republicans on the Judiciary Committee. The Supreme Court nomination appears all but over but the Health Care Bill is sure heating up. But it does look like Sotomayor will be confirmed.

Trina did stop bye and showed us how to set up an Internet program to be able to connect with Daniel, and Christopher directly. She was in the neighborhood because she is helping out at the Guard near here, and she said she will help start that Lefty video I've been nagging about. You would think after nicking our Men and Women in the Guard $65.00 a month for internet access they could at least provide even a little gas money to their volunteers. HINT,HINT

I owe Senator Wyden an apology, I believe. While “organizing” the “stuff” (old mail etc.) here on my Lazy Boy I did see a mailer from him that said his plan did provide for “Guarantee Choice”, a “government” option?

Can we make sure the true voice of the majority is heard? Call Congress and tell them to support a plan that makes health care affordable for everyone: 1-866-210-3678

As health care activists, our calls are especially important right now. Industry lobbyists may have deep pockets, but they can't talk about health care the same way we can. They don't understand what it's like to live this crisis every day - and to have our family members, our friends, and our neighbors struggling to provide decent care for themselves and their loved ones, too.

We get it and we need to make sure Congress gets it, too. Call your member of Congress: 1-866-210-3678

Trina's helping, with a houseful of kids and Daniel in the Middle East.

It's official, Trina did say Cody's job came through, so that cage rattling is over. But sooooo many cages left!

I did go to Senator Wydens web site and read his comparatives with the current health care system and I will share this here, even though they don't have a “Wally Welder” comparison, I wouldn't like being on the same page as Senator Lieberman anyway, I am still left with some questions.

So here goes, for Senator Wydens Plan, check it out:

http://wyden.senate.gov/issues/Healthy%20Americans%20Act/HAA_Employee_Examples.pdf

And if you do go, please leave the message........GET “ER DONE - SOFT LANDING
Also; I will be developing another sub-theme for my political section.

He was not a RADICAL ENVROMENTALIST, he was just a mechanic, a Pearl Harbor Survivor, with kids that liked fishing.
He believed everyone owned the lake and deserved access to the Public Lands and then came the “Summer Homes” at the lake, and now thanks to those “absent owners” it appears they are “buying” (LOBBYING) to price the riff-raff out of their real “cabins”. I am not sure if I'm part of the riff, or part of the raff, but as they yelled out the windows in that famous old movie........”I'm mad as hell, and I'm not taking it any more!”

OK; I was definitely chastised by one of my many readers, who I believe to be a Sox fan from Chicago, his first name begins with B and after the stomping Felix took last night, he is definely in the running in the American League.

ADMONISHMENT:

“Wally,
No mention of the perfect game by Mark Buehrle in the sport section of your blog?”

I still think Carlos Zambrano is the Cy Young leader in the National league. Chicago with both the N.L. & A.L., has the same city ever had both? But that kid with the Dodgers is still looking pretty good.

Also, now knowing I am related, GO ST. LOUIS, and I would advise all you FFB people drafting RAMS players is probably going to be a good move, even though I don't know Paul that well I do know Patti Ann and Bill are first class motivators.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

The American Rights at Work still needs help.

Are there better Community Organizations than the National Guard or the USO?

Here's two in contention, from what I consider the top of the list, the OSBT (Oregon State Building Trades) and the NWOLC (Northwest Oregon Labor Council).

And stop charging them $65.00!

The reason my blog posting is so late is because; Thanks to his wife Trina, I just finished a video/phone call with him and it was awesome. I did attempt to snap a picture as we said good bye and I will try to post it if I was successful.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WALLY

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 8am to a 3 after 10+ hours of sleep,a sunny morning, and with 100 degrees projected again today. I took my am pills and settled in for 4 chair massages and turned on the talking heads. The 26th was my final repeat report on the - The “Monahan” / Pahut / Mehrens / Roche / Sullivan / Lemelin / Lovell Family gathering, bet ya hardly even noticed. I still miss my nephews Daniel, Christopher, and Ryan. I hope Stevie's All Stars did shine and I am sure the heat we will be enduring doesn't even compare to what Daniel is dealing with right now.

And while I did miss and thought of my uncle Sandy, numerous times, on my Montana trip, I should have mentioned him before now, I guess he just hid in one of those holes in my brain, I am sorry.

We did have a visit from Jim and Francis Sunday and Francis was kind enough to present me with a wonderful gift that really fed my soul, before she caught her flight for her presentation in the Caribbean.

I'll still have to tell Dr. Zarelli when I do see him on the 3rd of August that I actually like the heat, but not so much today.

Again, I will say thank you, to all those who joined my request for prayers for my two friends, and now Kelli and her brother also, and the men and women in the service of their State and Country.

By the way; did you know today is the Birthday of a famous Oregonian who has had his own “DAY” proclaimed by our esteemed Governor of Oregon. (By the way; I celebrate that day every day, not just in December) Thank you for the Day, Ted, but your signing of the Soft Landing Bill was/is much more important and please work to get the Fed's to finish the job. (get 'er done!)

POLITICAL

I'll have to keep my second zero's list inductee, here until I figure out how to post on my main page again? He is that Price Representative guy from Georgia, he will get on because of the health care bill, among other things.

John Boehner, he likes to pronounce it baynor, I like it the other way myself, is still #1; I'm pretty sure they (Boehner & Price) have the same scriptwriters. The Supreme Court nomination and the Health Care Bill debate are sure heating up. But it does look like Sotomayor will be confirmed today.

Watching Representative Barney Frank address the National Press Club yesterday morning, and then again on the Rachael Maddow show last night, talking about the Financial mess and how his committee was committed to fix the system. He was very informative and as far as I am concerned He was a spot on all star.

I just received a H.B. call from Trina and she said she will be stopping by tomorrow to show me how to set up an Internet program to be able to connect with Daniel directly. She will be in the neighborhood because she is helping out at the Guard near here, and she said she will help start that Lefty video I've been nagging about. I also received another email request from the Dem's to write a letter to the editor on my personal story on Health Care. I did write another letter but I did not check the box for an Oregon Newspaper, I checked it for the Washington Post and USA TODAY. I did almost immediately get a response from USA TODAY and they thanked me for my letter and told me if they used it they would call first and they receive hundreds of letters each day. (notice the small if)

And; I also received a call to action to contact my Senators regarding the “Public Option” in the Health Plan. I was told by Senator Merkley's office he does support the public option. Senator Wyden's office was a little more vague. As I said in my apology, it appears he does favor a “public Option”. I did tell his office, I have been to HIS plan, published on the web, and I was concerned that I could not find a “Public Option” in it, I guess I just missed it.

I did get an email report on Daniel's visit with Governor Kulongoski. It didn't sound like he was overly impressed, with the Governor, but all those men and women are definitely in need of that soft landing bill. I did email him back and tell him that there will be a new Governor when he and the rest of the “Jane's, and Joe's” get back, due to term limit's, and at least I still think, even as a “short timer” he will do all he can to “cover your backs” and from what I hear there may be a candidate or two running that were also at the muster; hopefully with a memory.
As near as I can figure, all that needs to be done at the State Level (Legislature) is complete. I believe the next brick (pillow) to be placed, is the responsibility of the Federal Government and I believe that it is in the hands of our own Senator Wyden. OK, what did YOU do for the Guard today. Trina's helping at the Guard, with a houseful of kids and Daniel in the Middle East.

Also, take note; I am not done with my cage rattling on Cody's promised job. I haven't received official notice yet (from his Mom or Dad) (I even forgot to ask his Mom today) but his Grama, Danni, thinks it did come through. I watched the KGW local talking heads show Saturday night and the guest was Governor Gregoire and she was in Vancouver working on “Recovery/Education/and I-5 Bridge stuff” I hope that bodes well for Cody.

I did get a response from the Feds following my inquiry, and I will pick up the questioning when I get back from Montana. I did talk to my sister and I think Cody's summer work program is back on.

You can still take a look now at these critical first steps we've taken together and pass it on for others to see:

http://my.barackobama.com/100days

I did go to Senator Wydens web site and read his comparatives with the current health care system and I will share it here, even though they don't have a “Wally Welder” comparison, I wouldn't like being on the same page as Senator Lieberman anyway, I am still left with some questions. This is a busy time for grass roots Health Care functions; find one and help out.

That KGW talk show last night was interesting , but when they follow up they have an issue response from the “Left” and the “Right”. It appears the only “Right” person available is usually that Rush Limbaugh Clone, Lars Larson; and believe it or not the Left was represented by an editorial writer from the Oregonian! (FAIR AND BALANCED ….................RIGHT)

I also got a call from AARP and when calling any of your Senators please encourage support for the Schummer, Brown amendment to the Health Care bill, they say it is important for prescription costs and helpful to MS patients. I will do more investigation but it was a request from AARP and co-sponsored by Sherrod Brown, who I think is a real star..

Barney Frank is great !

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 8am to a 3 after 10+ hours of sleep. And a sunny morning, with 100 degrees projected again today. I'll still have to tell Dr. Zarelli when I do see him on the 3rd of August that I actually like the heat, but my attempt to make John's CPBT meeting tomorrow probably will be delayed.

That Montana trip really has pumped me up to get out more, even in this heat..maybe.

And I do still wish I spent more time with everyone.

I have decided to at least be at the Building Trades Convention, as it is taking place at a favorite spot of mine at the coast and I am looking forward to seeing everyone.

I did notice those TV Health Care ads in Montana and I hope Max Baucus has been noticing them also.

My daily prayer is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear OUR prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, especially for my dear friends Dianna and Jim, Kelli and her brother and all in need.

We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”

I found out that my good friend Dianna is taking an experimental treatment for her condition and I would ask everyone to say an extra prayer that the experiment is successful, and thanks to efforts of her GOOD friend Mary, and our continued prayers she may get more help with her Experimental treatment.

I am not still not sure what has gone on so far on the Supreme court nomination and the Health Care Bill debate is sure heating up.

I did watch Representative Barney Frank address the National Press Club this morning talking about the Financial mess and how his committee was committed to fix the system. He was very informative and as far as I am concerned, He was spot on.

I owe Senator Wyden an apology, I believe. While “organizing” the “stuff” here on my Lazyboy I did see a mailer from him that showed his plan did provide for a “Public” option.

Health Care Now !

While we left Montana without seeing Senator Baucus, and his name wasn't mentioned in those TV ads to SUPPORT THE PRESIDENT'S HEALTH CARE PLAN, I hope all those good Montana constituents I have been visiting with will put the pressure on.

http://stories.barackobama.com/healthcare/stories/update_landing

Will you make sure the true voice of the majority is heard? Call Congress and tell them to support a plan that makes health care affordable for everyone: 1-866-210-3678
As health care activists, our calls are especially important right now. Industry lobbyists may have deep pockets, but they can't talk about health care the same way we can. They don't understand what it's like to live this crisis every day - and to have our family members, our friends, and our neighbors struggling to provide decent care for themselves and their loved ones, too.
We get it and we need to make sure Congress gets it, too. Call your member of Congress right now: 1-866-210-3678

I also received a call to action to contact my Senators regarding the “Public Option” in the Health Plan. I was told by Senator Merkley's office he does support the public option. Senator Wyden's office was a little more vague.

I believe the next brick (pillow) to be placed, is the responsibility of the Federal Government and I believe that is in the hands of our own Senator Wyden. (a safe place for it right now, I hope) but, as that famous live artist says......GET 'ER DONE. - SOFT LANDING !

OK, what did YOU do for the Guard today.

Also, take note; I am not done with my cage rattling on Cody's promised job. I haven't received official notice yet (from his Mom or Dad) but his Grama, Danni, thinks it did come through.

I did go to Senator Wydens web site and read his comparatives with the current health care system and I will share it here, even though they don't have a “Wally Welder” comparison, I wouldn't like being on the same page as Senator Lieberman anyway, I am still left with some questions, but thanks to his mailer public option isn't one of them. This is a busy time for grass roots Health Care functions; find one and help out.

That KGW talk show last Saturday night was interesting , but when they follow up they have an issue response from the “Left” and the “Right”.

So here goes, check it out:

http://wyden.senate.gov/issues/Healthy%20Americans%20Act/HAA_Employee_Examples.pdf

And if you do go, please leave the message........GET “ER DONE - SOFT LANDING
Also; I will be developing another theme for my political section. Over 50 years ago my uncle “Putt” (Putts Palace), a cabin at the lake and many others developed recreational areas for the use of just regular citizens, and while doing it the protected the environment for future generations. He was not a RADICAL ENVROMENTALIST, he was a retired mechanic with kids that liked fishing.

By the way; You don't have to be a ”wheel” to get heard, just squeek for a while.

Bring our people home!

At the 11th Hour, on the 11th Day, of the 11th Month a cease fire was signed to end the war to end all wars in 1918. How's that worked out so far?

SPORTS

Boy, the Mariners sure got stomped again yesterday.............by Cleveland, 3 at home!
I still think Felix Hernandez is the Cy Young leader right now in the American league, and he has been awesome his last 10+ games, ERA under 1 ½ ., and I really thought Ryan R. S. would have done better.
I still think Carlos Zambrano is the Cy Young leader in the National league. He sure looked good in the first of that day/night doubleheader yesterday. But that kid with the Dodgers is looking pretty good.

On my HERO list, my nephew Daniel has taken over now! You should know, it's not just because he is my nephew, or just because he is in the Oregon National Guard, or just because he is fighting the heat in Kuwait/Iraq, I think, as we speak, or even because he is a legacy of past HERO winners.

I also read that an old friend of mine has announced her candidacy for Secretary Treasurer of the National AFL-CIO. I have known her for over 20 years and I must say, the AFL-CIO would be well served with her election. Elizabeth Shuler - you go girl!

And thanks again Francis.

Mike; My “short” blog is just under 2500 today, but I am now feeling 3+.

Now don't forget to say your prayers. I'll see you next time on my blog

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 7:30am to a 2 after 10 hours of sleep. And a sunny morning, with 95+ degrees projected again today. I took my am pills, put the flag out and settled in for 4 chair massages and turned on the talking heads.

Today will be my final repeat report on the - The “Monahan” / Pahut / Mehrens / Roche / Sullivan / Lemelin / Lovell Family gathering. Washoe Park and Art in the Park in conjunction with our gathering was excellent, not withstanding, it was not very scooter friendly, and actually in violation of the ADA. The BBQ at “Putts Palace” was really special, and even though Judi expected me to tumble into the horseshoe pit, I still think she enjoyed it. even though it was crashed by a bunch of Mehrens' it went well and no fights broke out. The Sunni and Sheite could learn from us. I did also missed my nephews Daniel, Stevie, Christopher, and Mike. I hope Stevie's All Stars shine and I did wear my Flag pin for Daniel, and Christopher. I am sure the heat on this trip doesn't even compare to what Daniel is dealing with right now with or without light jacket but they are looking for 95+ to over 100 degrees this week.
We did meet up with Jim and Francis at the $10,000 bar on the trip back and I spoke to Jim last night and they got home without incidence after driving straight through. The trip was a good one and the time just zoomed by, and the heat actually felt good to me, I'll have to tell Dr. Zarelli when I do see him on the 3rd of August. After a bunch of hello's, good to see you's and even though it was very hot for the whole trip, and I did notice that Anaconda was in violation of a number ADA laws which I reported to Jaunita when we got back. I would rate this trip a solid A.

And yes, Judy Bauman Shiprack, the Lemelin's (Jay and Robbie) did remember you from your trip through a few years ago and were glad to hear you are doing so well.

I did get out yesterday again alone.

A short trip to A & W for a burger and fries and a stop at the liquor store for a new keno ticket, maybe they'll name a park after me. That Montana trip really has pumped me up to get out more.

And I do still wish I spent more time with everyone.

HEALTH CARE NOW..........seems to be slipping

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 6:45am to a 2+ after 7 hours of sleep, plus a late nap last night. And a sunny morning, with 95+ degrees projected. I took my am pills and put my back cast on and I think if I can stand it I may get 4 hours in this first setting. I must repeat - The “Monahan” / Pahut / Mehrens / Roche / Sullivan / Lemelin / Lovell Family gathering was a resounding success. Washoe Park and Art in the Park not withstanding. Not very scooter friendly, and actually in violation of the ADA. The BBQ at “Putts Palace” was really special, and even though Judi expected me to tumble into the horseshoe pit, I still think she enjoyed it. even though it was crashed by a bunch of Mehrens' it went well and no fights broke out. And I do still wish I spent more time with everyone.

I did notice those TV Health Care ads in Montana and I hope Max Baucus has been noticing them also.

I did apologize to Juanita, I didn't take the key from my scooter because of you, I was just worried Samantha would be off with it.

My daily prayer is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear OUR prayer. I found out yesterday that Dianna is taking an experimental treatment for her condition and I would ask everyone to say an extra prayer that the experiment is successful.

(a safe place for it right now, I hope) but, as that famous live artist says......GET 'ER DONE. - SOFT LANDING !

OK, what did YOU do for the Guard today.

As I was on my Montana last week I still have some catching up to do, did you all watch for some Hero's and Zero's for me during these past few days?
Also, take note; I am not done with my cage rattling on Cody's promised job. I haven't received official notice yet (from his Mom or Dad) but his Grama, Danni, thinks it did come through.

I did get a response from the Feds following my inquiry, and I will pick up the questioning when I get back from Montana. I did talk to my sister and I think Cody's summer work program is back on.
You can still take a look now at these critical first steps we've taken together and pass it on for others to see:

I did go to Senator Wydens web site and read his comparatives with the current health care system and I will share it here, even though they don't have a “Wally Welder” comparison, I wouldn't like being on the same page as Senator Lieberman anyway, I am still left with some questions. This is a busy week for grass roots Health Care functions; find one and help out.

So here goes, check it out:

And if you do go, please leave the message........GET “ER DONE - SOFT LANDING
Also; I will be developing another theme for my political section. Over 50 years ago my uncle “Putt” (Putts Palace), a cabin at the lake and many others developed recreational areas for the use of just regular citizens, and while doing it the protected the environment for future generations. He was not a RADICAL ENVROMENTALIST, he was a retired mechanic with kids that liked fishing.

By the way; You don't have to be a ”wheel” to get heard, just squeek for a while.
Bring our people home!

At the 11th Hour, on the 11th Day, of the 11th Month a cease fire was signed to end the war to end all wars in 1918. How's that worked out so far?

SPORTS
Boy, the Mariners shure got stomped yesterday.............by Cleveland!

Please, I hope everyone can share the American Rights at Work, the MS walk, the March of Dimes walk, The Epilepsy Run/Walk and the Recovery websites; so my taxes and donations can be utilized to their fullest extent.

Whether you attend a church service, a Mosque, GLBT gathering, or Synagogue service, please say a prayer that God; yours, mine or ours; keeps our service men and women in the Palm of their hand, and (Dianna, Jim, Maria, Hayden, Kelli and her brother also), don't forget the extra one for Dianna.

I'll have to keep my second zero's list inductee, here until I figure out how to post on my main page again? He is that Price Representative guy from Georgia, to give on the health care bill.

John Boehner, he likes to pronounce it baynor, I like it the other way myself, is still #1; I'm pretty sure they have the same scriptwriters. I am sure there will be additions to the list but as I listen to C-span there are so many too chose from. he's not even swift enough to change a word or two in the speech the Insurance companies TOLD him, and others, (Congesswoman Beackman and Congressman McHenry are really working hard also to make this list. (ZERO) If you have a nominee, let me know.

Mike; My “short” blog is over 2300 today, but I am now feeling 3+.

Now don't forget to say your prayers. I'll see you next time on my blog
