SINE DIE.......FOR AWHILE ANYWAY

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 6:45am to a 3 after 10 hours of sleep, and a sunny morning. I took my am pills, with 10mg of my Ritalin and put my flag out and I settled into my Lazy Boy for 4 massages.

My appointment with my NCA yesterday was not as good as past visits and the combination of no Ritalin and a rough NCA session made for a less than optimum day, but I did have a couple of good naps. I did meet another patient of Dr Finley who was also in a “back cast”. He said he had been using it for about 5-6 months and felt it was really doing some good. But, he was also looking forward to getting out of it soon. He said he wore it 7-10 hours a day which was more than I seem to manage I think. I bear it for about 3-6 hours max, maybe twice a day. Dr. Finley said, in his last conversation with the women with MS he has been treating, she said she was determined to get out of her Wheel Chair and that would be quite an accomplishment, because she has been bound to the chair for years. I told him of my planned trip, and attempt at getting my hand controls and he seemed happy for me. He did say, getting some of that independence back would be good for me and I naturally agreed.

I will also again say thank you to all those who joined my request for prayers for my two friends who went through surgery last Wednesday. It appears that friend and brother Jim's stint surgery went well. Imagine, going through an artery through the heart and placing a stint in one of his veins,or arteries, I don't know which, for the 3rd time, on Wednesday morning, and he was released Wednesday night.

Wednesday afternoon friend Dianna had her surgery early in the afternoon and Judi has been checking on her since. She is still in the hospital but they had her up and walking yesterday was a pretty tiring day they are still waiting for the pathology to get back and we are all hoping for good results and a speedy recovery. We still need and want the prayers to continue and I am sure they have been a help so far.

Our “Prayer Chain” for Dianna and Jim is having good results so far, Thank You, and I would ask everyone to continue that can. As I said in my email, I AM living proof of good results.

My daily prayer is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear OUR prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, especially for my dear friends Dianna and Jim, and all in need.

We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”

I did check the cherry tree as I put my flag out and it did not appear to have any birds attacking it, but it also did not appear to have a lot of cherries left.

I missed Senator Merkley's town hall in Gladstone Saturday, but I watched a little of “Big Ed” Schultz (CNBC)last night and he was ranting on some Democrats “rolling over” on the Obama Health Care Plan.

I am still going to try to get a family planning meeting to try to coordinate our trips to Montana. I seem to be bouncing from 60/40 gonna go, to 60/40, can't make it. It looks like the 60/40 go is now 70/30 go. It might take a few days to get there but I made reservations for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Fairmont, and I suppose with enough prescriptions and the sight of everyone I will be fine.

Again, today my format changes may continue. Judi is going to try to get me a Link to my “Hero's” - “Zero's” and “Community Organizations” and “Charities” which are not up yet, but soon I hope.
I checked with my friends in the “BULL SESSION”, and I offered myself and my infamous putter as a donation generator for the 2009 Tournament. The Auction and Tournament are scheduled for September 14th and 15th and I hope make myself available. I also remembered that “March of Dimes” was one of the Children's Charities that was a recipient last year. After talking to Tim (NECA) and Ed (“Director”) it sounded like they liked my idea and I will be talking to Ed later with more details. They also told me that “March of Dimes” was a many thousands of dollars recipient, last year. I am also going to put a link up to their website so, (in case you don't know) you can understand who the “BULLS” are and what they do. It may be a little self serving, but I also think the 3 guys, while driving down I-5, who came up the idea should be on the hero's list, don't you?

And I will keep up Denise's Walk address just in case you were waiting for your pension or retirement check. I did get a couple emails from cousin Bobbie and Denise with the address and I will make another try.

It did work! Even though the “race was over” …................................

POLITICAL

South Carolina's governor is in trouble for supposedly sneaking off to Argentina to see his girlfriend. Hey people it's South Carolina, I think he was trying to work out a secession deal. Besides, as I understand it, he is not even related to the women from Argentina. Also wasn't he one of the LOUDMOUTHS calling for Bill Clinton's Impeachment, and I don't think he even left white house let alone the country?

I still don't know what did happen in Astoria? I did get an email from my friend, and sister, Suzanne saying she really liked my letter. However, I don't know if she read it from my blog or if it was published elsewhere.

Sine Die, at the Oregon Legislature, was yesterday and my Hero's and Zero's list will surely grow.

Come on Salem did you get behind the President, we need that cleaner energy and those good jobs. Buildings, Manufacturing Plants, and an Energy program (see: clean energy and Bradwood Landing).

I used to be the field representative for Local 235, which covered pipeline jurisdiction for the whole state. I am hearing that the “big” concern on the Natural Gas Facility is the distribution pipeline that needs to be built. Maybe the Bradwood people should publish a map that showed all the natural gas mains and distribution lines already in the State? The Mainlines have to be marked on the ground after they are buried or you would never know where they were. I think I will go online and see if I can find that information.

I am trying to keep my grade for the President from falling from a B+ to a C, because of Health Care and American Rights at Work and also getting the Oregon Legislature from a D back to a C.

I have moved the Oregon Legislature down to a D-, right now because I am still watching how, as Peter so eloquently put it, “the Oregon Legislature has Your Back”; to the Oregon National Guard. How about some inexpensive ($40 a month for a computer?) internet access? (I guess it is easier to cover someones back when you are going in circles?) Could that be why they call it a “Rotunda” at the Capital? A candidate for either Hero or Zero maybe here.

OK, what did YOU do for the Guard today.

Health Care Now !

My health care story is posted, so is my cousin Mick Jacques story in Arizona, thanks to Mary Ellen. 30 years in a Wheel Chair, and even on my scooter I think I'd be lucky to keep up with him, awesome upper body strength.

I still have this question? I seem to remember when growing up, they had a “County Hospital” that was for those that couldn't afford Health Care or did not have insurance. All those County Hospitals got taken over or destroyed in the 1950's and 60's, mostly because we did not want to pay for them through taxes. That was over 30+ years ago. Today some the richest Corporations in the country are “for profit” hospitals and insurance companies.
We have been hearing for years (decades even) that we need to DO SOMETHING about health care. I wonder how many Hospitals could be built, and staffed with the MONEY we are paying for Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, Scholarships to Med School, and Nursing. We could even treat Med School scholarships like joining the National Guard or going to one of the Service Academies. You commit to 4-6 years of saving people for the government in one of these “County” institutions, “paid just enough to get by”, just like the services are now. Wouldn't that be a sure bet for an “All Volunteer” program?

President Obama; I am giving him a B+, with his Supreme Court nominee, Sonyamayor, (Yes we Can).
Lindsey Graham S.C. is a jerk, he has called her a racist. Lets see; White Male elected from South Carolina, I am not sure where he goes to get votes and endorsements, and I'm sure he knows a racist when he sees one better than I, but I don't think she is.

From what I've heard of the Presidents Health Care proposals and based on his AMA speech, his Health Care plan does not include taxing fringe benefits otherwise he will surely fall to a C-. And if he can Sheppard the “Employee Free Choice Act” into law he will definitely earn his A.

Does anyone else think it's weird to see Arlen Specter on TV with a D after his name?

Bring our people home!

At the 11th Hour, on the 11th Day, of the 11th Month a cease fire was signed to end the war to end all wars in 1918. How's that worked out so far?

SPORTS

The Dodgers sure looked good Friday but, with Felix is on the mound Saturday there was a rubber game yesterday for the series. Must be why I didn't hear from Marty yesterday afternoon but I do have a spare rubber band as his Dodgers, didn't get one for him. :-p
.
I still think Felix Hernandez is the Cy Young leader right now in the American league.

And even though he was roughed up in his last start, I still think Carlos Zambrano is the Cy Young leader in the National league. But that kid with the Dodgers Friday night looked pretty good.

I am sure Roberto Clemente is looking down with pride.

I still hope to get to a Beaver game even before the “Building Trades Appreciation Night” and San Diego pulls all the talent up. I watched a couple games on FSN and they are very entertaining. I am also looking forward to see the kid from Gresham. I checked on the Beavers website and they are offering “flex” packages that really look like good deals.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

The American Rights at Work ads are getting better all the time.

Are there better Community Organizations than the National Guard or the USO?

Here's two as good, OSBT (Oregon State Building Trades) and , NWOLC (Northwest Oregon Labor Council)

OTHER STUFF AND COMMUNICATIONS

Also, yesterday, I found out the Happy Birthday, I announced? on June 19, was for Molly and Cloe and Grace's brand new baby Brother, Hayden? Oh, by the way, we can add Maria and Hayden Smithson to our Chain. I sure hope Molly and Cloe let Grace and Haden know about my Leprechaun's.

Please, I hope everyone can share the American Rights at Work, the MS walk, the March of Dimes walk, The Epilepsy Run/Walk and the Recovery websites; so my taxes and donations can be utilized to their fullest extent.

Whether you attend a church service, a Mosque, G & L gathering, or Synagogue service, please say a prayer that God; yours, mine or ours; keeps our service men and women in the Palm of their hand.
(Dianna, Jim, and Maria and Hayden also)

I only have one zero's list inductee so far, John Boerner,(sp), he likes to pronounce it baynor, I like it the other way myself. I am sure there will be additions after Sine Die. Again, because, as my father always told me “If you don't have anything good to say..........

I do have a couple more Hero's to nominate but John Smithson, Husband of Maria, Father of Molly, Cloe, Grace and now Hayden and so many YEARS of being outnumbered in that house, he now has an ally. It is now an even match, 4-2,OOOOOOOOh, he deserves a few more days in the “COMMUNICATION” section as a Hero so my occasional reader gets informed.

However; if you happen to be in the Bay Area (San Francisco – Oakland) anytime in July you are in for a treat. Apparently “just having Labor Day in September isn't enough. Keep an eye out for Wyatt's Mom and Dad.

Check out http://www.laborfest.net/2009schedule.htm

Wow; Mike; My blog is over 2,500 today, and I am still feeling 3+.

Now don't forget to say your prayers. I'll see you next time on my blog.

Less new news today as I have an appointment with my NCA this morning and I must get into my “contraption” and prepare.

I will start today again by saying thank you to all those who joined my request for prayers for my two friends who went through surgery last Wednesday. I did check the cherry tree as I put my flag out and it did not appear to have many birds attacking it, but it also did not appear to have a lot of cherries left. I missed Senator Merkley's town hall in Gladstone Saturday. We did not get any cherry pickers over the weekend, but there appeared to be a few cherries left this morning and a few starlings were feasting.

I am still going to try to get a family planning meeting to try coordinate our trip to Montana. I seem to be bouncing from 60/40 gonna go, to 60/40, can't make it.

South Carolina's governor is in trouble for supposedly sneaking of to Argentina to see his girlfriend. Hey people it's South Carolina, I think he was trying to work out a secession deal. Opp's my mistake, it was the Governor of Texas that was threatening secession, it was just South Carolina that started the first Civil War. Besides, as I understand it, he is not even related to the women from Argentina.

John Smithson, a new HERO!

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 6am to a -3 with some lower back pain after 10 hours of sleep, and a cloudy morning. I took my am pills, and put my flag out and I settled into my Lazy Boy for 4 massages.

I realized again at Columbia Park, the best place to “start” community organizations are right at the neighborhood level. Isn't Portland the “City of Parks”, it is summer, talk to your neighbors and have a picnic. (Maybe a Community Organization will spring up)

I still plan to get a permanent link for Denise and her walk or at least make a donation with that information from Bobbie. See the good news in “OTHER STUFF”.

GLORIA'Z on SUNNYSIDE RD A+

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 6am to a -3 with some lower back pain after 9 hours of sleep, and a clear sunny morning. I took my am pills, and put my flag out and I settled into my Lazy Boy for 4 massages.

I will start by saying thank you to all those who joined my request for prayers for my two friends who went through surgery Wednesday. It appears that friend and brother Jim's stint surgery went well. Imagine, going through an artery through the heart and placing a stint in one of his veins,or arteries, I don't know which, on Wednesday morning, and he was to be released Wednesday night. Wednesday afternoon friend Dianna had her surgery early in the afternoon and Judi has been checking on her since. She is still in the hospital but they had her up and walking yesterday and we are all hoping for good results and a speedy recovery. We still need and want the prayers to continue and I am sure they have been a help so far.

I did check the cherry tree as I put my flag out and it did not appear to have many birds attacking it. Unless I miss something besides Senator Merkley's town hall in Gladstone Saturday, I would like to invite anyone who wishes to, to come by this weekend, with their own “cherry pickers”; and gather some cherries for themselves.
Jim did call for an update and I thanked him and updated him on the condition of Dianna and Jim. I am still going to try to get a family planning meeting to coordinate the trip.

Again, today my format changes may continue. My permanent “Hero's” box is not up yet, but I am still not sure how to keep it up and add the other Hero's yet and the “pay pal” box for direct connections to MY charities of choice is not complete yet, so you will have to go directly to their link. If “pay pal” works the way I want, a donation there goes to me for distribution to one of the many I list in my “Community Organizers” section. I will try to keep a running tally. I will also try to keep posting the direct links for those charities.

Our “Prayer Chain” for Dianna and Jim is having good results so far, Thank You, and I would ask everyone to continue that can. As I said in my email, I AM living proof of good results.

And I will keep up Denise's Walk address just in case you were waiting for your pension or retirement check. I did get a couple emails from cousin Bobbie and Denise with the address and I will make another try.

I think I got it? …............. http://efnw.kintera.org/faf/login/page_edit.asp?

Also I have discovered a great new neighboorhood hang out. It is called Gloria'z Pub and Grill and Gloria and Dean are the wonderfull propriators. It is very W.C. and Scooter friendly AND they have as good a Prime Rib Sandwich as I have ever had. It is on the left side of Sunnyside Rd. at 13175 in "Happy Valley". I still like McCools but Gloria'z is just a little more scooter friendly. (too many steps or you have to cruise in traffic, and everyones is always in a hurry at that strip mall.)

POLITICAL

I still don't know what did happen in Astoria? I did get a email from my friend, and sister, Suzanne saying she really liked my letter. However, I don't know if she read it from my blog or if it was published elsewhere.

Today the US House is considering the Energy bill and one prominent Republican explained the Presidents plan will have no effect because, as we all know, the polar caps on Mars are also melting, and apparently he thinks we should put an agreement together with the Martians also.

Come on Salem, not much time left (looks like they are working the weekend) hopefully to get behind the President, we need that cleaner energy and those good jobs.

OK, what did YOU do for the Guard today.

Health Care Now !

My story is posted, so is my cousin Mick Jacques in Arizona, thanks to Mary Ellen.

http://stories.barackobama.com/healthcare/stories/update_landing

President Obama; I am giving him a B, with his Supreme Court nominee (Yes we Can), and from what I've heard of his Health Care proposals and based on his AMA speech, his Health Care plan does not include taxing fringe benefits otherwise he will for surely fall to a C-.

SPORTS

The Dodgers sure looked good yesterday, even with Ichiro swinging a hot bat and Kenji back for their “Calibrate Japanese Baseball” theme. I think Felix is on the mound tonight and we will see if his march to the Cy Young continues?

I still think Felix Hernandez is the Cy Young leader right now in the American league.

I still think Carlos Zambrano is the Cy Young leader in the National league. But that kid with the Dodgers last night looked pretty good.

I am sure Roberto Clemente is looking down with pride.

I still hope to get to a Beaver game even before the “Building Trades Appreciation Night” and San Diego pulls all the talent up. I watched a couple on FSN and they are very entertaining. I am also looking forward to see the kid from Gresham. I checked on the Beavers website and they are offering “flex” packages that really look like good deals.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

I realized again at Columbia Park, the best place to “start” community organizations are right at the neighborhood level. Isn't Portland the “City of Parks”, it is summer, talk to your neighbors and have a picnic. (Maybe a Community Organization will spring up)

I still plan to get a permanent link for Denise and her walk or at least make a donation with that information from Bobbie. See the good news in “OTHER STUFF”.

The American Rights at Work ads are getting better all the time.

Are there better Community Organizations than the National Guard or the USO?

OTHER STUFF AND COMMUNICATIONS

Please, I hope everyone can share the American Rights at Work, the MS walk, the March of Dimes walk, The Epilepsy Run/Walk and the Recovery websites; so my taxes and donations can be utilized to their fullest extent.

Whether you attend a church service, a Mosque, G & L gathering, or Synagogue service, please say a prayer that God; yours, mine or ours; keeps our service men and women in the Palm of their hand.
(Dianna too)(Jim also)

I still have one zero's list inductee so far, John Boerner, he likes to pronounce it baynor, I like it the other way myself. Again, because as my father always told me “If you don't have anything good to say..........so I'll just repeat my reasons for my hero of the week.

Margurite Loretta Monahan Mehrens, better known as Muggs. One claim to fame, was binging me into this world almost 59 years ago. Another was having the gumption to load up 5 kids in a 1959 Plymouth and move, with Lefty, almost 1,000 miles from her home to make a new home, and have new opportunities for her children. A lot of that “extended family” at the park on Saturday made it possible, thank you. The Monahan Clan has a family reunion scheduled in a few weeks in Anaconda, that, good Lord willing and the creek don't rise (and I get and become proficient with hand controls) we will make the trip. As of right now I am not too optimistic.

However; if you happen to be in the Bay Area (San Francisco – Oakland) anytime in July you are in for a treat. Apparently “just having Labor Day in September isn't enough. Check out http://www.laborfest.net/2009schedule.htm

Also, Monday is the end of “Cherry Tree” protection time.

Oh, by the way, the 22nd was my newest hero inductee's Birthday.

Mike; My blog is shorter today, and I am feeling 3+.

Now don't forget to say your prayers. I'll see you next time on my blog.

TGIF

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 7am to a -3 after 8 + hours of sleep, and a partly-cloudy cool morning. I took my am pills, and put my flag out and I settled into my Lazy Boy for 4 massages.

I will start by saying thank you to all those who joined my request for prayers for my two friends who went through surgery Wednesday. I have called cousin Bobbie and Jim to update them and thank them on the condition of Dianna and Jim. I had to leave Jim a message, but I did speak with Bobbie. She told me that Carol Marie was getting nervous about the attendance at the family reunion next month, so if you are a reader and have not confirmed yet, please do. I am also going to try to get a family planning meeting to coordinate the trip.

PETER COURTNEY, IT'S TIME TO STEP UP

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 5:45am to a 3 after 8 + hours of sleep, and a cloudy cool morning. I took my am pills, and put my flag out and I settled into my Lazy Boy for 2quick massages.

I will start by saying thank you to all those who joined my request for prayers for my two friends who went through surgery yesterday. Brother Marty informed me that friend and brother Jim's stint surgery went well and they expected him to be released last night. Imagine, going through an artery through the heart and placing a stint in one of his veins,or arteries, I don't know which, on Wednesday morning, and he was to be released last night. Wednesday afternoon friend Dianna had her surgery early in the afternoon and Judi was sitting vigil at the hospital with her family and it lasted until after 7pm and the surgeon removed one tumor the size of a loaf of bread. She is still in the hospital and we are all hoping for good results and a speedy recovery. We still need and want the prayers to continue but I am sure they have been a help so far.

I did check the cherry tree as I put my flag out and it did not appear to have any birds attacking it, but I did receive the weirdest phone call as I came in from the deck. It was not a text message, it was a call on my house phone, and when I said hello, no one answered, but I could hear birds chirping in the background. I will have to keep a closer eye on the tree today as I saw a couple of starlings and robins that appeared to be “conspiring” in the front yard after I got the phone call. As I sit here working on my blog I can hear, what sounds like a crow, calling me out.

I called cousin Bobbie and Jim last night, after Judi got home from the hospital, to thank them for their thoughts and prayers. I had to leave Jim a message, but I did speak with Bobbie. She told me that Carol Marie was getting nervous about the attendance at the family reunion next month, so if you are a reader and have not confirmed yet, please do.

That darn crow is really irritating me and Senator Specter is on C-span2, I'm not sure which is more irritating. Senator Specter is talking about televising the Supreme Court and it is going to be one of his questions for Judge Sotomayor. I think I'll tape Spector and go check on the crow. The crow's warning gave me enough time to call Marty to see if it was him or his chickens that made the call at 7? He said he didn't and he did not loan any of his chickens his phone. After returning to my fodder checking it did not appear I missed anything in the Senate and I switched to the House and in a whole 30 minutes the republicans did not move to adjourn. Apparently some of the older republicans knee's went out yesterday.

Again, today my format changes may continue. My permanent “Hero's” box is not up yet, but I am still not sure how to keep it up and add the other Hero's yet and the “pay pal” box for direct connections to MY charities of choice is not complete yet, so you will have to go directly to their link. I will check for a direct link for, “DADS DAY”, Dollars against Diabetes.

And I will keep up Denise's Walk address just in case you were waiting for your pension or retirement check. I'll also have to see if my on line attempt worked.

ZERO LIST BEGINS #1 JOHN BOEHNER

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 5:45am to a 3 after 8 + hours of sleep, and a beautiful sunny morning. I took my am pills, and put my flag out and I settled into my Lazy Boy for 2 quick massages.

It was great to get back to Columbia Park saturday and remember all those great memories, even those that have been coming back since. I also missed John Schwab and Lord knows who else and forgetting to mention Mike Penner. I was sorry to hear that Leonard was having such back problems but I was sure encouraged by George to get those hand controls for my car. We used to count kids to determine how everyone was doing. It seems now it's counting canes, walkers, wheel chairs, and I didn't even have a beer. I did also get to have a good conversation with Helen. She told me the girls were still meeting for their lunch's and everyone really missed Mom, and Alice, …...and Dad. She also asked about Dannette and Marty. I did miss seeing any of the Percin's, Kantack's, Schwabs and Driscoll's, but it did sound like Pat Percin and the kids are doing well. Zowie is living with his son, Joe. Maybe others were there and I just missed them, I have MS you know.

My meeting yesterday morning with John and Burton went well and we finally got the PICC signatures changed. I got to Johns office early enough to see many old friends and pass out a few of my new business cards. It was great to see everybody.

I did get my “personal” story posted on the Obama health care “story” website.

Again, today my format changes may continue. My permanent “Hero's” box is up but now I need to put up a link and find a home for the list, it is now 22 members large. Being I have a “Hero's” list; it is only appropriate I establish a “Zero's” list.

If “pay pal” works the way I want, a donation there goes to me for distribution to one of the many I list in my “Community Organizers” section. I will try to keep a running tally. I will also try to keep posting the direct links for those charities.

I did start a “Prayer Chain” for Dianna, and I would ask everyone to join in that can. As I said in my email, I AM living proof of good results. I also found out this morning friend and brother Jim Ellis is having surgery today to have a 3rd stint put in for his heart, please include him in your prayers also.

I will check for a direct link for, “DADS DAY”, Dollars against Diabetes.

And I will keep up Denise's Walk address just in case you were waiting for your pension or retirement check. I'll also have to see if my on line attempt worked.

POLITICAL

I still don't know what did happen in Astoria? I did get a email from my friend, and sister, Suzanne saying she really liked my letter. However, I don't know if she read it from my blog or if it was published elsewhere.

I did get a mailer from Senator Wyden and before (opp's too late) I give him a bad time I guess I should really read his proposal.

I really need to get that “Hero's & Zero's” list updated and going. My Father used to say “If you haven't got anything good to say about someone, then don't say anything”. Sorry Dad, I still need that “ZERO'S” list. If you happen to make the zero's list it does not necessarily mean I don't like you, just that I have been disappointed in you.
My first Zero nominee is the Republican Leader in the House of Representatives, that Boner guy, as I have been working on my blog and trying to listen to C-span he or another Republican has moved to adjourn the house four times in the first 2 hours and “demanded” a recorded (15 minute) vote, and believe me I will try to get his name spelled right as he is the first on my zero list.

Come on Salem, not much time left to get behind the President, we need that cleaner energy and those good jobs. The Mainlines have to be marked on the ground, to be seen from the air after they are buried, or you would never know where they were. Oregon Democrats could help the President by passing HB 3058. I suppose know is a good time to let everyone know...............my Hero AND Zero lists are non-partisan.

I am trying to keep my grade for the President from falling from a B+ to a C, because of Health Care and American Rights at Work and also getting the Oregon Legislature from a D back to a C.
I have moved the Oregon Legislature down to a D, right now because I am still watching how, as Peter so eloquently put it, “the Oregon Legislature has Your Back”; to the Oregon National Guard. (Is it easier to cover someones back when you are going in circles?) OK, what did YOU do for the Guard today. I did email Daniel yesterday, to wish him and the other Fathers in his group (The Oregon National Guard) a Happy Fathers Day, such as it is, and keep me posted, if they need anything.

Health Care Now !

Today some of the richest Corporations in the country are “for profit” hospitals and insurance companies.

President Obama; I am giving him a B, with his Supreme Court nominee (Yes we Can), and from what I've heard of his Health Care proposals and based on his AMA speech, his Health Care plan does not include taxing fringe benefits otherwise he will for surely fall to a C-. And if he can Sheppard the “Employee Free Choice Act” into law he will definitely earn his A.

Bring our people home! Or at least don't charge them for communicating to family!

At the 11th Hour, on the 11th Day, of the 11th Month a cease fire was signed to end the war to end all wars in 1918. How's that worked out so far?

It's still hard to believe that “Big Ed”, Rachael Maddow and Keith Olberman are on the same network as Erin Burnet and Jim Cramer (CNBC)..........recently from SEIU
CNBC isn't exactly a shining example of responsible journalism.  The financial news network has been ridiculed for enabling the financial crisis with flawed reporting and fawning coverage of failed CEOs.
Well, CNBC is at it again.  Yesterday, CNBC's Jim Cramer and Erin Burnett made a ridiculous, irresponsible statement.  Cramer and Burnett compared the aftermath of Iran's recent election to what would happen under the Employee Free Choice Act.

I once heard Peter Courtney of the Oregon Senate say to our National Guard, “The Oregon Legislature has your back!” Why then, when a Guardsman wishes to communicate to a loved one back home they charge them $40.00 a month for computer internet access? Now I know the Oregon Budget is short, but are you trying to alleviate the deficit on the backs of our troops?

SPORTS

The College World Series is going on, good game last night if your a Texas fan, and there are some pretty darn good ball players out there. From what I heard yesterday the Mariners commitments did well in this years Series.

I still think Felix Hernandez is the Cy Young leader right now in the American league.

I still think Carlos Zambrano is the Cy Young leader in the National league.

I am sure Roberto Clemente is looking down with pride.

I still hope to get to a Beaver game before San Diego pulls all the talent up.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

I realized again at Columbia Park, the best place to “start” community organizations are right at the neighborhood level.

I still plan to get a permanent link for Denise and her walk/run, right now you can get there here:

http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=206439510610&h=VyGOF&u=ohEQM&ref=mf

I have a nominee for my zero's list, John Boerner, he likes to pronounce it baynor, I like it the other way myself. Because my father always told me “If you don't have anything good to say..........so I'll just repeat my reasons for yesterday's hero.

Oh, by the way, the 22nd was my newest hero's Birthday.

Could you even say a special prayer for my nephews Daniel, Christopher, Ryan and all the families separated right now. And, ANYONE, not just me, facing some health challenges today.

Mike; My blog is almost 1800, I'm posting and I am feeling 3+.

Now don't forget to say your prayers. I'll see you next time on my blog.

MUGGS GETS 2 DAY'S OF THE HEADLINE

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 5am to a 3 after 8+ hours of sleep, and a sunny morning. I took my am pills, and put my flag out and I settled into my Lazy Boy for 2 quick massages.

I did chase a few birds from the cherry tree this morning and we still have some bright red ones. Judi did pick some last night, but she is only 5' 3” but she did get a handful.

It was great to get back to Columbia Park and remember all those great memories. I did miss seeing any of the Percin's, Kantack's and Driscoll's, but it did sound like Pat Percin and the kids are doing well. Zowie is living with his son, Joe. Maybe they were there and I just missed them, I have MS you know.

I have a meeting this morning so I don't expect to get posted until this afternoon but I did get an email from the Barack Health Care people, and the posted my “story” on their website.

I did start a “Prayer Chain” for Dianna, and I would ask everyone to join in that can. As I said in my email, I AM living proof of good results.

I did get a mailer from Senator Wyden, and before (opp's too late) I give him a bad time, I guess I should really read his proposal.

Come on Salem, not much time left to get behind the President, we need that cleaner energy and those good jobs. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUGGS

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 5am to a 3 after 8 hours of sleep, and a partly-sunny morning. I took my am pills, and put my flag out and I settled into my Lazy Boy for 2quick massages.

No robins in the cherry tree this morning and we still have some bright red ones. Thanks to Mike and Cody, we did get a handful and put them in the fridge for Judi after we got home from the picnic Saturday. The picnic was great, as usual. It was great to see Leo and Helen and their clan, George Fortune, the Cullerton's and everyone else. Annie is still the darling of the whole bunch. It was also a joy to see Ted and Mary at something besides a “function”. I am sure some remembered we were coming up on Mom's Birthday today but I am glad no one mentioned it.
It was great to get back to Columbia Park and remember all those great memories.
She also asked, and I tried to fill her in, about Dannette and Marty. I did miss seeing any of the Percin's, or Kantack's, but it did sound like Pat Percin and her kids are doing well. Zowie is living with his son, Joe.

Judi, “The Trucker” and the convoy made it home without incident and got Steph all moved into her “ground level” apartment. I did feel bad that I couldn't help, but that feeling soon went away. And both her and Rhett stopped by to say hi.

Again, today my format changes may continue. My permanent “Hero's” box is not up yet, but I am still not sure how to keep it up and add the other Hero's yet and the “pay pal” box for direct connections to MY charities of choice is not complete yet, so you will have to go directly to their link. HAPPY FATHERS DAY

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 9am to a 3+ after 10 hours of sleep, and a partly-sunny morning. I took my am pills, and put my flag out and I settled into my Lazy Boy for 2 quick massages.

A reminder, I have had a new nominee for my hero's list, Dianna Paulie McCoy.
We met on the Mondale, Ferarro Presidential campaign. I didn't find out until after the campaign that she was the widow of a boat yard hand from the painters, I think. A much more faithful Democrat than I, and an excellent teacher of the Political System to many of my brothers and sisters, the blood in her veins runs through a number of Iron Workers, that's another reason I like Local 29. Sheis also proud to be Irish, maybe even a relative; I just wish she was a better card player.

Could you even say a special prayer for my nephews Daniel, Christopher, Ryan and all the families separated right now. And, ANYONE, not just me, facing some health challenges today.

Mike; My blog is over 1500 and I am feeling 3+, but pretty tired from my outing yesterday, thanks again, Mike and Cody.

Now don't forget to say your prayers. I'll see you next time on my blog.
