"No soup for you"!

PERSONAL

Today I awoke about 7:30am to a 3. After my am pills and 1 stint in my chair I am back here to post at a 3+. I forgot to take my pm pills with me last night and also forgot my stay awake afternoon pill, even so I lasted till after 7pm for my visits to nephew Daniels for my sisters BD celebration and cousin Jim’s to watch the Ducks shatter the Beavers Rose Bowl plans. Based on the score, a number of goats were protected, but alas, some were sacrificed. I was the only one there rooting for the goats…er…. the Beavers, sorry Scott. I do plan on making it to brother Marty’s today and I sure hope I remember my pm pills and booster this time. Also, Danni; call us if you need a ride to Salem. Being surprised by Marty’s Christopher, as we were leaving, was also very special. And Jim, don’t forget Judi’s O’bama poster Friday, or “no soup for you”!

POLITICAL

I have nothing to report here because I missed the talking heads this morning. I’ll just leave you with “Be the deaf Frog”!

SPORTS

Hide the goat’s FFB starts in a ½ hour.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

Even though brother-in-law Mike passed on this year we still have a Teamster in the family with Doug and that should make Al, Lynn, and Bill happy. Dereka seems to be enjoying her new job at the Labor Council in San Jose and I even got to tell her my Biker story, last night.

OTHER STUFF AND OBSERVATIONS

It’s a really short blog today, because I have to donate to the kids and get ready for Marty’s gathering.

Well, I’ll see you next time on my blog…………..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNETTE !

PERSONAL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANNETTE ! I awoke this morning about 7:30am to a 3- after a very good nights sleep of 9+ hours with just the slightest backache, which accounts for me feeling just under a 3. I am now at my computer to post. After my noon pills and 5 stints in my chair, I’m feeling like a 3.5+. We plan on making it to Daniel’s for their celebration of his Moms birthday and then stop by Jim’s to see Doug and Dereka, those notorious California “community organizers”. The plan is to watch the “Civil War” at Jimmys and I will probably be the only one there rooting for the Beavers. It should be a good tip on weather everyone has locked up their goats yet?
I watched that PBS special again today on the life of John F. Kennedy. The similarities between then and now are spooky!

POLITICAL

The news has been flooded with the reports on what’s going on in India. They really like calling those criminals “Terrorists”; but as far as I’m concerned they are “criminals”; and that has nothing to do with their religion.

SPORTS

I am a big Duck fan, but in spite of that fact, I’ll be rooting for the Beavers, and even though the McCain Pailin people down the street are the local Beaver Boosters; I’m going to go with old buddy Scott’s Beavers.

I’m still picked to win in FFB by double digits so would you all please get your goats into the barn!

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

On behalf of cousins Doug and Dereka; I will be spotlighting ACORN today. 52 days till the whole nation celebrates that other "community organizer".

OTHER STUFF AND OBSERVATIONS

After all this time I intend to make it official. Dannetes Birthday IS November 29th and Mikes IS November 24th.
After all, I was the only one around for both of them!
But, Mike and Debbie, you can still celebrate for the whole month if you want!

I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving, and if your traveling today I hope you all get where your going safely.

After receiving a number of confirmations so far, my card party is close to being full. I’m really looking forward to it.
And Joe, I hope you got the directions all right.
Lock down all your goats before football tomorrow, I still need them isolated for my FFB games tomorrow! Please!

Keep those prayers and good thoughts flowing! And thanks, again Toto, and Kelli, Danni and Heidi and Judith!

Also a big shout out to Garrison Keiler, and all his prairie home companions for reminding us to be the deaf frog!

Short post today as I still have more turkey to eat.

Well, I’ll see you next time on my blog…………..

Go Beavers ?

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning about 7am, to a 3+. I took my am pills and then came back here to get started on my report. I had a good nights sleep and skipped my 1st chair session to get started right away.
My 3+ this morning I will attribute to my sister Danni’s wonderful gathering yesterday, excellent turkey and dressing, and a small piece of heavenly pie. Even though I took my little “stay-awake” booster pill and one of those excellent pain pills and with a short stint on her massage chair I still couldn’t last till the guest of honor arrived. Thanks to a tip from nephew Mike I did get to call before I retired for the night and spoke to him and hopefully I’ll see him before the weekend is over, he is coming to our neighborhood to visit mom and dad. I also have to say that all the wee ones had more consideration than many of those adults I encountered in Las Vegas a few weeks ago.
All of my nephews and nieces, sister and brothers should be proud of the next generation brood they are all raising. I was also informed that the turkey population near Lacenter Washington is experiencing a population explosion, more on that later in my sports report. And a special thanks to Heidi for trying to get this man his dew on such a special occasion. I also plan to add a direct connection to our other website at smiling partners dot com this weekend, it should be expecially good for those readers of those other forms of communication besides my blog,--BOOKS!--

POLITICAL

To what’s left of my Republican friends; I have to say. If you want to expand further you have to get back to your roots, and I don’t mean the pulpit; I do mean the party of the likes of Tom McCall, Mark Hatfield and Vic Atiyeh.

SPORTS

After watching the Seahawks-Dallas game last night I concluded Lacenter wasn’t the only place in Washington that was experiencing a turkey population explosion!
The Civil War today should be very good also. I am a big Duck fan, but in spite of that fact, I’ll be rooting for the Beavers. They are both rated in the top 25 in the nation. And, even though the McCain Pailin people down the street are the local Beaver Boosters; I’m going to go with old buddy Scott’s Beavers.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

I’m not sure if the USO had anything to do with getting nephew Chris upgraded to 1st class for his flight home yesterday, but in any case; Thank You, USO, Delta Airlines, sister Danni and niece Heidi.

OTHER STUFF AND OBSERVATIONS

I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving, and if your traveling, I hope you all get home safely.

After receiving a number of confirmations yesterday, my card party is close to being full.

I also found out yesterday that my niece-in-law Trina is an avid blog reader, thank you too Trina!

Lock down all your goats before football tomorrow, please!

Keep those prayers and good thoughts flowing! And thanks, again Toto, and Kelli, and Danni and Heidi!

Well, I’ll see you next time on my blog…………..

New blog follower exposed!

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 6:30am to a 3 and a good nights sleep of 8/10 hours. After my pills and 1 session on my chair, a short viewing of the news of the day and a check of a beautiful morning outside, I am in here at 3+ to post my blog.
Has anyone noticed that I have a new blog follower? I don’t know who it is, but I have a suspicion. I’ll have more on that later.
My nephew Christopher has been running through airports yesterday and today in an attempt to get home for Thanksgiving dinner. If you are traveling at all in the future through airports and see a service person, don’t just say thank you, ask them if they need anything? I haven’t finished my “letter to the editors or congressional delegations” yet; but I want Ron, Earl, Brian, Jeff and Willy to know, when I find out the particulars of his odyssey, I WILL be in touch.

POLITICAL

Do you suppose, if the current political hacks were in power in the 1920’s and 1930’s, that Bonnie and Clyde and John Dillinger would have been called terrorists or the criminals that they were?

SPORTS

I’m still picked to win in FFB by double digits so would you all please get your goats into the barn!
Even though Greg Oden trimmed his beard; after last night’s game, the Blazers still remind me of 1977.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

My shout out today goes out to the USO; especially, those that may be working in airports all across this country.

OTHER STUFF AND OBSERVATIONS

If you happen to be a devoted blog reader, and have been following my train of thought the last few weeks, and watch the Rachel Maddow show or Countdown with Keith Olberman, this is where I say who I believe is my newest blog follower.
Could they be a CNBC producer? Both of those shows are well known for collecting and exposing goats, and they do it rather well I think!
I’m not looking for any show credits from the show Tuesday or Wednesday, but would you at least, hide the goat!

I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving, and if your traveling, I hope you all get home safely.

I’m still waiting for some confirmations for my card party of December 5th.

Keep those prayers and good thoughts flowing!

And thanks, again Toto, and Kelli!

Well, I’ll see you next time on my blog…………..

Employee Free Choice Act dot Org

PERSONAL

I awoke today at 8am to a 3-, after a good 10 hours of sleep. After my am pills and a look outside to a gorgeous yet cool morning and 1 session on my chair I am back here to post at a 3+. I realized yesterday that I have had that chair since we bought this house and that means it has served me well for almost 10 years. Thank you Lazy-Boy!

I have an announcement to make: I have been invited to meet with the Governor General of Ireland at a reception in Downtown Portland, and participate in the Dedication of the Irish Cross at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in the morning on December 13. I am going to make every attempt to be there for both; I guess I better check to see if my AOH dues are current?

POLITICAL

At first glance this morning at the TV, the DOW was up 40+ points and Bush was doing the annual pardoning of the Thanksgiving Turkey. It looked like it was going to go a little better than the Palin attempt earlier. I have not checked to see who are the 14 Turkeys were he pardoned yesterday but at least those 14 Turkeys didn’t suffer the same fate as the other incarcerated Turkeys in the Palin pardon announcement!

Watching the Obama announcement on his Economic advisors has really got the Chamber of Commerce in a tizzy! I wonder how much more money they will be spending against the Employee Free Choice Act before O’bama gets sworn in. At least the Pro Free Choice Act people are responding and they have a web site; I’ll try to put up the link in my Community Organizers section.

SPORTS

Maybe I’ve been asking to much for all you Liberal “PETA” readers to sacrifice a goat or go eat at a Greek restuarant, just for me and my FFB team. So I’ll change my tactics and just ask you to lock them in the barn till Monday. After dropping one of my defenses and picking up Miami’s defense I am favored by double digits, so, LOCK EM UP! Before the Blazer game tonight, if you will!

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

employeefreechoiceact.org Well: I tried anyway. I still plan on making a direct connection to our book reading website at Smiling Partners dot com for all you that read for pleasure.

OTHER STUFF AND OBSERVATIONS

I saved the half hour O’bama infomercial from just before the election and watched it again this morning. It was just to good to delete, so I saved it again.

I’m still waiting for some confirmations for my card party of December 5th.

Keep those prayers and good thoughts flowing!

And thanks, again Toto, and Kelli!

Well, I’ll see you next time on my blog…………..

ROBERT REDFORD is one of us!

PERSONAL

I awoke at 7:15am to a 3-. After my am pills and a very good nights sleep of 9 plus hours and 1 chair session, I am in here to post at a 3+. I went on a number of errands yesterday, about 4 hours worth, with Marty as my driver and when I got home I took a nap. I am going to blame the awakening at 3- to not taking my keep awake pill yesterday, cause being out with Marty for four hours I still felt like a 3+ when he brought me home. And yes, he did bring over what was left of Mikes Birthday Cake; for Judi of course! I watched the O’bama cabinet announcements yesterday, and no sign of Hillary, Daschel, or Richardson.

POLITICAL

On CNN this morning Bush was speaking at the Kentucky Military Base, Fort Campbell, BOOYA; the DOW was down 45 points, when I changed channel to CNBC the Market trying to recover; then Grover Norquist said the Whole Crash was caused by the Democrats take over of Congress in 2006, he also blamed FDR for taking a small Hoover recession and turning into the Great Depression.

Robert Redford was on the Rachel Madow show last nite to tell us Bush opened a Utah National Park to Drilling on Election Day, he is pissed, only 5 days left to object.

The DOW at first check this morning was down 40+ points. And as I said earlier, according to Grover Norquist, FDR was the cause of the great Depression and it was Clinton and Obama that caused the current Problems. I have started a letter I plan to send to all our congressional delegation; and if I can shorten it up maybe even to Mike at the Labor Press (Beware Mike!) By the way Mr. Gutwig, someone at the Birthday Party Friday night told me they thought I wrote regularly for the Labor Press.

Hillary for Secretary of State, still sounds good to me! And Daschel for head of HHS is also a good move. And Richardson for Commerce! If so, then the rumors of appointing; Richardson, Daschel and Clinton are VERY good moves by O’bama. I really believe with those 3 appointments Organized Labor will be in great shape in the new administration!

SPORTS

In FFB I did end up loosing; so I fell out of a tie for 1st in my Division. I was ahead by 3 touchdowns when all my players had played, my opponent only had 2 players left to play, and then somewhere, someone snuck a goat into a game and I lost by 30+ points.

As I reported on election night; the celebrations seen on my way home made it seem like 1977 again and watching the Blazers lately takes me back to that time also.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

Remember, all you can do, is what you can do; just do all you can do!

And another big shout out to Robert Redford, for pointing out that sneaky attempt by Bush on election night to give the Oil and Mining Companies access to that National Park in Utah. Remember there is only 5 days left to object. I OBJECT!

OTHER STUFF & OBSERVATIONS

Keep those prayers and good thoughts flowing!

And thanks, again Toto, and Kelli! And we did finally get most of our cake! And while it wasn’t a June cake (for Dianna and Jim) it was still pretty good. And thanks to the delivery of the cake and some more Robitussen cough medicine Judi is actually feeling better today than yesterday.

Well, I’ll see you next time on my blog…………..

Cheney's been indicted also

PERSONAL

I awoke at 6am to a 3+. After my am pills and a very good nights sleep of 9 plus hours and 2 chair sessions, I am in here to post at a 4-. I did text brother Marty and he was surprised I could actually text him. After he called me I told him I had a quick texting lesson from nephew Mike yesterday. He was actually surprised I was operating in a 21st century communication mode. I didn’t ask him if he ate the birthday cake Debbie sent over from Mikes “Surprise” Birthday party Saturday night. I finally went to bed last night at about 9pm, after experiencing a 4+ most of the day. And again, I must reiterate, for all those Chamber of Commerce a##*&%$#, I will report that democracy is alive in my union and growing throughout the land! Don’t forget I suggested that all who consider Health Care a high priority for the next President, to make some notes on what you think is needed and THEN go to the computer and do a search for the O’bama plan and compare with your notes and needs. I am also anxious to see the O’bama cabinet announcements today; they are reporting that Tom Daschel is being considered for Health Czar. Also, my one on one discussion with niece Crystal and nephew Mike, around that roaring elk hunt fire in the back yard fire, got me as close to feeling like the 5 and I really believe they were as much responsible for my feeling four-ish yesterday.

POLITICAL

The DOW at first check this morning was up 250+ points and rising to 310+, then CNBC cut to a statement being made by Bush and Paulsen. In the 2/3+ minutes of their statement the market dropped 30 points.

Hillary for Secretary of State, Still sounds good to me! And Daschel for head of HHS is also a good move.

Is D.O.L. part of the Commerce Department or H.H.S.? If so, then the rumors of appointing Richardson and Daschel are both good moves by O’bama.

SPORTS

In FFB yesterday I was checking the web and “live scoring” and I was ahead by 3 touchdowns when all my players had played, my opponent only had 2 players left to play, then somewhere, someone snuck a goat into a game and I lost by 30+ points!

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

I am going to send my special thanks here to Marty’s “significant other” “Kelli”. She works as an advocate for the Veterans Administration, not just my ride to important functions like Saturday night. I don’t know why I keep calling her Vicki, but I’ll blame the holes in my head, even though it was both Her and brother Marty that kept Judi’s piece of BD cake.

I received the following notice from my friends at the Labor Education and Research Center:

THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF PORTLAND, OREGON IS SEEKING A DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND ADMINISTRATION, SALARY NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING UPON QUALIFICATIONS - UP TO $110,000 PLUS PENSION AND EXCELLENT FRINGE BENEFIT PACKAGE
A good place for a Pro-Union Community organizer.

Pills or People?

PERSONAL

I slept in till 7:15am this morning and awoke to a 4+. After my am pills and a very good nights sleep of 7 plus hours, I am in here to post at a 4+. Thanks to brother Marty and his significant other Kelli, I made Mikes “Surprise” Birthday party last night. It was great to see everyone and of course they all lied to me and said I looked good. I lasted longer than I thought and I must say that being around family and friends, seems to me, has as much a positive medicinal effect as all my pills combined, along with 4/5 shots of that liquid Irish medicine in an imported pure glass from Ireland.
One of Mike’s guests was the Brother he nominated for the Executive Board last night. After many discussions with him, “not making my long story short” as we all know I can’t do anymore; and a “short” history lesson on Local 235 and 290, I am firmly convinced that my FIRST endorsement in 290’s upcoming election of Bill Duke for the Executive board is not solely based on brother Mikes nomination of him.

Seeing and talking to Marty, Kims, and my good friend Linda, was also very special. And again, I must reiterate, for all those Chamber of Commerce a##*&%$#, I will report that democracy is alive in my union and growing throughout the land! I will now suggest that all who consider Health Care a high priority for the next President. Make some notes on what you think is needed and THEN go to the computer and do a search for the O’bama plan and compare your notes and needs with his plan.

The banner at the back of the podium Friday night, "In Unity There is Strength" would have looked good at Mikes Party last night. Also, my one on one discussion with niece Crystal and nephew Mike, around that roaring elk hunt fire in the back yard, got me as close to feeling like a 5 as I have since my diagnosis. I sure wish Judi felt well enough to be there with me, but at least she awoke feeling a little better this morning. It will be a short blog this morning, because I’ve got football to watch.

POLITICAL

Sorry for being repetitive here, but I’ve been unusually busy the last couple days.

Hillary for Secretary of State, Still sounds good to me!

Is D.O.L. part of the Commerce Department? If so, then the rumors of appointing Richardson is another good move by O’bama.

SPORTS

In FFB big Ben got me off to a good start for the weekend, now I need everyone else to step up.

Does the Blazers Greg Oden remind anyone else of that center from 1977 for them?

THE RACE IS ON!

PERSONAL

I slept in till 9:30am this morning and awoke to a 3-. After my am pills and a very good nights sleep, I am in here to post at a 3+. Thanks to brother Marty I made my Union meeting last night. It was great to see everyone and of course they all lied to me and said I looked good. The meeting hall was full but I did find a seat. I lasted longer than I thought but alas I couldn’t make it to brother Mikes report and I didn’t succeed in convincing cousin Bill to run for the E-Board.
Brother Al and his red shirt supporters made quite the show. For all those Chamber of Commerce a##*&%$# I must report that democracy is alive in my union, at least. I hope everyone there noticed the banner at the back of the podium, “ In Unity There is Strength”. That is not an endorsement of John or Al, it’s just a statement of fact.

The Irony of this elections similarity to 1980 was not lost on me, Paul Kimberling vs. Greg Deblock I also handed out some invitations to my blog and maybe we will get a few more readers. My best advice to both Al and John is, “Be the Deaf Frog”! I still plan on making brother Mikes B.D. party tonight, provided Judi is feeling better and I’m still at 3+.

POLITICAL

Hillary for Secretary of State? Sounds good to me!

Is D.O.L. part of the Commerce Department? If so, then the rumors of appointing Richardson is another good move by O’bama.

SPORTS

In FFB, Big Ben got me off to a good start for the weekend, now I need everyone else to step up.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

I want to give a shout out to Dave Stahley for his work on our Member Assistance Program. Also one to my friend, Glenn, of L.C.S.A., they are both doing the Lords work.

The Cowlitz tribe still needs help in SW Washington.

Also “job well done”; to any and all friends and helpers in the Salem, Albany area. As a “Former, Pepsiholic”; I would like everyone to find something else to drink if they could.

Union Meeting Tonight!

PERSONAL

I awoke at 6:15am to a 3-. Took my pills and after 2 sessions in my chair at about 8am I came back here to work on my blog, with my first look at CNBC, the talking heads were looking for a “Black” Friday today, even though the market was up over 45 points and gas was down to $1.04. When I came in here to work on the blog, Paulsen was talking and the market was resuming its dive. When I went to Cspan 2, at a 3+, by the way; Senator McConnel of Kentucky was commenting on his meeting with the O’bama people and he was optimistic that they were going to govern from the middle; that is his definition of the middle though. The advice he gave was to make sure they do not bring up "The Employee Free Choice Act". He called on all Democrats in the “Right to Work” for less States to be “vigilant”, unless they want the US to become more like England, France and Germany. His talking point’s seemed to be right from the Chamber of Commerce playbook! Watch for the return of “Freedom Fries”!

I have every intention to make my Union meeting tonight, even after being in here for an hour I feel like a 4.

POLITICAL

I watched Cspan2 yesterday. They cover the Senate. It’s a violation of their rules to have a standing ovation in the Senate Chamber. The Rule was apparently waived after Senator Ted Stephens gave his farewell address. And like O. J. he is going to work diligently to clear his name. And like O. J., he is guilty as charged. Of course that’s just my opinion. I wonder if they will become cell- mates?

I know this sounds like harping, but, O’bama; be the deaf frog!

SPORTS

My FFB Quarterback got me off to a good start for this weekends action last night.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

I haven’t heard back from my “anonymous” blogger commenter on the Cowlitz Casino project, maybe they actually read the agreements reached?

OTHER STUFF & OBSERVATIONS

I’m still, of the mind, to not post comments from anonymous sources and I have MY comment under Community Organizers for that reason.

Hillary for Secretary of State? Sounds good to me!

Thanks, again Toto!

Happy Birthday Joe!

November 20, 2008

PERSONAL

I awoke at 7am to a 3 after a good nights sleep. After I took my pills and one session in my chair, I came back here to post at a 3+. When I went on line to check messages I had one comment. It was an anonymous comment, I won’t be posting it, but I will be commenting on it later. I did not make the Mayor Potter breakfast, and the Retiree meeting is pretty iffy right now. It’s not because I don’t feel up to it but Judi went to bed last night with a nasty cold and she could use the rest to get well before Dianna gets here for her canasta lesson. (;-P) Judi cleaned up my computer yesterday to help get rid of my MS by proxy problem. We didn’t cure it but it sure operates faster.

Yesterday in PERSONAL comments I forgot to say that my Kaiser Primary Dr. also liked my little story about the 94year old man that wanted a viagra prescription.

Judi’s still not up yet but Marty may come by to give me a ride over to the hall and I might still catch the tail end of the retiree’s meeting?

Starting in December, I think I will start selling stuf on my blog. For those who wish a jump on the competition, check out smilingpartners.com.. And yes, it is a family run business.

POLITICAL

Today is Joe Bidens 66th birthday. I feel I would be very comfortable if I was at his BD party today.

If the 2 Senate races that are left to be determined go the right way, O’bama will have a veto proof Senate. Go Franken and also I hope Max Cleland gets his revenge.

SPORTS

I did not hear from my FFB league about my waiver request yesterday. Could it be MS by proxy?

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

As I said earlier, someone (anonymous) objected to my request for help for the Cowlitz Casino. I posted my plea under community organizers because I was in involved in the negotiations with the Cowlitz Tribe in their attempts to mitigate any adverse effects the Casino might create and I still think they did an excellent job in that respect. So, while “anonymous” may object to the added traffic, or influx of “unsavory” characters like me that may be drawn to a Casino I think SW Washington could use the “jobs” it would create.

Could “anonymous” be a shill for the “Chamber of Commerce”, just objecting to anything union?

OTHER STUFF & OBSERVATIONS

I’m still, of the mind, to not post comments from anonymous sources and I have this comment under Other Stuff for that reason.

Keep those prayers and good thoughts flowing!

Thanks, again Toto!

Well, I’ll see you next time on my blog…………..

HELP THE COWLITZ, PLEASE.

November 19, 2008

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 7am to a 3+, took my pills and 1 session in my chair and I was off to see my primary care Dr. at Kaiser. I spent an hour with her and told her about my supplements and their effects and my visits with my “NCA” and his advice about the “removable Body cast”. She can refer me if he is a Kaiser listed Chiropractor and I need to check on his body cast to see if it has a name, so she can prescribe it. We both figure that he is not and his removable cast is not a “Kaiser” listed device, but I will do some checking. We talked about all my pills, prescriptions, vitamins, and supplements. She was very interested and happy with my BP results to date. She suggested I eliminate my am blood pressure pill and maybe even my am water pill. She then sent me off to the local vampire to take blood and schedule a fasting blood test. After we were finished and heading home I felt I was at a 3 to 4, after my chair session at home. After my NCA visit yesterday and Kaiser visit today I’m feeling like I can make the retiree’s meeting tomorrow, the Union meeting Friday and Mikes BD party Saturday, maybe even a road trip Sunday or Monday?

For all my zillions of followers and relatives in the Vancouver, Clark County area, would you please help out the Cowlitz Tribe and their attempt to locate their casino, so my road trips would be less than a couple hours? Thank; You followers, the Tribe and the Community Organizations, who will benefit!

POLITICAL

The DOW was up at first check and the House and Senate were back for their “Lame Duck” session. I still haven’t heard from cousin Bill, on if he was going to run for the Local’s E-board yet, but I hope he does. That would be a good incentive for me to make Friday nights meeting.

SPORTS

After I post, I’ll check and see if my waiver offer was accepted. I also watched the Blazers last night at Golden State. They lost, but Greg Oden sure looked good.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

NWOLC is doing a breakfast Thursday morning with Mayor Potter, I will also try to make that, but Thursday is getting to be a very busy day for me, but I would encourage anyone who can, try to make it.

OTHER STUFF & OBSERVATIONS

Keep those prayers and good thoughts flowing!

Thanks, again Toto!

1 Month Updates

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 6am to a 3 and after my pills and 1 chair session I was at a 3+. Senate was back today with committee meetings on the “bailout plan” there is supposed to be a report on Senator Stephens of Alaska today sometime. I will be doing an update of past blogs because I have an appointment with my NCA this morning. Hopefully he will prepare me for the Union meeting Friday night. I also see my Primary Care Doctor at Kaiser tommorrow.

UPDATES

On October 6, 2008 I suffered my first FFB loss.

I need to Check on Brandi Hindman and the baby.

On October 9th I got new thrones, toilets.

On October 10th, The R’s and talking heads are blaming Democrats for the Market and Housing meltdown. It’s all those dam liberal bankers and homebuilders! Getting those dam “people” (read…….Minorities) into homes they could not afford. Must be what happened to Johnny Carsons. Ed Mcman?

Note to everyone, Just because I’ve been diagnosed with M.S. it doesn’t mean I am suddenly stupid, I just move slower.

Another Shout out to Craig Peterson Plumbing and Trevor, Thanks for the two new thrones.

If you need a good UNION Plumber I would highly recommend them.

From October 13th Is the “October Surprise” the market or ACORN?

Started mineral supplements October 15th

Has anyone really read the “Card check” legislation being proposed?
There was a time when, if a union showed 20% of signed cards for representation they could demand an NLRB election for representation. Back in the “old days” when I was trying to Organize, that seemed to work well. My rule of thumb was to get at least 50% of representation cards signed, assuming that if I got 50% “signed” and those 50% + helped with the other employee’s, at election time I would be able to garner a majority. In the 60’s a new business was established. The “business” of protecting and expanding “Right to Work” state Legislation. Attorney’s throughout the country began to base their “Practices” on how to keep the Union out of an employers business. Some Unions had the gall to say to employers that collectively bargained into their Negotiated contracts, that anyone doing bargaining work had to become a member of that union. Between those “Attorneys” and the “National Right to Work Committee” the stage was set for the erosion of those “Rights”. They expanded their networks and reached an apex of over 20 states that had established “Right to Work” laws. One of the biggest obstacles in organizing was the length of time between notifying an employer of the desire of their employees to form a Union and the “independent” election put on by the NLRB. The employee’s were a captive audience for employer’s propaganda tactics and they took full advantage of that Option, if they were advised by their “employer representatives”. Dues, like Taxes” are the cost of living in a free society. As taxpayers or Union members we demand certain functions to be performed by our leaders, fixing potholes, negotiating contracts with raises to maintain our standard of living. Hence, the beginning of the Anti Tax movement, which culminated in the election of Ronald Regan, a former Democrat, Union President and an avowed McCarthy-era Anti-communist.

As a Politician, or Union leader, one of the easiest mistakes to make is, overreaching. Sometimes you can get away with it, “putting a man on the moon”, “electing Barack Obama.” Other times you can’t, Electing George the first” a second time, or living through being a “Prisoner of War and becoming President of the United States”, I hope so.

63 DAYS

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 6:45am to a 3. Took my am pills and after 1 session in my chair and my 1st check on the DOW I came in to post my blog and I’m at a 3+.

I’m wondering this morning? Is a Blog a place or a thing? I bet Alex Trebeck would know.

Well, I’m not sure? But! I think Judi got rid of my MS by proxy problem last night on my computer.

POLITICAL

I watched 60 minutes last night; they had the 1st interview with Michelle and Barack. I’m sooo glad he’s going to be the President. I’m sure all the Sarah Palin fans took it personal, because they didn’t have Katie Couric do it, that darn liberal media! He’s moving into the White House, on Lincoln’s 200th Birthday and he’s taking his mother-in-law with him. If you know anyone in Minnesota, Georgia, Alaska or Alabama, the Senate races there appear to still be up in the air.

SPORTS

I checked my FFB team this morning and we won! I’m still not back in 1st place but we did have the most points in the league. Thanks to our running back from the 49ers and Bens, the Steelers QB 300 plus yards.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

Well it’s that time for all those wonderful Community Organizations to make their Holiday pitches. I don’t want to be too exclusive, if you can do anything for Glenn Shuck’s wonderful Labors Community Service Agency, The BULL Session or my Locals Food Bank, we would all be very appreciative. The LCSA is a designated United Way agency.

I'M BACK !

PERSONAL

I awoke at 5:30am to a 3 after a good nights sleep. My apologies to everyone that missed my blog the last 4 days. I did do my road trip and surprised Mike in Las Vegas! My visit to my NCA obviously went well last week. Judi’s scooter rental while we were there really helped. After my pills this morning and 2 chair sessions, I am up to a 4.
The flight down on Southwest was great, the flight back, not so much. The look on Mike and Debbie’s faces, when we “stumbled” into Him and Debbie was Priceless. I’m sorry I missed my niece Erin’s surprise party last night, but the home flight just took too much out of me.
Vegas is still changing, I saw at least 6 tower cranes from the cab ride to downtown. Mike and I both tried a Texas hold-em Tournament at the Fitzgerald, at least I didn’t get knocked out first and Mike made it to within 1 of the money. The scooter was great, but they need to put rearview mirrors and a balloon or banner on them. I wore my 290 retiree hat everywhere and I think a lot of people thought I was retired military, apparently they didn’t pay that close of attention to the hat. I did not run into anyone while on the scooter, but at least 3 people ran into me.
If brother Marty could have made the trip his keno numbers kept coming up, but alas; he was busy playing in the dirt of his new home.

If you don’t hear from me for a few days don’t worry. I may try another road trip. When we got back home yesterday and turned on my computer the MS by proxy was still at it. We tried to fix that nasty MS by proxy problem, I think the computer is taking my MS by proxy comments personally. My MS by proxy statements do not refer to Microsoft, it’s Multiple Sclerosis, Judi did finally get me online this morning.

SUNDANCE NOT SHOWTIME

PERSONAL

I awoke at 5:30am to a 3 after a good nights sleep, no ill effects from the flu shot.
I’ll take this time to share the supplement I am taking, 2 Chelated, Calcium/Magnesium/Potassium and 6 Calcium. A total of 8 a day.

My apologies to everyone that missed the show last night because I directed them to the wrong channel, it was not Showtime, it was the Sundance channel, “Body of War”. I couldn’t watch it all but I’ve saved it on my TVO, good job Phil Donohue and Robert Redford.

My visit to my NCA went well, but I don’t think I’m up to go to Stephanies.

I went to my NCA yesterday and came home with a 3+.

Brother Marty’s back from his little excursion to Detroit Lake and all went well, it was cold but he wasn’t snowbound.

If you don’t hear from me for a few days don’t worry. I may try that road trip or shut down my computer and we will try to fix that nasty MS by proxy problem, it’s taken me 4 attempts to try to get online this morning.

POLITICAL

Be the deaf frog!

Watching the beginning of that show on the Sundance channel reminded me why I think Senator Byrd of West Virginia is still one of my favorites!

Thank You Tom !

PERSONAL

I awoke at 6:30am to a 3. After a session in my chair I checked the DOW and it was down 235+ points and OIL was down to $59+. I listened to some of the talking heads on Cspan and CNBC. Minorities and Unions were the culprits in the Housing and financial mess. Their solutions were, don’t allow those people (minorities – the Hope Program) to overextend themselves and take away the right to strike from the Auto unions, and don’t let them have ANY say in the Auto Industry Bailout. My comment is BU******. Barack, be the deaf Frog! To all my Servicemen & women readers, Happy Veterans Day ! Short blog this morning, I have to get ready for my NCA appointment. Mike goes on Vacation today and I hope he remembers to play a Keno Ticket for me.

Lincoln's Birthdayanniversary is ?

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at about 7am to a 3- with lots of stuff to do today so it will be a short report this morning. After my pills and 1 session in my chair I came back here to post and I think I’m at least at a 3. I also received a nice note from Dan Gardner, Welcome Dan, and forwarded to Judi, I’m sure she got a real kick out of it. At first glance the market was down, by the time I finished my chair session it was up. Well I’m off to get my flu shot, so the posting is short. O'bama's going to the White House today, if even just for a visit, thats cool. Did you know he will be installed as President on the 200th anniversary of Lincolns Birthday! I hope all my "Lincoln Republican" friends take note!

POLITICAL

I received a utube video from my friends at SEIU that I would encourage all to try to see. Barack’s statements on the employee free choice act. I would have tried to include it in this post, but my computer is still suffering from MS by proxy.

You would have thought that all the talking heads on TV yesterday, secretly, were very big O’Bama supporters. Although, the only place I saw Bartelomo was on a shopping channel. Watching 60 minutes last night I saw the piece on Ted Turner. I thought I recognized some of those places in Montana. Even though he is “retired” he is still beating Murdock. I think his book might be a good read.

SPORTS

My FFB team appears to have won, but after leading by 3+ touchdowns it appears I squeaked out a 2 point win, I do have a running back left to play tonight (Gore) so I’ll be watching just in case.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

Everyone needs to try to see that utube video. Be the deaf frog!

ROAD TRIP ?

PERSONAL

Well; I think I’m ready for a road trip and I think I’ll give it a shot after my NCA appointment Tuesday. Judi wants to go north to see Stephanie, we both have received discount tickets for Spirit Mountain and Chinook Winds and Judi got a discount flyer for her Casino near Stephanie’s house, As good as I feel I still think I shouldn’t travel more than an hour or so though.

Also this month; Happy Birthday to my Nephew, My Niece, My Brother and my cousin. I didn’t win Powerball last night so I guess this shout out will have to do.

POLITICAL

ROAD TRIP ?

PERSONAL

I awoke today at about 7am to a 3+ after a good 8+ hours of sleep. Judi got the name of a rental power-chair company to consider for “road trips”, where crowds may be a problem. I set my TVO to record a Movie next Tuesday at 7pm on Showtime I hope everyone gets to see. I watched Bill Moyers Journal last night and again this morning, on my TVO recording. I have always liked Bill Moyers Journal, but I think last night’s show was one of his top 3 or 4. If I was teaching a class on any kind of Organizing, it would be required viewing. For Dan H. and Kevin M. Professor Pat Williams deserves a read and my Union Organizers Professor Eric Foner deserves a read. I am going to do a test of a chair soon and maybe the BT Legislative Conference is a possibility?

POLITICAL

Democracy for America is reporting Al Franken still needs help, along with a number of others in various house races.

I also watched O’bamas first press conference yesterday and was very impressed. I just wish I saw a familiar face, besides Robert Riech, that was a known union person.

Be the deaf frog!

I am looking forward to a visit from Judy that does not require me to sign a check.

SPORTS

For my FFB report, my kicker got 4 more points than predicted so now I should win by almost 30 points. Come on Philip, go nuts!

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS REPORT

Everyone should checkout last nights Bill Moyers Journal. I don’t know how long it will be available, but you can probably find it on the PBS web site

OTHER STUFF & OBSERVATIONS

Was my post yesterday too wordy? I think it was the 1st time I went over 1,000 words, I try to keep them below 500.

PERSONAL

I awoke today at 7am to a 3+ after a good, solid 8 hours of sleep. Today I’m going to try to get my flu shot and may try a short road trip. The DOW was up first thing but still bouncing on the bottom. You will notice I have a new section in the blog today and I will also try to post those posts from “anonymous” I have received to date. Remember, “never say never!” I took Judi to a early dinner yesterday down to McCools in honor of Brent’s victory. The service is still bad, our server was good though, but the food was really good. My optimism, on the O’bama election was also rewarded at KENO, And the frogger machine. This is my 1st posting over 1,000 words, I hope I didn't babble too much?

POLITICAL

Congratulations Judy, now Bob can become a kept man. Congratulations Jeff also. The 2009 Legislative conference should be great, keep it up Doc, and maybe……..

From one of my favorite “Community Organizers”.
Derecka Bloch,
Yea Oregon for getting rid of Gordon Smith!!!
For all you other “Community Organizers” please do what you can to help her get a contracting out ordinance in San Jose.

From Jeff Merkley,

Dear William,

I am deeply humbled by the trust you have put in me. It is tremendous. Thank you.

Over the next six years, I will work with Ron Wyden to address the many challenges we face as Oregonians and Americans.

We will draw on the strengths of every citizen to fix our broken health care system; end the war in Iraq and bring our sons and daughters home; and strengthen America's middle class to put our nation back on track.

We will conquer these challenge if we come together, shed old rivalries that divide us, and put working families first. I pledge to fight every single day for working Americans, but I cannot do it without each and every one of you.

I look forward to working with you, Ron Wyden, and our new President-elect Barack Obama in the months and years ahead to bring Oregon the change it deserves.

Again, thank you for your support and for your vote. I am deeply humbled to be your next U.S. Senator.

From Hillary Clinton,

Dear William,

We did it! In this incredible year, we have changed our politics, our country and our nation! And I could not be more proud or more grateful to you for sharing this journey with me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for everything you have done, for me, for Barack Obama, and for all our Democratic candidates, to make these successes possible.

I know that President-Elect Barack Obama will lead our country in the new direction we need. And with the great success of our House and Senate candidates, we can make our agenda a reality.

But make no mistake -- our work is not done! I will be doing everything I can in the Senate, working closely with the White House on the goals you and I set out. With President Obama and our strengthened majorities in Congress, we can get our economy back on track. We're going to make sure every man, woman, and child in America has health care. With smart, effective new policies, we will move toward energy independence and create millions of new green jobs. And we're finally going to bring the war in Iraq to a responsible close and reestablish America's relations with our allies around the world.

We cannot do it without you. We're going to need your strong support on these issues. Those who oppose us may have lost yesterday, but they are not going to give up. We have to match their passion and their effort if we truly want to build the America we believe in, and the future our children deserve.

But today, let's celebrate the amazing things we have accomplished and the history we have made. Our journey has been marked with moments of elation and moments of sadness; but now we can take the time to appreciate the difference we have made.

I'm so proud to be on this journey with you. Thank you so much for everything you did -- for me, for our nation, and for our future.

Sincerely,

Hillary Onward for change,

From Christine Gregoire, Friends,

Thank you for your support.

Barack Obama was right when he said this election was a defining moment in our nation’s history. I also think it was a defining moment for our state.

Times are tough right now, and our top concern is the economy.

We made a choice between two very different economic plans. We stood by our values and chose to put working families first.

Special interests tried to divide our state and play upon our worst fears for political gain. They failed, and voters rejected their attacks.

We were involved in the political process like never before – many of us for the first time.

Millions of votes were cast. Thousands of volunteers participated in an unprecedented grassroots effort to reach out to voters, making two million phone calls and knocking on one million doors.

For these reasons, I think we saw our state at its best on Election Day.

We decided to put working families, our children and the most vulnerable people in our communities first. And we helped Barack Obama make history.

I want to thank all of you who gave your time and energy to this campaign. Your support made this possible.

Thank you,

Dean vs Palin ?

PERSONAL

I awoke today at about 7am to a 3.5+. I felt good enough yesterday to take Judi down to the local Chinese Restaurant for dinner. I was sure the election results were a sign; I generally play a keno four spot, and O’bama is the forty-fourth President and I received that “personal” email from Barack, which I will share with everyone under the Political section. I think I’m ready for a road trip!

Jimmy, please tell your Convention Center date, the name I couldn’t remember was Dick Harmon of the Metropolitan Alliance for Common Good, MACG, Another cabal of community organizers.

POLITICAL

My “personal” email from Barack:

William --

I'm about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first.

We just made history.

And I don't want you to forget how we did it.

You made history every single day during this campaign -- every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it's time for change.

I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.

We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next.

But I want to be very clear about one thing...

All of this happened because of you.

Thank you,

Barack

That you, is us!

And now the results of my predictions:

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA WIN
SENATOR JEFF MERKLEY WIN
GOVERNOR WA. CHRISTINE GREGOIRE WIN
CONGRESS EARL BLUMENHAUER, WIN
BRIAN BAIRD WIN
CURT SCHRADER WIN Darlene I’m still gonna miss you.
SECRETARY OF STATE KATE BROWN WIN
STATE TREASURER BEN WESTLUND WIN
MY STATE REP. BRENT BARTON WIN
MY STATE REP BUDDY MIKE SHAUFFLER WIN
BALLOTT MEASURES NO TO THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WIN
YES TO OUR TEACHERS AND FIREFIGHTERS ?
MULT. CO. COMMIS. JUDY SHIPRACK ?

Even with my unknowns I figure I should be getting a call from the Hall any day now.
I also got a great thank you email for us from Brent Barton, but my MS by proxy computer wouldn’t let me copy it.

The DOW was bouncing around 9,000 this morning and the CNBC talking heads were so sad looking because of the election results. Their banner headline read NO MORE BONUSES and Companies needed to cut people to be profitable and they all looked like they were in fear of their job’s, even Erin! Their spin, from the no spin zone, was that the Republicans did the right things and now those dam Democrats get to receive the benefits! And history is the proof, everytime WE (Republicans) get the market high for it’s big dive, the Democrats sweep in and get the benefits of the new policies.

It looks like the lineup for Party heads will be Howard Dean versus Sarah Palin. Come on Paul won’t you reconsider.

Keep being the deaf frog!

YES WE DID!

PERSONAL

I awoke today at about 9am to a 4. That’s pretty good considering I didn’t get to bed till almost Midnight; I actually went to bed after Judi did. I awoke to a four and even felt like I ran a Marathon yesterday. What does running a marathon feel like afterwards? The closest analogy for me last night, I guess would be, I felt like I was in a roller derby game last night.

I found out last night that my Blog was read by a United States Senator. I’m not sure how many people realize our Senior Senator started out as a “community organizer”. Based on the Electoral College count last night, there must be a lot of them. I can’t speak for the women yesterday but I can say there was at least 2 big O’s felt. O’bama and Optimism!

Mike and Danni, thanks for the call last, as soon as I post I’ll try to call Juanita.

And yes, Donna, Jusef and Michelle, I felt as proud as you guys.

Toto isn’t the only Toto to get over the rainbow! To all my gay friends, Judy Garland is singing again!

I was looking for an ireporter last night but didn’t find one. My ireport interview was going to be sort of like, I know plumbers and I know Union people, and first dude your no union man and Joe your no plumber!

Hey Tim; Welcome to da blog!

POLITICAL

OK, now lets all be that deaf frog!

Thank you, to all those people that pretended to be Mailmen yesterday and get O’BAMA over the top.

And yes, Paul, I still think you should not turn over the Republican Party to Sarah and run it yourself. At least you know the value of Community Organizers!

I haven’t seen the final tallies but I think I made all-star numbers on my predictions and I am anticipating making the Hall.

I am not sure but I think Brent beat Laura!

I can’t be sure, but the last time I saw celebrations like I saw last night after we left the convention center, I believe was when the Blazers won the NBA title.

Hours to go before I sleep, comfortably!

PERSONAL

Awoke at 6:15am to a 3+. Took my morning pills, had 1 session on my chair and turned on the TV.
On CNBC the market was bouncing between -10 and 30+. They also had a talking head, Peter Schiff, warning everyone of the impending disaster "after" Obama takes office. Oh, by the way, did I mention he was a Ron Paul supporter? My paranoid buddy Alex should get him on his Thursday night show.

The heads were also talking about the Boeing settlement this weekend and gave the settlement credit for Boeing stock being up this morning. They apparently got a multiyear settlement over 14% with a bonus check. For all my negotiators, that should be the LOW BAR!

Then they turned their attention to Walmart. Concerned that when, “not if” Obama became President that Walmart would be Unionized, and was that good or bad for the stockholders?

I watched 60 minutes last night and I was informed of the way employers are breaking the law on not rehiring their National Guard and Reservists after being called up for tours in Iraq & Afganistan. One focus of the show was a Veterans Administration Nurse whose “position” was eliminated, because she was gone too much. They also had a piece on an experimental program to tie in the brain with computers, it was very uplifting and hopeful, I hope you all watched.

I also watched my buddy Bruce last night, and he said he was voting for Obama. He basically said that there are no Lincoln Republicans left.
Congratulations Machinists on Boeing, and now lets get Walmart!

Eric, I hope you and your buddies at Horizon are watching.

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 6:15am to a 3+. I didn’t post yesterday, but nobody seemed to notice. I checked my email this morning and I had 39 to review. Most were Political requests for dollars. I’ve used up most of my change for change. I did get an email from my friend Patricia who sent me a youtube video I would encourage all to watch. It was probably more appropriate for Halloween. I am continuing to update emails and invite more people to my blog.

I also received an email from Al Shropshire that showed an interesting development in his race for Business Manager of my local. It’s dejavu all over again. This will be a short post today, so I can get to the Sunday Morning talking heads and finish my email updates. And follow my FFB team.

I’ve changed the date of my November card party, I don’t want to conflict with my sisters Thanksgiving Day celebration, or Billy’s Birthday. It’s the 1st Friday in December. 12/05/08

Keep those prayers and good thoughts flowing!

Well, I’ll see you next time on my blog…………..
