PERSONAL:
I awoke this morning at 7am to a 3+ after 9 hours of good sleep after sleeping in my lazyboy. I checked the south deck and it was right at freezing, dry and cloudy. I took my am pills, including my stop smoking one and put out my flag, and refilled my weekly pill box. I will try to get back to back to my bird table today, it is just hard to do with basically just one hand. I did get a text from Marty an he asked if we wanted to join him for the Super Bowl. I told him certainly and asked him when and what we could bring? He said he would call back to let me know, I'm thinking Judi's hot wings would be gooood. I did get hold of Kate at BOLI and told her of my concerns with the IECO association representative being named co-chair of the PWR committee because they were on record of suing BOLI and I think his organization is on record for the elimination of Prevailing wage. I guess we will have to put our faith in Norman, and I am sure he can hold his own. I did get Kate's phone number and told her I did intend to spend some time in Salem this session, first day tomorrow I think? I will now make my pitch for support for election to our International's National Convention. I do want to keep my record intact of making every National Convention I have been eligible for since I joined the United Association. I still need to email all the City Council on the AOH resolution, but being the arrival of Rita O'Hare is delayed until March, I definitely have time. I still didn't get my Kaiser leaflet made, as I have decided to leaflet Kaiser instead of picket, and I did hear from the trust attorney and he is checking to see if it will be needed. I will post my thoughts again on negotiations in the “OTHER STUFF” section. Don't forget to register at the M.S. Walk Oregon for “WALLY'S WALKERS”.
Good friend Bob Shiprack is up for an appointment to Metro and he would make a GREAT counselor. (JOBS, JOBS, JOBS) The Labor Press had a very good article in their last edition. It appears the Trimet drivers are going to do another informational picket at the next Trimet board meeting and it sounds like the Trimet office is not too far from Kaisers main office, so maybe I can help them and if needed my leaflets would be ready by then and they may help me. I want to remind everyone about the (I.L.W.U.) Longshore Workers and every worker in Oregon and Washington that the Workers Compensation system NEEDS a little revamping.
Don't forget to say THANK YOU, to all those servicemen and women who have served or are serving. Christopher is back in Afghanistan and I understand nephew Rhyon is heading back there in May, but we did see him, and hope to again before he leaves. So a prayer a day for them from all my readers would sure make me feel better.
I will put the prayer to St. Jude in here again for Andrew McVey's Mother, Bill Gallagher's Father, 290 brothers Dick Coyle, C.W. Misenheimer, Gary Niebert, and the families of the Tucson shootings so please add them to your prayers also.

KAISER AND M.S. REPORT:
The M.S. Walk is scheduled for Saturday April 9th here in Portland and I hope everyone can participate($) in some form or another.
Thank you for your participation in Walk MS. Last year, we raised $588,000 and had more than 5,000 walkers across 10 sites in Oregon and SW Washington. Those funds were crucial to expanding many of the programs and services that the Oregon Chapter aims to provide for its clients each year.
To build on this positive momentum, we invite you to participate in Walk MS 2011. This is also my attempt to keep track of my experiences with Kaiser Permanente and my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the Ampyra and the 4.5mg LDN, I think I'm noticeably better. My BP is 126/86/64, at 8:55am. After I got an “explanation of benefits” this is not a bill but in the billed amount was $84.10 ( exactly the LDN amount) in the next column was allowed amount was $84.10, the member responsibility was 0.00, Kaiser paid 0.00; if the member responsibility was 0.00 WHY DID IT COST ME $84.10?? It sounds like the trust attorney is trying to get to the bottom of it. I did clean a little off of my “nest” here on my Lazyboy and I have a full briefcase just of my Kaiser stuff. I will remind everyone that I WILL be taking action with Kaiser Member services, if and when I need to.

www.credo.com has a petition to tell the republicans in congress, who HAVE government health care to give it up if they are so bent on taking it away from the 30+ million AMERICANS now covered under the new Health Care Law.
I did post the accomplishments for the Presidents 1st 2 years and I did try to list them all; I just wish that E.F.C.A. was one. I know it is a long time still until the 2012 elections, and I'm probably not the first, but I will say right here that; President Obama deserves and has earned his second term, especially after that healing speech in Tuscon, I did think HIS State of the Union address was good for the things he included but as I said before I was hoping for much more. It seemed to me the MOST IMPORTANT NEWS question about his State of the Union speech was, who is sitting next to whom. One issue that concerns me is “SPENDING CUTS”, and it seems at the TOP of the list is “entitlement” spending. One of the shows said entitlement spending (social security, medicare?) makes up for 84% of federal spending, does that mean that the D.O.D. Budget with 2+ wars, and interest on the current National Debt only accounts for 16%. I have a question for my republican friends; When I put money in the bank and then draw it out, do YOU consider that an entitlement? HMMMN

I did talk to Jim Moss and he will try to get their website to accept partial payments;I haven't checked yet but I did get a face book notice that Ed Ellis is now my face book friend. Jim did say that the individual entry would be the same rate as last year for the Union members. THANK YOU JIM ! AND THANK YOU ALSO TO THE MEMBERS OF LOCAL 290 FOR YOUR VERY GENEROUS DONATION.

The planning for the 2011 Hood to Coast in August has started already and Judi has signed up for the walk part, and we are recruiting for the 2011 M.S. Walk which is April 9th. ALL HELP APPRECIATED.

The American Rights at Work still needs help. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. It is very disappointing that it was not lame duck accomplishment, especially in light of that mine disaster in West Virginia and those Rig explosions in the Gulf. I watched the commission on the B.P. Disaster and, from here, it looks like the beginning of a cover up, and based on what I have been hearing the Republican's have Organized Labor directly in their cross hairs for the next 2 years.

OK, here are my thoughts and suggestions for the up-comming Contract negotiations. It is apparent to me that the contractors really want a new Drug testing program and the “excellence” program. And I think I agree with Buddy that a one year contract would be the most beneficial. 2011 looks like it will be a very good year work wise. If the contractors REALLY want a new “Drug Testing” program and the “excellence” program. If the Negotiating committee wants to get off the cycle of contract negotiations coinciding with the Local Union Elections, it seems to me a 1 year agreement could give both parties what they wanted and a year to shake out the bugs of those 2 “NEW” programs and see if they are really effective and a new contract may be easier to negotiate when both Republicans and Democrats are jockeying for the 2012 elections and we are strongly into the Intel expansion, hopefully the PCC and Portland Public Schools Project Labor Agreements.

MEET THE FUTURE; YUSUF WORD
PERSONAL:

I did miss grand niece Samantha's Birthday party because of the sniffles but I did get to talk to her on the phone and it sounded like she was having a really good time. If the Negotiating committee wants to get off the cycle of contract negotiations coinciding with the Local Union Elections, it seems to me a 1 year agreement could give both parties what they wanted and a year to shake out the bugs of those 2 “NEW” programs and see if they are really effective and a new contract may be easier to negotiate when both Republicans and Democrats are jockeying for the 2012 elections and we are strongly into the Intel expansion, hopefully the PCC and Portland Public Schools Project Labor Agreements.

I awoke this morning at 8am to a 3- after 10 hours of sleep, but with some sniffles. I checked the south deck and it was above freezing, dry and cloudy. I took my am pills, including my stop smoking one and put out my flag. I will try to get back to regular daily posts and try to get back to my bird table today, it is just hard to do with basically just one hand. I did miss grand niece Samantha's Birthday party because of the sniffles but I did get to talk to her on the phone and it sounded like she was having a really good time. I did get hold of Kate at BOLI and told her of my concerns with the IECO association representative being named co-chair of the PWR committee because they were on record of suing BOLI and I think his organization is on record for the elimination of Prevailing wage. I guess we will have to put our faith in Norman, and I am sure he can hold his own. I did get Kate's phone number and told her I did intend to spend some time in Salem this session. I did miss Norm's Labor Law conference Friday, and I hope the turnout was good, because he always has great presenters and many in Labor could benefit from his program. I will now make my pitch for support for election to our International National Convention. I do want to keep my record intact of making every National Convention I have been eligible for since I joined the United Association. I still need to email all the City Council on the AOH resolution, but being the arrival of Rita O'Hare is delayed until March, I definitely have time. I still didn't get my Kaiser leaflet made, as I have decided to leaflet Kaiser instead of picket, and I did hear from the trust attorney and he is checking to see if it is needed. I will post my thoughts again on negotiations in the “OTHER STUFF” section. Don't forget to register at the M.S. Walk Oregon for “WALLY'S WALKERS”.
Good friend Bob Shiprack is up for an appointment to Metro and he would make a GREAT counselor. (JOBS, JOBS, JOBS) The Labor Press had a very good article in their last edition. It appears the Trimet drivers are going to do another informational picket at the next Trimet board meeting and it sounds like the Trimet office is not too far from Kaisers main office, so maybe I can help them and if needed my leaflets would be ready by then and they may help me. I want to remind everyone about the (I.L.W.U.) Longshore Workers and every worker in Oregon and Washington that the Workers Compensation system NEEDS a little revamping.
Don't forget to say THANK YOU, to all those servicemen and women who have served or are serving. Christopher is back in Afghanistan and I understand nephew Rhyon is heading back there in May, but we did see him, and hope to again before he leaves. So a prayer a day for them from all my readers would sure make me feel better.

The M.S. Walk is scheduled for Saturday April 9th here in Portland and I hope everyone can participate($) in some form or another.
Thank you for your participation in Walk MS. Last year, we raised $588,000 and had more than 5,000 walkers across 10 sites in Oregon and SW Washington. Those funds were crucial to expanding many of the programs and services that the Oregon Chapter aims to provide for its clients each year.
To build on this positive momentum, we invite you to participate in Walk MS 2011. This is also my attempt to keep track of my experiences with Kaiser Permanente and my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the Ampyra and the 4.5mg LDN, I think I'm noticeably better. My BP is 130/73/62, at 10:45am. After I got an “explanation of benefits” this is not a bill but in the billed amount was $84.10 ( exactly the LDN amount) in the next column was allowed amount was $84.10, the member responsibility was 0.00, Kaiser paid 0.00; if the member responsibility was 0.00 WHY DID IT COST ME $84.10?? It sounds like the trust attorney is trying to get to the bottom of it. I did clean a little off of my “nest” here on my Lazyboy and I have a full briefcase just of my Kaiser stuff. I will remind everyone that I WILL be taking action with Kaiser Member services, if and when I need to.

I did post the accomplishments for the Presidents 1st 2 years and I did try to list them all; I just wish that E.F.C.A. was one. I know it is a long time still until the 2012 elections, and I'm probably not the first, but I will say right here that; President Obama deserves and has earned his second term, especially after that healing speech in Tuscon, I did think HIS State of the Union address was good for the things he included but as I said before I was hoping for much more. It seemed to me the MOST IMPORTANT NEWS question about the State of the Union speech was, who is sitting next to who. One issue that concerns me is “SPENDING CUTS”, and it seems at the TOP of the list is “entitlement” spending. One of the shows said entitlement spending (social security, medicare?) makes up for 84% of federal spending, does that mean that the D.O.D. Budget with 2+ wars, and interest on the current National Debt only accounts for 16%. I have a question for my republican friends; When I put money in the bank and then draw it out, do YOU consider that an entitlement? HMMMN

The American Rights at Work still needs help. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. It is very disappointing that it was not lame duck accomplishment, especially in light of that mine disaster in West Virginia and those Rig explosions in the Gulf. I watched the commission on the B.P. Disaster and, from here, it looks like the beginning of a cover up, and based on what I have been hearing the Republican's have Organized Labor directly in their cross hairs for the next 2 years.

HELP YUSUF SPREAD THE WORD; AND THANK YOU ED, LYNN AND LORI
PERSONAL:

The American Rights at Work still needs help. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. It is very disappointing that it was not lame duck accomplishment, especially in light of that mine disaster in West Virginia and those Rig explosions in the Gulf. I watched the commission on the B.P. Disaster and, from here, it looks like the beginning of a cover up, and based on what I have been hearing the Republican's have Organized Labor directly in their cross hairs for the next 2 years.

OK, here are my thoughts and suggestions for the upcomming Contract negotiations. It is apparent to me that the contractors really want a new Drug testing program and the “excellence” program. And I think I agree with Buddy that a one year contract would be the most beneficial. 2011 looks like it will be a very good year work wise. If the contractors REALLY want a new “Drug Testing” program and the “excellence” program. If the Negotiating committee wants to get off the cycle of contract negotiations coinciding with the Local Union Elections, it seems to me a 1 year agreement could give both parties what they wanted and a year to shake out the bugs of those 2 “NEW” programs and see if they are really effective and a new contract may be easier to negotiate when both Republicans and Democrats are jockeying for the 2012 elections and we are strongly into the Intel expansion, hopefully the PCC and Portland Public Schools Project Labor Agreements.
MICK, BOB , RON and CHRISTOPHER, stay positive and we will meet on the golf course (but I'm not sure if Ron even Plays) but I will take it easy on all of you. I also talked to good friend Scott Gardner and he wants to get together for some golf. I also heard from good friend and brother Joe McCarthy and he is going in for surgery on his rotator cuff, but as soon as he is well we will get out also.

I awoke this morning at 7am to a 3 after a good 10 hours of sleep, but with some sniffles. I checked the south deck and it was above freezing, dry and cloudy. I took my am pills, including my stop smoking one and put out my flag. I will try to get back to regular daily posts and try to get back to mu bird table today, it is just hard to do with basically just one hand. I am going to miss grand niece Samantha's Birthday party today because of the sniffles and if it is the beginning of a cold and I don't want to spread it to the kids. I did get a phone call from Kate at BOLI' s office, thank you Mary; and she told me that the I.E.C.A. representative being proposed for the co-chair of the PWR committee has been there for a long time. When I told her one of my concerns was the fact that, I believe that his association was on record of suing BOLI and I think his organization is on record for the elimination of Prevailing wage. I guess we will have to put our faith in Norman, and I am sure he can hold his own. I did miss his Labor Law conference yesterday, and I hope the turnout was good, because he always has great presenters and many in Labor could benefit from his program. I will now make my pitch for support for election to our International National Convention. I do want to keep my record intact of making every National Convention I have been eligible for since I joined the United Association. I still need to email all the City Council on the AOH resolution, but being the arrival of Rita O'Hare is delayed until March, I definitely have time. I still didn't get my Kaiser leaflet made, as I have decided to leaflet Kaiser instead of picket, and I did hear from the trust attorney and he is checking to see if it is needed. I will post my thoughts again on negotiations in the “OTHER STUFF” section. Don't forget to register at the M.S. Walk Oregon for “WALLY'S WALKERS”.
Good friend Bob Shiprack is up for an appointment to Metro and he would make a GREAT counselor. (JOBS, JOBS, JOBS) The Labor Press had a very good article in their last edition. It appears the Trimet drivers are going to do another informational picket at the next Trimet board meeting and it sounds like the Trimet office is not too far from Kaisers main office, so maybe I can help them and if needed my leaflets would be ready by then and they may help me. I want to remind everyone about the (I.L.W.U.)Longshore Workers and every worker in Oregon and Washington that the Workers Compensation system NEEDS a little revamping.
Don't forget to say THANK YOU, to all those servicemen and women who have served or are serving. Christopher is back in Afghanistan and I understand nephew Rhyon is heading back there in May, but we did see him, and hope to again before he leaves. So a prayer a day for them from all my readers would sure make me feel better.

The M.S. Walk is scheduled for Saturday April 9th (70 days) here in Portland and I hope everyone can participate($) in some form or another.
Thank you for your participation in Walk MS. Last year, we raised $588,000 and had more than 5,000 walkers across 10 sites in Oregon and SW Washington. Those funds were crucial to expanding many of the programs and services that the Oregon Chapter aims to provide for its clients each year.
To build on this positive momentum, we invite you to participate in Walk MS 2011. This is also my attempt to keep track of my experiences with Kaiser Permanente and my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the Ampyra and the 4.5mg LDN, I think I'm noticeably better. My BP is 118/74/59, at 9am. After I got an “explanation of benefits” this is not a bill but in the billed amount was $84.10 ( exactly the LDN amount) in the next column was allowed amount was $84.10, the member responsibility was 0.00, Kaiser paid 0.00; if the member responsibility was 0.00 WHY DID IT COST ME $84.10?? It sounds like the trust attorney is trying to get to the bottom of it. I did clean a little off of my “nest” here on my Lazyboy and I have a full briefcase just of my Kaiser stuff. I will remind everyone that I WILL be taking action with Kaiser Member services, if and when I need to.

I did post the accomplishments for the Presidents 1st 2 years and I did try to list them all; I just wish that E.F.C.A. was one. I know it is a long time still until the 2012 elections, and I'm probably not the first, but I will say right here that; President Obama deserves and has earned his second term, especially after that healing speech in Tuscon, I did think HIS State of the Union address was good for the things he included but as I said before I was hoping for much more. It seemed to me the MOST IMPORTANT NEWS question about the State of the Union speech was, who is sitting next to who. One issue that concerns me is “SPENDING CUTS”, and it seems at the TOP of the list is “entitlement” spending. One of the shows said entitlement spending (social security, medicare?) makes up for 84% of federal spending, does that mean that the D.O.D. Budget with 2+ wars, and interest on the current National Debt only accounts for 16%. I have a question for my republican friends; When I put money in the bank and then draw it out, do YOU consider that an entitlement? HMMMN

The American Rights at Work still needs help. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. It is very disappointing that it was not lame duck accomplishment, especially in light of that mine disaster in West Virginia and those Rig explosions in the Gulf. I watched the commission on the B.P. Disaster and, from here, it looks like the beginning of a cover up, and based on what I have been hearing the Republican's have Organized Labor directly in their cross hairs for the next 2 years.

OK, here are my thoughts and suggestions for the upcomming Contract negotiations. It is apparent to me that the contractors really want a new Drug testing program and the “excellence” program. And I think I agree with Buddy that a one year contract would be the most beneficial. 2011 looks like it will be a very good year work wise. If the contractors REALLY want a new “Drug Testing” program and the “excellence” program. If the Negotiating committee wants to get off the cycle of contract negotiations coinciding with the Local Union Elections, it seems to me a 1 year agreement could give both parties what they wanted and a year to shake out the bugs of those 2 “NEW” programs and see if they are really effective and a new contract may be easier to negotiate when both Republicans and Democrats are jockeying for the 2012 elections and we are strongly into the Intel expansion, hopefully the PCC and Portland Public Schools Project Labor Agreements.
MICK, BOB , RON and CHRISTOPHER, stay positive and we will meet on the golf course (but I'm not sure if Ron even Plays) but I will take it easy on all of you. I also talked to good friend Scott Gardner and he wants to get together for some golf. I also heard from good friend and brother Joe McCarthy and he is going in for surgery on his rotator cuff, but as soon as he is well we will get out also.

I awoke this morning at 7am to a 3 after a good 10 hours of sleep, but with some sniffles. I checked the south deck and it was above freezing, dry and cloudy. I took my am pills, including my stop smoking one and put out my flag. I will try to get back to regular daily posts and try to get back to mu bird table today, it is just hard to do with basically just one hand. I am going to miss grand niece Samantha's Birthday party today because of the sniffles and if it is the beginning of a cold and I don't want to spread it to the kids. I did get a phone call from Kate at BOLI' s office, thank you Mary; and she told me that the I.E.C.A. representative being proposed for the co-chair of the PWR committee has been there for a long time. When I told her one of my concerns was the fact that, I believe that his association was on record of suing BOLI and I think his organization is on record for the elimination of Prevailing wage. I guess we will have to put our faith in Norman, and I am sure he can hold his own. I did miss his Labor Law conference yesterday, and I hope the turnout was good, because he always has great presenters and many in Labor could benefit from his program. I will now make my pitch for support for election to our International National Convention. I do want to keep my record intact of making every National Convention I have been eligible for since I joined the United Association. I still need to email all the City Council on the AOH resolution, but being the arrival of Rita O'Hare is delayed until March, I definitely have time. I still didn't get my Kaiser leaflet made, as I have decided to leaflet Kaiser instead of picket, and I did hear from the trust attorney and he is checking to see if it is needed. I will post my thoughts again on negotiations in the “OTHER STUFF” section. Don't forget to register at the M.S. Walk Oregon for “WALLY'S WALKERS”.
Good friend Bob Shiprack is up for an appointment to Metro and he would make a GREAT counselor. (JOBS, JOBS, JOBS) The Labor Press had a very good article in their last edition. It appears the Trimet drivers are going to do another informational picket at the next Trimet board meeting and it sounds like the Trimet office is not too far from Kaisers main office, so maybe I can help them and if needed my leaflets would be ready by then and they may help me. I want to remind everyone about the Longshore Workers and every worker in Oregon and Washington that the Workers Compensation system NEEDS a little revamping.
Don't forget to say THANK YOU, to all those servicemen and women who have served or are serving. Christopher is back in Afghanistan and I understand nephew Rhyon is heading back there in May, but we did see him, and hope to again before he leaves. So a prayer a day for them from all my readers would sure make me feel better.

The M.S. Walk is scheduled for Saturday April 9th (70 days) here in Portland and I hope everyone can participate($) in some form or another.
Thank you for your participation in Walk MS. Last year, we raised $588,000 and had more than 5,000 walkers across 10 sites in Oregon and SW Washington. Those funds were crucial to expanding many of the programs and services that the Oregon Chapter aims to provide for its clients each year.
To build on this positive momentum, we invite you to participate in Walk MS 2011. This is also my attempt to keep track of my experiences with Kaiser Permanente and my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the Ampyra and the 4.5mg LDN, I think I'm noticeably better. My BP is 118/74/59, at 9am. After I got an “explanation of benefits” this is not a bill but in the billed amount was $84.10 ( exactly the LDN amount) in the next column was allowed amount was $84.10, the member responsibility was 0.00, Kaiser paid 0.00; if the member responsibility was 0.00 WHY DID IT COST ME $84.10?? It sounds like the trust attorney is trying to get to the bottom of it. I did clean a little off of my “nest” here on my Lazyboy and I have a full briefcase just of my Kaiser stuff. I will remind everyone that I WILL be taking action with Kaiser Member services, if and when I need to.

I did post the accomplishments for the Presidents 1st 2 years and I did try to list them all; I just wish that E.F.C.A. was one. I know it is a long time still until the 2012 elections, and I'm probably not the first, but I will say right here that; President Obama deserves and has earned his second term, especially after that healing speech in Tuscon, I did think HIS State of the Union address was good for the things he included but as I said before I was hoping for much more. It seemed to me the MOST IMPORTANT NEWS question about the State of the Union speech was, who is sitting next to who. One issue that concerns me is “SPENDING CUTS”, and it seems at the TOP of the list is “entitlement” spending. One of the shows said entitlement spending (social security, medicare?) makes up for 84% of federal spending, does that mean that the D.O.D. Budget with 2+ wars, and interest on the current National Debt only accounts for 16%. I have a question for my republican friends; When I put money in the bank and then draw it out, do YOU consider that an entitlement? HMMMN

LEAVE MY SOCIAL SECURITY ALONE !!
PERSONAL:

I have not posted for a couple of days because I've been busy, busy busy, I took Judi to Spirit Mountain to have lunch with sister Danni, but we did come home early as my Karma wasn't working so well. So while it may be a little late, I want to wish my grand nephew Austin a belated Happy Birthday again, as I did forget to take his B.D. present with me that I was going to leave with Danni. I will now make my pitch for support for election to our International National Convention. The American Rights at Work still needs help. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. It is very disappointing that it was not lame duck accomplishment, especially in light of that mine disaster in West Virginia and those Rig explosions in the Gulf. I watched the commission on the B.P. Disaster and, from here, it looks like the beginning of a cover up, and based on what I have been hearing the Republican's have Organized Labor directly in their cross hairs for the next 2 years.

OK, here are my thoughts and suggestions for the upcomming Contract negotiations. It is apparent to me that the contractors really want a new Drug testing program and the “excellence” program. And I think I agree with Buddy that a one year contract would be the most beneficial. 2011 looks like it will be a very good year work wise. If the contractors REALLY want a new “Drug Testing” program and the “excellence” program. If the Negotiating committee wants to get off the cycle of contract negotiations coinciding with the Local Union Elections, it seems to me a 1 year agreement could give both parties what they wanted and a year to shake out the bugs of those 2 “NEW” programs and see if they are really effective and a new contract may be easier to negotiate when both Republicans and Democrats are jockeying for the 2012 elections and we are strongly into the Intel expansion, hopefully the PCC and Portland Public Schools Project Labor Agreements.
MICK, BOB , RON and CHRISTOPHER, stay positive and we will meet on the golf course (but I'm not sure if Ron even Plays) but I will take it easy on all of you. I also talked to good friend Scott Gardner and he wants to get together for some golf. I also heard from good friend and brother Joe McCarthy and he is going in for surgery on his rotator cuff, but as soon as he is well we will get out also.

I awoke this morning at 7:45am to a 3 after a good 10 hours of sleep. I checked the south deck and it was above freezing but clear. I took my am pills, including my stop smoking one and put out my flag. I have not posted for a couple of days because I've been busy, busy busy, I took Judi to Spirit Mountain to have lunch with sister Danni, but we did come home early as my Karma wasn't working so well. So while it may be a little late, I want to wish my grand nephew Austin a belated Happy Birthday again, as I did forget to take his B.D. present with me that I was going to leave with Danni. I will now make my pitch for support for election to our International National Convention. I do want to keep my record intact of making every National Convention I have been eligible for since I joined the United Association. I still have work to do on my bird table. I still need to email all the City Council on the AOH resolution, but being the arrival of Rita O'Hare is delayed until March, I definitely have time. I still didn't get my Kaiser leaflet made, as I have decided to leaflet Kaiser instead of picket, and I did hear from the trust attorney to see if it is needed. I will post my thoughts again on negotiations in the “OTHER STUFF” section. Don't forget to register at the M.S. Walk Oregon for “WALLY'S WALKERS”.
I also understand that good friend Bob Shiprack is looking for an appointment for Metro and the other one (so far) is definitely the wrong choice, (JOBS, JOBS, JOBS) and the Labor Press had a very good article in their paper last Friday. It appears the Trimet drivers are going to do another informational picket at the next Trimet board meeting and it sounds like the Trimet office is not too far from Kaisers main office, so maybe I can help them and if needed my leaflets would be ready by then and they may help me. I want to remind everyone about the (I.L.W.U.)Longshore Workers and every worker in Oregon and Washington that the Workers Compensation system NEEDS a little revamping.
Don't forget to say THANK YOU, to all those servicemen and women who have served or are serving. Christopher is back in Afghanistan and I understand nephew Rhyon is heading back there in May, but we did see him, and hope to again before he leaves. So a prayer a day for them from all my readers would sure make me feel better.

The M.S. Walk is scheduled for Saturday April 9th here in Portland and I hope everyone can participate($) in some form or another.
Thank you for your participation in Walk MS. Last year, we raised $588,000 and had more than 5,000 walkers across 10 sites in Oregon and SW Washington. Those funds were crucial to expanding many of the programs and services that the Oregon Chapter aims to provide for its clients each year.
To build on this positive momentum, we invite you to participate in Walk MS 2011. This is also my attempt to keep track of my experiences with Kaiser Permanente and my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the Ampyra and the 4.5mg LDN, I think I'm noticeably better. My BP is 114/69/59, at 12:20pm. After I got an “explanation of benefits” this is not a bill but in the billed amount was $84.10 ( exactly the LDN amount) in the next column was allowed amount was $84.10, the member responsibility was 0.00, Kaiser paid 0.00; if the member responsibility was 0.00 WHY DID IT COST ME $84.10?? It sounds like the trust attorney is trying to get to the bottom of it. I did clean a little off of my “nest” here on my Lazyboy and I have a full briefcase just of my Kaiser stuff. I will remind everyone that I WILL be taking action with Kaiser Member services, if and when I need to.

I did post the accomplishments for the Presidents 1st 2 years and I did try to list them all; I just wish that E.F.C.A. was one. I know it is a long time still until the 2012 elections, and I'm probably not the first, but I will say right here that; President Obama deserves and has earned his second term, especially after that healing speech in Tuscon, I did think HIS State of the Union address was good for the things he included but as I said before I was hoping for much more. It seemed to me the MOST IMPORTANT NEWS question about the State of the Union speech was, who is sitting next to who. One issue that concerns me is “SPENDING CUTS”, and it seems at the TOP of the list is “entitlement” spending. One of the shows said entitlement spending (social security, medicare?) makes up for 84% of federal spending, does that mean that the D.O.D. Budget with 2+ wars, and interest on the current National Debt only accounts for 16%. HMMMN
CHECK OUT PAST BLOGS FOR THE Top 5 Social Security Myths. I am only going to list the first one, as it is the biggest, as far as I'm concerned and I will save the space.
Myth #1: Social Security is going broke.
Reality: There is no Social Security crisis. By 2023, Social Security will have a $4.6 trillion surplus (yes, trillion with a 'T'). It can pay out all scheduled benefits for the next quarter-century with no changes whatsoever. After 2037, it'll still be able to pay out 75% of scheduled benefits—and again, that's without any changes. The program started preparing for the Baby Boomers' retirement decades ago. Anyone who insists Social Security is broke probably wants to break it themselves.

Jim did say that the individual entry would be the same rate as last year for the Union members. THANK YOU JIM ! AND THANK YOU ALSO TO THE MEMBERS OF LOCAL 290 FOR YOUR VERY GENEROUS DONATION.
I did get another update from Molly Smithson on her “playing for others” program and it is still ongoing also.
The planning for the 2011 Hood to Coast in August has started already and Judi has signed up for the walk part, and we are recruiting for the 2011 M.S. Walk which is April 9th. ALL HELP APPRECIATED.

WOULD ANY REPUBLICAN OUT THERE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU CONSIDER TRUST ? IF NOT THE SOCIAL SECURITY TRUST FUND ?
PERSONAL:
I awoke this morning at 7:15am to a 3 after a good 10 hours of sleep. I checked the south deck and it was just above freezing and a foggy morning. I took my am pills, including my stop smoking one and put out my flag. A lot of the bird seed I did get and put out on the west deck was still there. I did post late today because I DID GET a call from the trust attorney today. I did send him a copy of the summary I got from Lloyd Center Pharmacy, and I had a copy made at the Hall yesterday and left a copy for Lou. I missed posting yesterday because I was busy, busy, busy. So while it is a little late, I want to wish my grand nephew Austin a belated Happy Birthday again. I also made the O.M.S.N. meeting yesterday morning and was a little surprised that, apparently I was the only one to see the press conference with First Lady, Michelle Obama, Jill Biden and the President announcing their program that is strikingly similar to what the mission is of O.M.S.N. and the fact that the President has directed 16 or 19 members of his cabinet to put together individual and collectively programs to assist Veterans with the myriad of issues they and their families face, both active and retired. I did watch “The State of The Union” last night and I wish he would have spoke more to that issue. I will now make my pitch for support for election to our International National Convention. They did have my acceptance letter and brother Mike nominated me and I sure hope I get elected. I do want to keep my record intact of making every National Convention I have been eligible for since I joined the United Association. I still have work to do on my bird table. OK, here are my thoughts and suggestions for the upcomming Contract negotiations. It is apparent to me that the contractors really want a new Drug testing program and the “excellence” program. And I think I agree with Buddy that a one year contract would be the most beneficial. 2011 looks like it will be a very good year work wise. If the contractors REALLY want a new “Drug Testing” program and the “excellence” program. If the Negotiating committee wants to get off the cycle of contract negotiations coinciding with the Local Union Elections, it seems to me a 1 year agreement could give both parties what they wanted and a year to shake out the bugs of those 2 “NEW” programs and see if they are really effective and a new contract may be easier to negotiate when both Republicans and Democrats are jockeying for the 2012 elections and we are strongly into the Intel expansion, hopefully the PCC and Portland Public Schools Project Labor Agreements.
Now I know I missed announcing grand nephew Austin's B.D. Monday, so I better say again; HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUSTIN!!
MICK, BOB , RON and CHRISTOPHER, stay positive and we will meet on the golf course (but I'm not sure if Ron even Plays) but I will take it easy on all of you. I also talked to good friend Scott Gardner and he wants to get together for some golf. I also heard from good friend and brother Joe McCarthy and he is going in for surgery on his rotator cuff, but as soon as he is well we will get out also.

I awoke this morning at 7:15am to a 3 after a good 10 hours of sleep. I checked the south deck and it was just above freezing and a foggy morning. I took my am pills, including my stop smoking one and put out my flag. A lot of the bird seed I did get and put out on the west deck was still there. I did post late today because I DID GET a call from the trust attorney today. I did send him a copy of the summary I got from Lloyd Center Pharmacy, and I had a copy made at the Hall yesterday and left a copy for Lou. I missed posting yesterday because I was busy, busy, busy. So while it is a little late, I want to wish my grand nephew Austin a belated Happy Birthday again. I also made the O.M.S.N. meeting yesterday morning and was a little surprised that, apparently I was the only one to see the press conference with First Lady, Michelle Obama, Jill Biden and the President announcing their program that is strikingly similar to what the mission is of O.M.S.N. and the fact that the President has directed 16 or 19 members of his cabinet to put together individual and collectively programs to assist Veterans with the myriad of issues they and their families face, both active and retired. I did watch “The State of The Union” last night and I wish he would have spoke more to that issue. I will now make my pitch for support for election to our International National Convention. They did have my acceptance letter and brother Mike nominated me and I sure hope I get elected. I do want to keep my record intact of making every National Convention I have been eligible for since I joined the United Association. I still have work to do on my bird table. I still need to email all the City Council on the AOH resolution, but being it's consideration and the arrival of Rita O'Hare is delayed until March, I definitely have time. I still didn't get my Kaiser leaflet made, as I have decided to leaflet Kaiser instead of picket, and I will wait to hear from the trust attorney to see if it is needed. He did email me and wanted to talk to me and I did tell him I will be around today and Friday so I hope to hear from him. I won't be available Thursday, as Judi and I will be meeting sister Danni at Spirit Mountain tomorrow. I will post my thoughts again on negotiations in the “OTHER STUFF” section. I also understand that good friend Bob Shiprack is looking for an appointment for Metro and the other one (so far) Bob Stacy is definitely the wrong choice, (JOBS, JOBS, JOBS) and the Labor Press had a very good article in their paper Friday. It appears the Trimet drivers are going to do another informational picket at their next board meeting and it sounds like the Trimet office is not too far from Kaisers main office, so maybe I can help them and if needed my leaflets would be ready by then and they may help me. I want to remind everyone about the Longshore Workers and every worker in Oregon and Washington that the Workers Compensation system NEEDS a little revamping.
Don't forget to say THANK YOU, to all those servicemen and women who have served or are serving. Christopher is back in Afghanistan and I understand nephew Rhyon is heading back there in May, but we did see him, and hope to again before he leaves. So a prayer a day for them from all my readers would sure make me feel better.

The M.S. Walk is scheduled for Saturday April 9th here in Portland and I hope everyone can participate($) in some form or another.
Thank you for your participation in Walk MS. Last year, we raised $588,000 and had more than 5,000 walkers across 10 sites in Oregon and SW Washington. Those funds were crucial to expanding many of the programs and services that the Oregon Chapter aims to provide for its clients each year.

This is also my attempt to keep track of my experiences with Kaiser Permanente and my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the Ampyra and the 4.5mg LDN, I think I'm noticeably better. My BP is 121/75/56, at 11am. After I got an “explanation of benefits” this is not a bill but in the billed amount was $84.10 (exactly the LDN amount) in the next column was allowed amount was $84.10, the member responsibility was 0.00, Kaiser paid 0.00; if the member responsibility was 0.00 WHY DID IT COST ME $84.10?? I did clean a little off of my “nest” here on my Lazyboy and I have a full briefcase just of my Kaiser stuff and I did get a summary from Lloyd Center Pharmacy of the compund medication costs and I was even surprised; It was over $1,000. I will remind everyone that I WILL be taking action with Kaiser Member services, if and when I need to.

I did post the accomplishments for the Presidents 1st 2 years and I did try to list them all; I just wish that E.F.C.A. was one. I know it is a long time still until the 2012 elections, and I'm probably not the first, but I will say right here that; President Obama deserves and has earned his second term, especially after that healing speech in Tuscon, I did think HIS State of the Union address was good for the things he included but as I said before I was hoping for much more. It seemed to me the MOST IMPORTANT NEWS question about the State of the Union speech was, who is sitting next to who. One issue that concerns me is “SPENDING CUTS”, and it seems at the TOP of the list is “entitlement” spending. One of the shows said entitlement spending (social security, medicare?) makes up for 84% of federal spending, does that mean that the D.O.D. Budget with 2+ wars, and interest on the current National Debt only accounts for 16%. HMMMN

The American Rights at Work still needs help. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. OPPS - STEELERS VS BEARS
SORRY ABOUT THAT EARLIER MISTAKE; I THOUGHT HAD THE MISTAKE IN MY "SPORTS" SECTION AND i BETTER GET THIS CORRECTION IN BEFORE THE BEARS - PACKERS GAME IS OVER SO YOU DON'T THINK I'M CHEATING :-0
STEELERS VS JETS AFTER TODAY
PERSONAL:
I awoke at 7:30am to a 3 after a good 7+ hours of sleep. I checked the south deck and it was just above freezing and a foggy morning. I took my am pills, including my stop smoking one and put out my flag. The bird seed I did get and put out on the west deck is still there. I did get my 401k yesterday., so I will call Matt tomorrow. I am watching the talking heads this morning and they all seem to be commenting on how much the President has moved to the right; to get to the center. I shouldn't post to late today because other than the talking heads, NFL, and checking e-mail; face book and watching Oregon Voters Digest I won't be too busy. I made the Union meeting Friday night and it was really packed. It was National Convention nominations night but I didn't last past 9pm because I forgot to take my pm pills, and I missed nephew Steve's report, but I did hear he received a standing ovation. I did have my acceptance letter in and brother Mike nominated me and I sure hope I get elected. I do want to keep my record intact of making every National Convention I have been eligible for since I joined the U.A. and I didn't last long enough to nominate brother Mike, which I really wanted to do, but he did get nominated. John E. did say, based on the membership numbers we should be sending 39/40 delegates. Between my ankle brace and the new medications I was told by many other members I was noticeable more ambulatory. I did put a “SUTTLE HINT” in yesterday for a “WALLY CATCHER”; maybe some golf today, but as of now (9:45am) no takers, oh well, it's still pretty cool and foggy out there. The fact that good friend and brother, Gary Niebert passed, did come as a shock to many at the meeting, he did give so much for the betterment of the Local; former President of Local 235 and training coordinator, please keep him and his family in your prayers. I still have to get back to work on my bird table. I did make and enjoyed greatly our AOH meeting last Tuesday night and I did check Bill's notes, and based on the list of email recipients, there were at least 5-6 names that could have been from Anaconda. I also need to email all the City Council on the resolution. I still didn't get my Kaiser leaflet made, as I have decided to leaflet Kaiser instead of picket, so I didn't any for the Union meeting, I did get 2 emails from the trust attorney and he wants me to tally up what I believe Kaiser owes me. The U.A. Local 290 “Don Salee” Member Assistance Program. Dave reported at the retiree meeting yesterday that the need in the last month has really dropped off, but don't stop doing what you can.

OK, here are my thoughts and suggestions for the up comming Contract negotiations. It is apparent to me that the contractors really want a new Drug program and the “excellence” program. And I think I agree with Buddy that a one year contract would be the most beneficial. 2011 looks like it will be a very good year work wise. If the contractors REALLY want a new “Drug Testing” program and the “excellence” program. If the Negotiating committee wants to get off the cycle of contract negotiations coinciding with the Local Union Elections, it seems to me a 1 year agreement would give both parties a year to shake out the bugs of those 2 “NEW” programs and see if they are really effective and a new contract may be easier to negotiate when both Republicans and Democrats are jockeying for the 2012 elections and we are strongly into the Intel expansion, hopefully the PCC and Portland Public Schools Project Labor Agreements.
Now I think I missed announcing niece in law KATIES birthday too. I did get a card for Austin's B.D. Monday, so I better say now; HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUSTIN!!
MICK, BOB , RON and CHRISTOPHER, stay positive and we will meet on the golf course (but I'm not sure if Ron even Plays) but I will take it easy on all of you. I also talked to good friend Scott Gardner and he wants to get together for some golf. I also heard from good friend and brother Joe McCarthy and he is going in for surgery on his rotator cuff, but as soon as he is well we will get out also.

I awoke at 7:30am to a 3 after a good 7+ hours of sleep. I checked the south deck and it was just above freezing and a foggy morning. I took my am pills, including my stop smoking one and put out my flag. The bird seed I did get and put out on the west deck is still there. I did get my 401k yesterday., so I will call Matt tomorrow. I am watching the talking heads this morning and they all seem to be commenting on how much the President has moved to the right; to get to the center. I shouldn't post to late today because other than the talking heads, NFL, and checking e-mail; face book and watching Oregon Voters Digest I won't be too busy. I made the Union meeting Friday night and it was really packed. It was National Convention nominations night but I didn't last past 9pm because I forgot to take my pm pills, and I missed nephew Steve's report, but I did hear he received a standing ovation. I did have my acceptance letter in and brother Mike nominated me and I sure hope I get elected. I do want to keep my record intact of making every National Convention I have been eligible for since I joined the U.A. and I didn't last long enough to nominate brother Mike, which I really wanted to do, but he did get nominated. John E. did say, based on the membership numbers we should be sending 39/40 delegates. Between my ankle brace and the new medications I was told by many other members I was noticeable more ambulatory. I did put a “SUTTLE HINT” in yesterday for a “WALLY CATCHER”; maybe some golf today, but as of now (9:45am) no takers, oh well, it's still pretty cool and foggy out there. The fact that good friend and brother, Gary Niebert passed, did come as a shock to many at the meeting, he did give so much for the betterment of the Local; former President of Local 235 and training coordinator, please keep him and his family in your prayers. I still have to get back to work on my bird table. I did make and enjoyed greatly our AOH meeting last Tuesday night and I did check Bill's notes, and based on the list of email recipients, there were at least 5-6 names that could have been from Anaconda. I also need to email all the City Council on the resolution. I still didn't get my Kaiser leaflet made, as I have decided to leaflet Kaiser instead of picket, so I didn't any for the Union meeting, I did get 2 emails from the trust attorney and he wants me to tally up what I believe Kaiser owes me. I will post my thoughts again on negotiations in the “OTHER STUFF” section. Don't forget to register at the M.S. Walk Oregon for “WALLY'S WALKERS”.
I also understand that good friend Bob Shiprack is looking for an appointment for Metro and the other one (so far) Bob Stacy is definitely the wrong choice, (JOBS, JOBS, JOBS) and the Labor Press had a very good article in their paper yesterday. Hopefully the Trimet drivers are going to do another informational picket at their next board meeting and it sounds like the Trimet office is not too far from Kaisers main office, so maybe I can help them and they may help me. I want to remind everyone about the Longshore Workers and every worker in Oregon and Washington that the Workers Compensation system NEEDS a little revamping.
9:45pm last night was my last smoke, hopefully; I sure hope you are all rooting for me.

Christopher is back in Afghanistan and I understand nephew Rhyon is heading back there in May, but we did see him, and hope to again before he leaves. So a prayer a day for them from all my readers would sure make me feel better.

The M.S. Walk is scheduled for Saturday April 9th here in Portland and I hope everyone can participate($) in some form or another.

This is also my attempt to keep track of my experiences with Kaiser Permanente and my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the Ampyra and the 4.5mg LDN, I think I'm noticeably better. My BP is 117/69/56; that's pretty good after only 12 hours, at 10:05am. After I got an “explanation of benefits” this is not a bill but in the billed amount was $84.10 ( exactly the LDN amount) in the next column was allowed amount was $84.10, the member responsibility was 0.00, Kaiser paid 0.00; if the member responsibility was 0.00 WHY DID IT COST ME $84.10?? I did clean a little off of my “nest” here on my Lazyboy and I have a full briefcase just of my Kaiser stuff and I am tallying my totals for the trust attorney. I will remind everyone that I WILL be taking action with Kaiser Member services.

I did post the accomplishments for the Presidents 1st 2 years and I did try to list them all; I just wish that E.F.C.A. was one. I know it is a long time still until the 2012 elections, and I'm probably not the first, but I will say right here that; President Obama deserves and has earned his second term, especially after that healing speech in Tuscon, I am really looking forward to HIS State of the Union after watching the talking heads this morning. I am watching This Week on ABC and what I am seeing and hearing is, the MOST IMPORTANT NEWS question about the State of the Union speech is, who is sitting next to who, and who is sleeping in there office? One issue that concerns me is “SPENDING CUTS”, and it seems at the TOP of the list is “entitlement” spending. One of the shows said entitlement spending (social security, medicare?) makes up for 84% of federal spending, does that mean that the D.O.D. Budget with 2+ wars, and interest on the current debt only accounts for 16%. HMMMN
