I slept in this morning until 8:45am and after 12+- hours of sleep I awoke to a 3+ I took my am pills. I slept late and awoke to a 3+ because I did get a couple hours picketing in and then went up to Gloria'z for lunch and ran into a couple of friend's, Bill Hall from Bromley Masonry and a retired electrician, an old friend of IBEW 48 good friend's; Gerry Bruce and Luigi Serio. I will be posting without much new to report, and it may be hard to read today. I know I've been to busy to post the last couple day's but I have been really busy, and today's will be mostly repetitive. I am going to meet up with Al at 1pm so not many changes from here on out, except one BIG announcement, Billy's daughter is getting married in August; so he has MUCH to celebrate. I also saw Jimmy and Susie Judge over the weekend and I hope Al's campaign face book page is still up because he want's to send Al his congratulations. I did get an email from Greg, with the Oregon Historical Society to set up our next session for Friday the 13th. I also received a really nice email from Cory about our interview and signed a release for her (Precarious Egg), and the book she is working on is currently being called “Portland Portraits”, An oral history of non-native Portlander's, and while I am no longer a “Portlander” she believes my life has been sort of interesting :-). I am still making some (I think anyway) major changes and I will continue making BOLD stuff that is new AND that which I think is important on the blog.

My flier for the local branches of Wells Fargo, Chase and Citibank, have been very popular at the union, the AFL-CIO rally downtown; and their local branches, I am thinking today may be a nice enough day to picket today.

I have ordered MY issue of the “History of the AOH in America”, I still have to respond to their request.

OUR LAST AOH MEETING WAS GREAT, AND WE HAD A GREAT DISCUSSION ON WHICH POLITICAL PARTY IN IRELAND WE MIGHT BELONG TO IF WE WERE RESIDENTS AND VOTERS. WE ALSO FOUND OUT GERALD IS OPENING ANOTHER KELL'S AT NW 21ST AND EVERETT, BUT I THINK IT WILL JUST BE BREW PUB AND SPORTS BAR, AND OUR NEXT MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY JANUARY 17TH, AND MAN, DO I HAVE A SURPRISE FOR BROTHER DUFFY AND MARCRAFT !!

I still think we need a few OREGONIANS on Father McManus's “Congressional Friends” list. We must never forget the Ballymurphy Massacre of 1971, (40 years searching for justice). We need to realize along with a number of Irish Catholic's, including a priest that were assassinated that day there were also a number of Northern Irish Protestants. This battle for justice that is being waged here in the U.S.A. by father McManus is also being waged in Belfast Northern Ireland by a heroic Belfast protestant named Raymond McCord Sr., whose son was also assassinated. I have received Father McManus's book and it was signed by our New Assistant G.P., and I now have a better understanding of commissioner Fritz's racist Animosity towards the Irish and apparently New Jersey has it's own racist. I did send Father McManus a check to join his efforts and he sent me a thank you and I am now a Congressional friend of Father McManus, and yes Holmie, I do have your letter to join.

I do have MY signed copy of from Belmullet to Anaconda and it is super cool, and based on what cousin Dan found out about the Monahan's, and what I was told about the Wallace's (Gramma Bossie) being from Tuam, north of Galway also Bab's and Mernie's kids and Mom and Dad's kids may share more gene's than we even thought, and I have begun to update my Mehrens/Monahan blog.
