BRAND NEW M.S. DRUG APPROVED BY FDA

PERSONAL
I awoke this morning at 8am, to a 3 after 10hrs of sleep. It is a cool, damp morning. I took my am pills and put my flag out at 8am. I am down to just 20 pills a day counting my supplements and vitamins, and I am supposed to keep close track of my blood pressure (127/80/53 at 10am) and watch for leg swelling. I turned the T.V. on to C-span to see what was “important” today. On CNBC the DOW was down again over 200 points, a bad 3 days in a row. The good news was that gas was also down. I did get signed up for Medicare and have my Medicare Card in my wallet and I guess I better read the introduction booklet. It does not take effect until April 1st but I did get signed up before Judi! I did also update my Charities and put up a link for “Wally's Walkers” as some links have changed. Thank you Jonna Lynn she was our second donation. I did text Haiti to 90999 and I received a response that the Red Cross will get my $10.00. The retiree meeting yesterday Dave was nice enough to give me 5 minutes to do a report on what information I have found out about the Mehrens's in the U.A. Thatwas why I had two posts yesterday. I did put it in this blog at the end under OTHER STUFF AND COMMUNICATIONS for anyone interested. I am also going to delete a lot of the repetitive stuff to try to keep it under 6 pages for Mike, but it does appear he is NOT the only one reading.
God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day, And when it comes to my last cast
I then must humbly pray. When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep.
That in His mercy, I be judged............Good enough to keep.
My daily prayer, is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear OUR prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, especially for the safe and successful birth of Brandee's baby, good friend Debbie Lee for her loss, nephew Daniel, as he is back in Iraq; and all in need. We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”
Thank You, Mother Mary, for your help and assistance.
I know I have been repeating things, maybe too much, on my blog; but some of this stuff I need to be reminded of and some of this stuff others need to be reminded of, and I've cleared a lot so far.
LDN and AMP REPORT
This is my attempt to keep track of my experiences with my LDN treatment for my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the 4.5mg I think I'm noticeably better. I am experiencing better days and now that I'm doing the new dosage I am seeing a marked change. I have now been on that brand new FDA approved pill, Aminopyridine, and I am very pleased. It is supposed to be good for “gait” issues, even those with primary progressive. My BP should make my primary care Dr. happy.
POLITICAL
I got to watch President Obama's town hall in Ohio this morning and he was very impressive. I am going to put a new section in the blog for Local Political races. I sure hope everyone got their ballots in on measures 66 & 67.
I am still convinced ALL this health care “controversy” that was being generated was to take the publics mind off of the Employee Free Choice Act, American Rights at Work, “card check” legislation. Based on President Trumpka's speech at the National Press Club, and the President's meeting with Labor; I AM feeling much more positive.
How is it, our country is spreading “democracy” around the world, and because of a few U.S. Senators we don't even seem to practice it here in our own country. What was that threat made by the Republicans under Bush, (nuclear option)?
It seems all the talking heads are giving grades to President Obama. He believes he has earned a B+; the talking heads last Sunday morning seemed to be settling at a B. I want to give him his B+ but, I will not, until we see the results of health care and E.F.C.A.. Based on what I have been hearing lately he is just a C+ and depending on E.F.C.A., which I sent another $25.00 to, a B+ is still possible.
I still don't know yet, if the “soft landing” bill is done but that is one issue I will keep harping on until I am sure.
Did you know that there were more vets that died last year because they didn't have health care, than have died in both the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars?
Question of the day. Who was it that came closer to destroying the American Financial System and the American Way? So far the count is, it's George W 7, Bin Laden 5, Madoff 4, Obama & Geitner 1 and a Jeff Grayson, who apparently taught Madoff.
YELLOW RIBBON SECTION
Check www.LetsSayThanks.com often to read feedback from the troops about the Let's Say Thanks program!
We now one nephew in Afghanistan, one back in Iraq and one in S. California getting ready to go; Who knows Where? Sounds like Afghanistan also. Be safe, hurry home.
At the 11th Hour, on the 11th Day, of the 11th Month a cease fire was signed to end the war to end all wars in 1918. How's that worked out so far?
SPORTS
All sports have superstars but I do believe Bret Farve is on a list by himself and he sure looked it Sunday. I am confused however; does this mean cousins Billy and Joey are rooting for the same team?
Giz; You might want to let Peter know; his scouts in Pasadena should be paying close attention to that Mehrens kid, soon to be playing on Jackie Robinson Field.
The loss of Greg Oden and Joel apparently has not had too bad an affect on the Blazers, Joel sure stepped up after Greg went down and since he went down so have the rest of the Blazers. Tonights game against Boston should be a good game.
COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS & CHARITIES
Judi has started on the M.S. Walk that comes up in April already, if you want to become a member of Wally's Walkers, the link has been updated, Jonna Lynn apparently found it. The walk is on April 17, 10 a.m., Pioneer Courthouse Square. Here's the link to the team page:http://walkorc.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR?pg=teamlist&fr_id=13001 If folks want to join, they can just go to that page, scroll down to Wally's Walkers, and then click on the "join team" link.
The Cancer Center at Providence Hospital, as I know they were definitely a comfort to Dianna, her family and friends those last days. Their pink gloves advertisement is great. And because of Joe Lieberman the Susan G. Koman foundation will definitely suffer in their fight against cancer.
The American Rights at Work still needs help. We must not take our eye off the MAIN issue. E.F.C.A.
The U.A. Local 290 “Don Salee” Member Assistance Program.
OTHER STUFF AND COMMUNICATIONS“GET 'ER DONE” - SOFT LANDING ! And give them back their money, and their overdue raise!
Whether you attend a church service, a Mosque, GLBT gathering, or Synagogue service, please say a prayer that God; yours, mine or ours; keeps our service men and women in the Palm of their hand.
Mike; My blog is now 5 pages today.
A History of the Mehrens Family in the United Association
Local Unions 290, 41, & 111
The Mehrens Family in the UA Started in Anaconda, Montana on October 6, 1948 with the initiation of Wallace W. “Lefty” Mehrens that began a long history of family in the family of the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters, AFL-CIO.
Lefty started in the Pipe Shop of the Anaconda Company Smelter in Anaconda, Montana when he was 26 years old. After serving 17 years at the Smelter he decided to take his skills “on the road” and traveled from Wyoming to Washington then to eventually settle in Portland Oregon's Local Union 235 in 1965.
As the Patriarch of the Mehrens Family he started a legacy of over 338 years of Mehrens's and relatives in Local 235 and it's successor U.A. Local 290., and Local 111. He had over 44 years of membership in the United Association and his family members have served in numerous capacities in this Local.
His eldest son, William W. “Wally”, a pipefitter/welder, started in the Portland Shipyards. He started his career as a politically active member, as an alternate delegate that attended the 1976 U.A. Convention. There has been at least 1 Mehrens at every U.A. National Convention since. He has been a Shop Steward, foreman, general foreman and was elected as Local Union 235 Vice-President and chairman of the Executive Board in 1977. He was elected as a business agent in local 235 in 1983. Following the merger of the various in-state UA Locals and the chartering of U.A. Local 290 in the mid 1980's he was appointed a business agent then elected U.A. Local 290's first President. He has attended every U.A. National Convention since he was initiated. He was elected Executive Secretary of the Columbia Pacific Building Trades Council, AFL-CIO in 1988. A position he held until he retired, due to health reasons, in 2005. He currently has over 37 years membership in the U.A.

His former son-in-law Rick Hindman, a 40+- year member and current Finance Board member, U.A. Training Center Welding Instructor and volunteer of countless hours for many committee's and boards. He is also a second generation U.A. Member whose family is also a long time U.A. Family. He and his brother Bernie have been referred to as two of the best heliarc welders in the whole of the U.A..
Lefty has 2 nephews and 1 nephew-in-law, James Anthony Mehrens, B.T. Pipefitter; William Francis, Mehrens, B.T. Steamfitter; and Dennis Hutzenbieler, B.T. Pipefitter with over 75+ years combined membership in this Local.
