PEACE BE WITH YOU; ASLAM ALYKM

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 7:45am today after 9hrs of sleep to a 3 with some lower back pain and put on my cast. I took my pills and put out my flag. I found out Thursday I lost two good friends and I didn't even know Bob was sick and I had just seen Jim at the Labor Day pic-nic and we talked about him being one of my “Wally Catchers” at the OSBT Golf tournament. I believe he they boy will be welcomed into the house of the Lord as they spent most of their lives working for other people, Brother Bob Spickers life celebration will be today at Joe Edgar Hall at 2pm and I will attempt to make it. I volunteered to help at the 290 pic-nic tomorrow and I forgot about the picnic Sunday, BULL Dinner & Auction Monday and BULL Golf Tuesday, 6am. I hope You all can get down to “Other Stuff and Communications for my comments on 9-11. I did finally get my ridelin so hopefully that will assist with my energy levels. I am probably going to irritate many of my Oregon friends who are Republicans, and I do have something, in the Political and Other Stuff sections of my blog. (that's called a tease in media jargon) I still believe Kaiser's actions constitute a change in coverage since my qualification for Medicare, but I still haven't contacted Medicare yet, but I did get a letter that the “appeal” has moved to a new Kaiser official and I should get a response within 30 days. If you want to see Regina Brett's 45 life lessons you will have to check my September 7th blog,

I still believe the U of O is ANTI-UNION, and it appears to me now that they are not alone. Keep up the heat.

Cousin Larry Pahut's, run off election is in November and he will also need more help. I will say thank you to any and all that helped. That would be a picture of our grandfather there on the right, John L. Monahan, L for Larry? His sister, Patty Ann Sullivan is his Campaign Manager and must have done a fine job. I actually did send him a check, and you can too. I would ask all to give what they can. (campaign H.Q. Are 400 Spruce, Anaconda, Montana 59711) Based on the fact he is in a run off they will probably still need more funds, maybe I'll get my checks from S.S. or Kaiser before November.

God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day, And when it comes to my last cast, I then must humbly pray. When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep, that in His mercy, I be judged............Good enough to keep.

**** My daily prayer, is to Mary Mother of God... ”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, the welcoming of Uncle Sandy and good friends Bob and Jim into the house of the Lord, for the safe return of nephew Christopher from Afghanistan; good family friend Pat Percin, cousin Larry Pahut in his endeavor to become the Deer Lodge County Justice of the Peace, cousin Mick, nephew Arron, Kelli's Mom who is having some health issues; and all in need. We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”
Thank You, Mother Mary, for your help and assistance, especially for BRINGING DANIEL HOME SAFELY, and protecting Christopher; for the safe delivery of Brandee's new baby girl, Mick; and those, NOW covered with Health Care.

I know I have been repeating things, maybe too much, on my blog; but some of this stuff I need to be reminded of and some of this stuff others need to be reminded of.

M.S., and LDN REPORT

This is my attempt to keep track of my experiences with my LDN treatment for my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the 4.5mg, I think I'm noticeably better, I have changed when I take it to coincide with my noon regimen. I am experiencing better days and now that I'm doing the new dosage I am seeing a marked change. I stopped taking that brand new FDA approved pill on august 27th, Aminopyridine and I think I am be seeing a change in my balance. It was supposed to be good for “gait” issues, even those with primary progressive. My BP is 124/88/55 at 9:30am.

POLITICAL

For my Oregon voting Republican friends; Where was Kitzhabers opponent, from Washington, when one of his teammates, a classy Oregon Taxpaying citizen from West Linn Oregon, was raising funds to fight Parkinsons Disease? (Mr. Brian Grant) If he was around I apparently missed it.

Does the Party of NO not remember the unselfish actions of all those first responders on 9-11 2001? And don't they care if they still have a job on the 9th anniversary?

Is there anyone in either house of congress that makes less than $250,00 a year taxable income? Could THAT be why they want to keep ALL of the George W. Bush Tax cuts, including the top 2%?

CHECK OUT PAST BLOGS FOR THE Top 5 Social Security Myths. I am only going to list the first one from now on, as it is the biggest, as far as I'm concerned and I will save the space.

Myth #1: Social Security is going broke.
Reality: There is no Social Security crisis.  By 2023, Social Security will have a $4.6 trillion surplus (yes, trillion with a 'T').  It can pay out all scheduled benefits for the next quarter-century with no changes whatsoever. After 2037, it'll still be able to pay out 75% of scheduled benefits—and again, that's without any changes. The program started preparing for the Baby Boomers' retirement decades ago. Anyone who insists Social Security is broke probably wants to break it themselves.

If you have been following my blog you must be aware that I am not the happiest with the actions or inactions of Congress or the President but I truly believe that in his year and a half he has got more done for me and working men and women of this country than has been accomplished in decades and I just can't believe there are polls out there that have the Democrats behind by 10 points for the fall elections. (John Bohener as Speaker of the house), could there possibly be that many people that want to go BACK to the BUSH years?

If your looking for that little piece that was forwarded from my Uncle Hank; you will have to check a past blog:

LOCAL

Hi Wally,

My name is Arielle and I'm helping out on the Kitzhaber campaign. I'd love to help you put the recent email in your blog. Here is the link to the youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?

Best wishes DR. JOHN and good luck. Apparently KGW TV may have got the ballplayer to agree to a debate on September 30th. I'll believe it when I see it! I am going to try to put an interactive link here on the blog with a message from Governor Kitzhaber.

Instead of debating the issues, The Republican candidate is still avoiding them – running glossy TV ads with empty slogans and stirring music. Oregonians deserve more: a real discussion about the issues between the candidates - and grassroots campaigns that take that discussion to the doorstep.

YELLOW RIBBON SECTION

NEPHEW CHRISTOPHER IS IN AFGHANISTAN STILL
BUT SURE SOUNDED GOOD ON THE PHONE. Thank you for your service and you are in our prayers every day. It appears our prayers are being heard.

ONE RIBBON STILL UP, FOR CHRISTOPHER, be safe, hurry home, and it was great to hear from you.

DON'T FORGET, SOFT LANDING BILL

Please check the sites I have under YELLOW RIBBON as they all could use help.

If you are flying the American Flag, please keep flying it, especially today, until ALL our Troops return home.

At the 11th Hour, on the 11th Day, of the 11th Month a cease fire was signed to end the war to end all wars in 1918. How's that worked out so far?

SPORTS

I have tried to sign up for Fantasy Football 3 times so far, but I don't know if any of them worked? That was a good game last night between the Vikings and Saints. (The Pagans and the Christians, someone said)

It's still MLB Time, Hey Chicago, what do ya say, go Cubs go, Cubs gonna win today! Lou, we are going to miss you; but there is always next year.

And yes Mark, I will still check the Mariners schedule and try to get up there, but the season is fast ending so I don't know if I can.

Speaking of struggling teams, besides the Cubs and Mariners and Orioles; Peter you may have your people keep an eye on that Mehrens kid that should be playing fall ball for the S. Cal Rangers, I have been trying to follow his progress on line and he definitely has the right stuff, based on what I've read he will be making a wonderful closer.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS & CHARITIES

The American Rights at Work still needs help. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, our two Senators haven't. E.F.C.A. Especially in light of that mine disaster in West Virginia and those Rig explosions in the Gulf.

The U.A. Local 290 “Don Salee” Member Assistance Program.

OTHER STUFF AND COMMUNICATIONS

Do you remember where you were on 9-11-2001? I was walking a picket line in Seaside Oregon, I was NOT reading to grade school kids (like President Bush), I was not hunkered down in my bunker (like V.P. Cheney), I was not taking control of the government (like Attorney General Ashcroft). I was arguing with a non-union superintendent on why I could possibly be picketing his job when the tragedy in New York was unfolding and I asked him how HE could be treating the day as any other work day with the tragedy unfolding in New York. After most of his crew left and I went back to my hotel room and the News was reporting that it was not just a single plane accident and the gravity of the situation.

A special note for all those so called Christians threatening to burn the Koran today, I would put you in the same category as Jim Jones, David Koresh, the Oklahoma City Bomber and ALL of the Book Burners of the past.

For my Muslim friends, I'm not exactly how many I have but; “Aslam Alykm” for my Christian and Catholic friends “May Peace be with You”.

****Thank You Rita****

Dear friends,

Already, we have begun a look back at the happenings of a September 11, 2001.  9-11 will be forever etched into our memories.   Poems, prayers, art, emails, letters, TV shows, newscasts, radio broadcasts have all been instrumental in both defining the moment and reminding us of the carnage.  “Wear Red, White and Blue” or “Turn Your Car Lights On” serve to remind us of the nature of the day, and the feelings that we share for this land in which we have been privileged to live.  I was thinking what can we do on that day to make it a true memorial to those who died and who served on that day and in the months that followed.  I came up with the following… maybe if we all took a moment on 9-11, we could show the world the true spirit of America…  The best to honor all of those who died, is to live:

Tell your child, your parent, your spouse, your friend that you love him or her
Thank a person connected with your personal protection: a member of the fire or police department, an emergency medical technician, a doctor, a nurse, a security guard
Take a moment to pray for all involved in our Armed Forces, and make an effort to connect with those who have returned to us marked in some way from the battle
Turn off the computer, TV, Video Game, radio, stereo – and listen to whoever comes to ask for your time
Don’t spread gossip; and stop others from spreading it
Clean the closet and pantry; make a donation to Goodwill, St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Worker House, a shelter
Donate Blood
Volunteer your time and services for a Habitat for Humanity project, at a nursing home or hospital or jail or any number of Social Services
Read a story to or play a game with your child
Check into the Peace Corps or Ameri-corps; offer your time, services and/or money
Check out the many charities that are in need and help one
Pay a compliment to someone
Clean your room, take out the garbage or wash the dishes without being told
Pay tribute to our servicemen and women, active, reserve, and retired.  They have and continue to put their lives on the line to maintain the ideals we hold.
Smile!
Take a co-worker or old friend to lunch
Admit your faults humbly, but remember that we are co-creators, so use your gifts, talents and blessings to lift someone up or create something positive
Just visit a nursing home, prison, orphanage, homeless shelter or hospital
Take your family and friends to church
Meet your neighbor!  Learn and share about one another’s family’s and cultures
Forgive someone who you perceived (rightly or wrongly) as harming you
Reconcile with someone who you know has something against you (rightly or wrongly).
Call an elderly relative and let them know that you are thinking of them
Remind yourself and your friends and family that this was not an act of God. Rather, it was an act of men who chose to bring harm to many.
Pray for those who have persecuted us.

And at the end of the day, when the shadows deepen and darkness settles in:

Light a candle – put it in your front window
In honor of those who perished in the planes
In honor of those who perished or were injured attempting to rescue and help others
For their families
For the hungry, the illiterate
For the suffering in every country, especially countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq
For the families of those who lost loved ones in Afghanistan
For our government and our military

Light a candle, and show the world that 9-11 was but a moment of darkness, and we have been given the Light that will conquer the darkness, and with the blessing of God we will shine brightly once again!

****Thank You Mary Ellen****
May love and laughter light your days
And warm your heart and homes
May good and faithful friends be yours wherever you may roam
May peace and plenty bless your world with joy that long endures
May all life's passing seasons bring the best to you and yours

Whether you attend a church service, a Mosque, GLBT gathering, or Synagogue service, please say a prayer that God; yours, mine or ours; keeps our service men and women in the Palm of their hand.

Mike; My blog is 6 pages, and over 2,600 words today, I think.
