DOES A WASHINGTON RESIDENT HAVE TO PAY OREGON INCOME TAX ON EARNINGS MADE OUTSIDE OF OREGON?

PERSONAL

I awoke this morning at 7:45am today after 9+hrs of sleep to a 3, with some back pain, took my pills and put out my flag. It will be a combined posting today, yesterday's and today's. I did go to the DEBATE rally Thursday night and it was well attended, I did see Joe E. Tom C. and good friend Duke Sheppard. I went to the Blitz at the pearl where the Kitzhaber group was meeting to watch the debate. Unfortunately, there were 2 different functions and the Kitzhaber group was “downstairs” and the place was definitely NOT handicap accessible. The elevator was broke and I couldn't get down there but they had large screen TV's and while they had 2 tables on the street they were not sending anyone out to serve. I met Joe E. there and carried my beer out to the table. I couldn't park my scooter just inside as there was an elderly lady who had parked her scooter just inside the doorway but found a chair to sit in upstairs and watch and hear it. Because of the other party there they decided to turn up the music, which drowned out the sound, but the TV used a scrolling at the bottom so we could at least see what they were saying. It got so loud the woman with the scooter left and it opened up the spot just inside the doorway. As I was watching, because I couldn't hear, the waitress came over and turned off the TV I could see. I didn't see Joe again so I left PO'D. At the AOH meeting Tuesday, President Bill Gallager was absent, as he had to go to San Francisco to tend to his failing health father. Please add him to your prayers. The meeting was enjoyable but short and we decided to try to get the City and State to pass a resolution supporting “united Ireland”, similar to the ones passed around the Country and use the language of the one passed in San Francisco. David O' was going to write and deliver it to the city and we believed we should have support with the Mayor and Councilman Leonard being good Irishmen. While at City Hall I was going to try to talk to Sam and Randy about it, but they went into a meeting just as we finished our LINK business at Commissioner Saltzman's. I will try to remember to send an emaill to the council. I missed Joe Esmonde at the AOH and the rally but I did get to see him Thursday night.
I am also going to miss the “One Nation Working Together Rally” Today, as I slept in and need my back brace to get ready for golf tomorrow. I sent text messages to many and it looks like it will be tomorrow at 1:45pm at Gresham. I hope you can make the Oregon AFL-CIO canvass today for Governor Kitzhaber and Representative Kurt Schrader at 10am from the Machinist's Lodge 24 at 3645 SE 32nd and would ask all that can to participate. The NWOLC and AFL-CIO also did a get out the vote, phone banks, this last week and later in October, help there if you can also. I want to suggest to all my Washington family and readers to consider an absentee ballot. If we get OUR vote out we will win. Judi accompanyed Mary to a meeting at the beach this weekend and I called last night but she hung up on me and when I tried two more times I got a busy signal, so I called this morning and got her voice mail and left a message. She was trying to hook up her computer on their local net work but was having trouble as her phone went dead, and I started getting a busy signal. She did get my voice mail this morning and returned my call after breakfast so all is well; no Sunami from those Indonesian earthquakes.
I sure hope brother Marty's trip back to Alaska, went better than the trip home, I did get a text and I will try to call Kelli and see if he got an absentee ballot.
I did redesign my front page with the picture of the Anaconda St. Paddy's day parade AOH banner. I will try to be less repetitive today as I understand my readers think I may have been too repetitive. I will ask you again, my faithful following, what YOU think I should drop?
I will keep the connection to the Komen Walk as I think they are still taking donations. I did hear from Patti at ATPA and she has left me hopeful my Kaiser issues may be on the road to resolution. I did get my new Wyden for Senate lawn sign and Kitzhaber for Governor signs up but my lawn guys took them down and while I tried to put them back up they were glued together so I will have to get two new ones and I haven't found my Brent Barton ones yet. (A democrat corner in a R neighborhood)

I still believe the U of O is ANTI-UNION, and it appears to me now that they are not alone. Keep up the heat.

Cousin Larry Pahut's, run off election is in November and he will also need more help. I think he can start legally campaigning this week? I will say thank you to any and all that helped. That would be a picture of our grandfather there on the right, John L. Monahan, L for Larry? His sister, Patty Ann Sullivan is his Campaign Manager and must have done a fine job. I actually did send him a check, and you can too. I would ask all to give what they can. (campaign H.Q. Are 400 Spruce, Anaconda, Montana 59711) Based on the fact he is in a run off they will probably still need more funds, maybe I'll get my checks from S.S. or Kaiser before November.

God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day, And when it comes to my last cast, I then must humbly pray. When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep, that in His mercy, I be judged............Good enough to keep.

**** My daily prayer, is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, the welcoming of Uncle Sandy and good friends Bob and Jim into the house of the Lord, for the safe return of nephew Christopher from Afghanistan; good family friend Pat Percin, cousin Larry Pahut in his endeavor to become the Deer Lodge County Justice of the Peace, cousin Mick, nephew Arron, Kelli's Mom, Bills Dad, and those who are having health issues; and all in need. We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”
Thank You, Mother Mary, for your help and assistance, especially for BRINGING DANIEL HOME SAFELY, and protecting Christopher; for the safe delivery of Brandee's new baby girl, Mick and Gloria; and those, NOW covered with Health Care.

I know I have been repeating things, apparently too much, on my blog; but some of this stuff I need to be reminded of and some of this stuff others need to be reminded of.

M.S. REPORT

This is my attempt to keep track of my experiences with my LDN treatment for my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the 4.5mg, I think I'm noticeably better, I have changed the LDN to coincide with my noon regimen. I am experiencing better days now that I'm doing the L.D.N.. I stopped taking that brand new FDA approved pill on August 27th, Aminopyridine but I spoke with a guy whose sister has M.S. (relapsing remitting I think) and I think I she saw a marked change in her balance. She has gone from using a walker, to using a cane, to needing nothing. I understand it is supposed to be good for “gait” issues, even those with primary progressive. I did email my Primary Dr. to get some more Chiropractor visits but I haven't heard back from her yet. My BP is 120/76/62 at 9:45am.

POLITICAL

I watched C-span and the R's were fighting AGAINST the setting up of a fund for the 1st responders and those affected by the 9-11 attack. That Smith jerk R-Texas is calling it a “slush fund”.

I DID MAKE THE RE-ELECT RON WYDEN FOR SENATE PICNIC AT OAKS PARK, and thank you for the personal time and your quick response. I have your sign up and my KITZHABER one also. That jerk running against Senator Wyden and running those ads appears to be attacking Senator Wyden for voting to get those of US that make less than $250,000 a tax break.
I reported on the long awaited gubernatorial debate and I hope everyone understood my displeasure from the service and facilities at “Blitz at the Pearl”. I wonder if anyone checked with the Oregon Department of Revenue to confirm Dud paid state income taxes even for the income earned on away games. As we all know it has been a looooong time since I worked in the field, but it seems to me when a construction worker who lived in Washington and worked for an Oregon Contractor (employer) in Washington they did not have to pay Oregon Income taxes on those earnings.

If you have been following the YELLOW RIBBON section I do believe that is the same Larry Roberta I reported on when nephew Daniel came back from Iraq in those moving RE-ELECT U.S. CONGRESSMAN KURT SCHRADER ads and I am definitely one that would like to see him sent back to D.C..

CHECK OUT PAST BLOGS FOR THE Top 5 Social Security Myths. I am only going to list the first one from now on, as it is the biggest, as far as I'm concerned and I will save the space.

Myth #1: Social Security is going broke.
Reality: There is no Social Security crisis. By 2023, Social Security will have a $4.6 trillion surplus (yes, trillion with a 'T'). It can pay out all scheduled benefits for the next quarter-century with no changes whatsoever. After 2037, it'll still be able to pay out 75% of scheduled benefits—and again, that's without any changes. The program started preparing for the Baby Boomers' retirement decades ago. Anyone who insists Social Security is broke probably wants to break it themselves.

The nation's retirement deficit--the gap between your current pension/retirement savings and what you should have for retirement--is a staggering $6.6 trillion. Yet there are calls to cut Social Security, fewer people have pensions and 401(k)s have been decimated. It's time to wake up Washington and tell lawmakers to keep their hands off of Social Security and fix our patchwork private retirement system.

If you have been following my blog you must be aware that I am not the happiest with the actions or inactions of Congress or the President but I truly believe that in his year and a half he has got more done for me and working men and women of this country than has been accomplished in decades and I just can't believe there are polls out there that have the Democrats behind by 10 points for the fall elections. (John Bohener as Speaker of the house), could there possibly be that many people that want to go BACK to the BUSH years? (that is in this new Contract on America)

If your looking for that little piece that was forwarded from my Uncle Hank; you will have to check a past blog, “NO, HELL NO”!

LOCAL

LARRY PAHUT FOR DEER LODGE COUNTY, MONTANA JUSTICE OF THE PEACE.

BRENT BARTON FOR OREGON SENATE.

Kathy Roth for Oregon City Commissioner
.

I did get 2 of my Cheryl Meyers for State Representative Lawn signs up and I hope having those 2 and 2 Mike Schauffler for State Representative signs in the yard doesn't confuse people, I imagine getting Ron's, John's and Brents signs up should alleviate that.

I did see where he was complaining that the Oregon minimum wage was too high. Lets see:
NBA MIN WAGE $400,000 divided by 82 games = $8,878.05 a game =101.63 per minute = $6,000+ hr = 813 min wage workers working. DOES A WASHINGTON RESIDENT (DUD), WORKING FOR AN OREGON EMPLOYER (TRAILBLAZERS) OUTSIDE OF OREGON (SEATTLE SONICS) HAVE TO PAY OREGON INCOME TAX ON THOSE EARNINGS?

Shouldn't elections at least be about the “CHARACTOR” of the candidates, not just how they will help or hurt us?

YELLOW RIBBON SECTION

NEPHEW CHRISTOPHER IS IN AFGHANISTAN STILL BUT SURE SOUNDED GOOD ON THE PHONE. Thank you for your service and you are in our prayers every day. It does appear our prayers are being heard.

SPORTS

It appears the Americans are getting trounced in the Ryder Cup today.

It looks like no Mariners game but maybe the Seahawks? They looked pretty good against the Chargers.

PAC 10 ACTION TODAY, OREGON AND OREGON STATE ARE BOTH AT HOME, NO TIME TO BE ON I-5.

Speaking of struggling teams, besides the Cubs and Mariners and Orioles; Peter you may have your people keep an eye on that Mehrens kid that should be playing fall ball for the S. Cal Rangers, I have been trying to follow his progress on line and he definitely has the right stuff, based on what I've read he will be making a wonderful closer.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS & CHARITIES

The American Rights at Work still needs help. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. Especially in light of that mine disaster in West Virginia and those Rig explosions in the Gulf.
