***164 YEARS TOMORROW !! ***

PERSONAL & PROPAGANDA:

I awoke this morning at 6:30am and after 9+ hours of sleep, I awoke to a 2+. I took my pill's at 6:45am. I did get a lot done yesterday, got the car washed and detailed, an oil change, new wiper's and top off of all the fluid's (finally) at oil can henry's and I know it has been too long since I last did this, as the complete service was over $100 and the guy under the car did mention, as he was draining the oil; you could roll a drop up in your finger's and throw it against the wall and it would probably stick to the wall. I did make the V.O.C. meeting Monday night and I thought it went very well, I missed the first one and they had six sisters and brother's there, we had over 20 last night, with many great suggestions; and we set a regular schedule for the 1st Monday of the month. I am working on my “Rat Patrol” web site and I shared what I had so far with both cousin Billy at 290 and John Mohlis at the Oregon State Building Trades and asked for suggestions or comment's. I did finish the book I got from the library at St. John the Baptist/Christ the King on Saint Patrick, by Richard Cardinal Cushing and it was a pleasant and enlightening read and reinforced my Irish Catholic heritage. I will repeat again it is that time of the year to begin saving up and requesting support for cousin Denise Hutzenbieler' up coming EPILEPSY Walk in Seattle, please check out my “community organizers and charities section”; ALL HELP APPRECIATED, I also found out that, along with so many other problem's, nephew Stevie and wife Katie have to deal with; she also suffers from epilepsy!! I not make it to Kell's tomorrow for the 164th anniversary celebration of the arrival of “Ancestor Ann Monahan” as I will be going to Holy Thursday Mass in Milwaukie at 7pm, but I will raise one at a nearby pub at 6pm. I did “finish” my shadow box and I will try to get a picture of it before I take it to the hall. I will not make it to the CPBT but I hope to get the information on their 5/6 main bad contractor's for “Wally's Rat Patrol” blog soon. The DOW is down almost 150+ point's so far this morning.

I will put the prayers I have been posting again right here up front, especially for sister Danni; and thank you all for Rhyon, Christopher and now cousin Amy.

My B.P. today is 126/73/52 at 9am, pretty good; I think anyway. I did also contact the Trust for help with the new bed that IS getting me a good night's sleep, and it sounds like they will attempt to help, although I am still waiting to hear from ATPA.

POLITICAL:

THE SUPREME COURT HEARD ARGUMENTS ON THE “CONSTITUTIONALITY” OF “OBAMA CARE”, AND AFTER LISTENING TO THE RGUMENT'S I AM STILL LEANING TO A 6-3 DECISION TO UPHOLD, so far at least.

Putting Americans to Work in American Forests
In 2009, Jeff fought hard for funding for jobs in Oregon's forests as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, to put unemployed Oregonians to work thinning our overgrown, choked second-growth forests. However, the companies hired to do the work evaded federal law to import cheap foreign workers, advertising for the jobs far from where the work was being done, then declaring there were no eligible Americans to do the work.

When Jeff learned about this outrage, he demanded answers from the Department of Labor, and recently partnered with Congressman Peter Defazio to introduce a bill that will fill the holes in the H-2B visa program so incidents like this one never happen again. The bill will force companies to work with the state's employment department to ensure there really are no Americans available before visas are granted. No one can say with a straight face there were not Oregonians ready and willing to work in the forests in 2009 and 2010.

RON WYDEN FOR UNITED STATES SENATOR FROM OREGON; I have considered him a personal friend for a few decades and his stands taken for us retiree's, women's right's; and fighting attempt of the r's to kill the Keystone pipeline, also putting the onus for getting our state forrestry payment's back right in the pocket of congressman Greg Walden and the house of representatives!

The major changes that the Blazer's are making I must say they still greatly concern me, and it looks like we will have to wait until next year.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS & CHARITIES:

UNION REPORT:

We still to remember Brother Jimmy Walters, Brother Bill Edens are recovering from vascular surgery and Brother Jim Zettlow who is fighting Mesothelioma, so please add them to your prayers for a speedy and successful recoveries.

I did make the V.O.C. meeting and with almost 3 times as many rank and file members as the first one we decided we will be regularly meeting the first Monday of the month, and I have begun the first draft of my “WALLY'S RAT PATROL” blog, and thank you my sisters and brothers for your support of our O.M.S.N. request, and maybe we can get some assistance for Brother Dennis Hutzenbieler's daughter Denise.

It is the political season and I would encourage all you politico's to get a “Union Bug” on your printed material. I personally prefer Hollywood Impress, because they have always met my needs.

FAMILY REPORT:

I have my “shadow box” completed and hope to get that picture today, being the Mehrens family has 430+- years in the United Association from Portland, Oregon to Iron Mountain, Michigan! I know this may be considered an unnessesary repeat but, I am sooo proud.

BIG ANNIVERSARY TOMORROW (164 years), ARE YOU READY ? I'll be celebrating at 6pm PDT and I'm sure it will be celebrated in many cities, towns and States, Thank You, Ancestor Ann. I have received confirmation that it will be happening here, in Texas, Montana, Washington, Hawaii and maybe even Nevada.
