MR PRESIDENT, GET US OUT OF AFGHANISTAN AND IRAQ

PERSONAL

I awoke at 6am today after 9hrs of sleep to a 3. I took my pills and put up my flag. I am still going to try to shorten my blog as I am not so sure many read it anyway.

I am still impressed with the President with his handling of B.P.. I do wish that his campaign statement that he was going to get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan was higher on his priority list though.

I will try to move those 2 new connections to the “Front Page”. They are, 1) a connection to the Big Ed Schultz web site (http://www.bigeddieradio.com/) and B) a connection to the MADE IN USA website ( http://www.madeinusaforever.com). Can you believe it? There are actually republicans calling the $20B fund set up by B.P. and the Feds a “shake down”!

I did go to the PUC public meeting and I will be added 2 more people to my ZERO list, Sam Adams, Mayor of Portland, and Lloyd Marbet, based on what I heard last night. I did get the chance to speak and to send in my comments this morning, as follows:

to: Oregon State Public Utility Commission

re: P.G.E. 20/20 Plan

Dear Commissioners:

I attended the public hearing at the Portland Building last night. Thank you for allowing me to testify and putting up with the many Jerks in attendance.

I was only able to stay until just past 8pm and I actually listened to the testimony. I thought that the most moving testimony was from the individual that said he was not from PGE and read the submitted testimony from both PGE and the Sierra Club. And after reading both he concluded that the 20/20 plan was the reasonable one.

I have not reviewed the proceedings as of yet, but I shall. The African American Woman that worked with Low income families and stated that the comment, that the closing of the Boardman plant should only cost ratepayers about a McDonalds hamburger was, I believe, the most compelling.

I thought it interesting that in a state with over 10% unemployment and dependent on income tax for essential services, including education, that the majority of petition's submitted appeared to come from schools or students organizations, most of which depend on someone else to pay taxes to keep them going or have not even entered the job market.

I did not write 5/6 pages of testimony to turn in like Lloyd Marbet, who has spent a lifetime fighting all things P.G.E.

The point I was trying to make was that, I too believe we need to get off of Crude Oil and refine our energy policies. I used my “scooter” to get to the microphone and I was the one with 3 nephews who have served or are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. My scooter is electric and runs on a lithium battery that is supposed to last 10 hours. The recent discovery of those rich lithium deposits in Afghanistan makes me concerned we will be there for many years to come.

I believe that coal is the most abundant source of energy in this country. I do hope that this country can develop an energy system that does not need “dirty old oil”, the gulf coast fiasco comes to mind. Mining coal and drilling for oil are very dangerous jobs also.

But I would submit, those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan are doing dangerous jobs and I would venture a guess, most of them would rather have the opportunity to work in a coal mine, an oil rig, OR POWER PLANT than in the ALL VOLUNTEER SERVICES.

Sincerely;

William W. “Wally” Mehrens

I am still waiting on Kaiser to check and see if my donut hole is plugged ; they took the forms and told me once they were “processed” I would get a “check in the mail”, less my regular deductible.(still waiting for the check but I did get a statement on what they paid)

We have PUBLISHED AUTHOR in the family and I think she is only a few sales away from making the Clackamas County Review best seller list. If you check on the picture here on the front page it should take you to where you can order her book. Until she started writing that cookbook I never realized how many people needed Gluten Free food. I also have another book to recommend. “The Opposite Field” by Jessie Katz. I would encourage anyone who likes Baseball, in particular little league, to get that book. It has been a really good read so far, and I would recommend a new one from Ed Schultz, “Killer Politics”.

I really didn't think the U of O is ANTI-UNION, but it sure appears to me now that they are. I guess I'm too old now but I do remember a time I worked with both Cecil and Wayne Drinkward of Hoffman, who built a great construction company, and while we did not always agree on stuff their word WAS their bond and even they wouldn't come up with such a scam.

NEPHEW CHRISTOPHER IS IN AFGHANISTAN STILL, and thank you for your service and you are in our prayers every day.

Cousin Larry Pahut's, run off election is in November and he will also need more help. I will say thank you to any and all that helped. That would be a picture of our grandfather there on the right, John L. Monahan, L for Larry? His sister, Patty Ann Sullivan is his Campaign Manager and must have done a fine job. I actually did send him a check, and saw that it had been cashed and would ask all to give what they can. (campaign H.Q. Are 400 Spruce, Anaconda, Montana 59711) Based on the fact he is in a run off they will probably still need more funds.

Even though Sandy wasn't so much a fisherman I am sure he is in the net.

God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day, And when it comes to my last cast, I then must humbly pray. When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep, that in His mercy, I be judged............Good enough to keep.

My daily prayer, is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear OUR prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today, the welcoming of Uncle Sandy into the house of the Lord, for the safe return of nephew Christopher from Afghanistan; good family friend Pat Percin, all those families suffering from those mine disasters in West Virginia and Kentucky, the coast residents of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida and Georgia (those Drill Baby Drill states); cousin Larry Pahut in his endeavor to become the Deer Lodge County Justice of the Peace; and all in need. We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”
Thank You, Mother Mary, for your help and assistance, especially for BRINGING DANIEL HOME SAFELY; for the safe delivery of Brandee's new baby girl,; and those, NOW covered with Health Care.

I know I have been repeating things, maybe too much, on my blog; but some of this stuff I need to be reminded of and some of this stuff others need to be reminded of.

M.S., LDN and AMP REPORT

This is my attempt to keep track of my experiences with my LDN treatment for my Neurologist and his RN. So far with the 4.5mg, I think I'm noticeably better, especially since I am starting my day with it instead of finishing the day. I am experiencing better days and now that I'm doing the new dosage I am seeing a marked change. I have now been on that brand new FDA approved pill, Aminopyridine, even though I missed a few times, I am very pleased. It is supposed to be good for “gait” issues, even those with primary progressive. My B.P. was 123/77/66 at 7:45am today.

POLITICAL

Am I the only one that sees a general connection between the “Tea Partiers”, the “Michigan Militia” and all the other CRAZIES out there, to the “MANSON FAMILY” and Dick Army as the new Manson?

DO YOU THINK ALL THOSE “LITTLE” PEOPLE IN THE GULF, WAITING ON ALL THAT B.P. OIL TO COME ASHORE WOULD RATHER HAVE HAD AN L.N.G. PLANT? ( this is for all my Oregon Anti LNG readers)

WELL DONE EARL ! WELL DONE KURT ! WELL DONE RON! WELL DONE BIG ED!

HURRY HOME AND BE SAFE CHRISTOPHER

Larry Roberta, a reclusive Aumsville veteran whose story of health problems from hexavalent chromium exposure in The Oregonian alerted his fellow soldiers, most of whom live between Forest Grove, McMinnville and Gresham. Roberta's testimony before the Oregon Legislature last year helped create a fund for soldiers who develop cancer as a result of this exposure, and if you noticed I now have a follower with the same name. Roberta, 44, has also launched the Web site www.qarmat-ali-vets.com, which includes a logo of an orange ribbon with a skull and crossbones., is the one that all with friends and family in Iraq, should visit.

At the 11th Hour, on the 11th Day, of the 11th Month a cease fire was signed to end the war to end all wars in 1918. How's that worked out so far?

SPORTS

It's MLB Time, Hey Chicago, what do ya say, go Cubs go, Cubs gonna win today!

Hey, Seattle has a streak going and they didn't give Lou, or the Cubs a good welcome while they were here.

And yes Mark, I will check the Mariners schedule and try to get up there before the summers over.

Speaking of struggling teams, Go Orioles; and Peter have your people keep an eye on that Mehrens kid that is playing for the S. Cal Rangers, I have been following his progress on line and he definitely has the right stuff, although his team is really struggling.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS & CHARITIES

MS WALK 2010 #33 Judith Mehrens $1,910 Portland
Yes, thats right, 33 out of the top 100.

The American Rights at Work still needs help. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue. E.F.C.A. Especially in light of that mine disaster in West Virginia and those Rig explosions in the Gulf. I watched 60 minutes and as far as I am concerned, now that the Supreme Court has ruled that Corporations must be treated as regular people as far as “Campaign Finance is concerned” shouldn't they be treated as regular people when it comes to Murder or Manslaughter? If two or more people get together to plan and commit a crime isn't that a “conspiracy”; isn't that how they got the MOB?

The U.A. Local 290 “Don Salee” Member Assistance Program.

OTHER STUFF AND COMMUNICATIONS

Those Republican's in D.C. Keep talking about the disaster in the Gulf; the oil spill, as an act of God that couldn't be helped. Do they really believe that God has an office at British Petroleum? I remember them taking that oppressive action when they were pissed at the French by renaming French fries in the Capital Cafeteria to “Freedom Fries”! Now after that oil spill, what are we going to call english muffins? I guess we will have to boycott eggs bendict.

Congratulations to all who will be graduating this year.

The following is my wish for all of you:

****Thank You Mary Ellen****
May love and laughter light your days
And warm your heart and homes
May good and faithful friends be yours wherever you may roam
May peace and plenty bless your world with joy that long endures
May all life's passing seasons bring the best to you and yours

Whether you attend a church service, a Mosque, GLBT gathering, or Synagogue service, please say a prayer that God; yours, mine or ours; keeps our service men and women in the Palm of their hand.

Mike; My blog is 5 pages, and under 2,300 words today, I think. I'll see you next time on my blog.
