PERSONAL:



I awoke today 6am, and awoke to a 2, after 8+- hours of good sleep, but some pain in my hip and put some biofreeze on it and then took my am pills (11) and then came back here to the computer room to get hooked up and check my email, this damn thing would not let me check them yesterday and so far this morning my connection has shown “not connected”, “could not find connection”, a couple others and the right one “millie 3”, but I have my last blog (8-26) saved on my desktop so I will be copying and pasting and then I did take my at B.P. at 7:15am and it was 137/82/53, pretty good considering the the “help” my program keeps giving me and just since I started typing I've received 3 pop-ups to say I am now connected. Judi and Mary are going “Prison Visiting”, today and Judi did say she would try not to disturb me as she was going to get up and shower about 7 today, it's 7:30am now and she just got up but theyshould be back sometime late Wednesday. Sister Danni is supposed to come over today and I will try to make the B.T. Tomorrow and I am going to pick up my bumper stickers Wednesday and even try to make the Jay Inslee function Wednesday evening in Vancouver.


I am still working on correcting mistakes, AND NOT ALL OF THESE ARE MINE YOU KNOW!


IT STILL APPEARS I NEED AN ELECTRICTAN AS THE POWER IN THE KITCHEN IS STILL GONE :-( .




POLITICAL:



I did get an e mail from Senator Merkley that he has introduced a bill that would get Home Mortgages interest rates down to 4%, but he also knows that the Republican controlled house will be holding it hostage until Millionaires get a tax break for all they earn over $250,000, as soon as I get a bill number I will report on it here.


I must also say we have much to do before the November elections, but I will also say, as a life-long Democrat; it does appear we will have a real coordinated campaign this year, and from what everyone is saying, we better. THANK YOU ASHLEY.

I also received a fundraiser letter from Congressman Schrader and I will put his e mail address in here so you can help fight the “Rove Billions” ! And sign his petition to get us out of Afghanistan. And I also understand his lawn signs are ready.

Philosophy:



IF YOU TELL YOURSELF A STORY LONG ENOUGH, PRETTY SOON YOU WILL HAVE YOURSELF BELIEVING IT. I am no longer a smoker !!


No matter how bad you think things are for you, and it pains me to say it, but; it's worse for many others, right here in the so-called “richest” country in the world.



IF WE CONTINUE TO BUY IMPORTS, WHERE WILL OUR CHILDREN WORK? That is a great bumper sticker, and they should be available. for a slight donation; at both the Labor Day and 290 picnics; to help raise funds for L.C.S.A. And the Local 290 Member assistance programs.


I will put the prayers I have been posting again right here up front again, especially for sister Danni, Uncle Hank and now brother Gil. And thank you all for Rhyon, Christopher, cousin Amy, cousin Brandee and soon, nephew Rhett..

Prayer to St. Jude for Eternal Life


You are my solace, St. Jude, in the face of loss and sorrow. I pray that you will guide my heart away from the darkness of fear and into the light of Christ. May the hope that St. Jude keeps alive in my heart be a source of comfort to all those who grieve. For in that hope, we know God's mercy, and we trust God's promise of eternal life. I did return the book to the church library, “BECOMING MORE LIKE CHRIST”; it is a basic guide to daily prayer and meditation and it has been uncanny in the assistance it has given me almost daily. I still think all those, so called, Christians in congress, especially V.P. Candidate Paul Ryan; could use a copy of that book!


I BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST WAS THE FIRST “TRUE” COMMUNIST, BECAUSE I BELIEVE HE WAS THE FIRST TO SAY; EVERYTHING “BELONGS” TO EVERYONE. In that same vain, doesn't that include healthcare?


ARE “ALL” WOMEN & UNION MEMBERS THAT ARE REPUBLICANS JUST STUPID ?”
(rhetorical question), THAT MEANS, I KNOW THE ANSWER.




COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS & CHARITIES:



SAVE THE DATE, OCTOBER 17, FOR AN OREGON NATIONAL GUARD FUNDRAISER, HOLLOWEEN PARTY, 6pm AT THE 290 HALL IN TUALATIN; ALL DONATIONS APPRECIATED, and Dan did pick up a couple items when he dropped his mom off, to ride to the mountain with us on Friday morning, thank you Dean, Gloria and Local 290.


The American Rights at Work still needs help; now more than ever. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, The President?, and our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. And based on what I have been seeing and hearing, the Republicans have Organized Labor directly in their cross hairs and picking Paul Ryan means they are locked and loaded.


The Local 290 “DON SALEE” Member Assistance Program; and you can even make a donation through the U.A. Credit Union, and I did win one of the “BULL SESSION” drawings at the last Union meeting and told Dave S. to give it to Justin May and I did call Ed Ellis to help raise $ for them and I did tell him to use my 1st installment as donation.




UNION REPORT:




LOCAL 290 WILL HAVE A SECTION AT THE OAKS PARK LABOR DAY PICNIC AND I WAS TOLD THEY HAVE OVER 400 SIGNED UP.


AND THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A WELD SHOP FOREMAN, AND I MUST SAY, I AGREED WITH BROTHER DON CARTER THAT MAYBE PUTTING A FEW MORE HOURS ON THE CHECK MAY HELP.

We need to remember Brother Jimmy Walters, Brother Bill Edens (who looked pretty good at the retiree meeting); and Brother Sonny Newsom who are recovering from surgeries and a prayer for Brother Jim Zettlow who lost his battle with Mesothelioma, and brothers Dennis Hutzenbieler and brother Gil Freeland for their speedy and successful recoveries; so please add them to your prayers, and the families of Brothers Jack Sundstrom and Jim Zettlow.




SPORTS:



THE OLYMPIC'S STARTED AND WE HAD ONE OF OUR OWN, AN OREGONIAN GOLD MEDALIST; LEADING THE U.S.A. DELEGATION. U.S.A. U.S.A. ALSO I THINK candidate ro-money got the President a few more votes at the opening ceremony, and I think they agreed on Face The Nation this morning; and why do you suppose all those liberal TV and radio personalities love to bring up the fact that England, France, Germany and most of the rest of the enlightened world has free health care but forget to tell people they also have government's that SUPPORT unions, could one be tied to the other ?


I AM MORE OF AN AMERICAN LEAGUE FAN, ORIOLES & MARINERS, BUT I MUST SAY THE NATIONAL LEAGUE WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE WITH THAT ALL STAR WIN.


JUST WHEN THEY GET IT GOING AT HOME AND HEAD ON THEIR ROAD TRIP THEY HIT A MONSOON IN CHICAGO AND MILLWOOD WAS PITCHING GREAT BUT THEY STILL REALLY STILL NEED MORE RUN SUPPORT, AND IT SURE WILL BE HARDER NOW THAT THE YANKEE'S HAVE STOLEN ICHIRO.
