PERSONAL:



I slept really late today and awoke at 8:30am, and awoke to a 2+, after 8+- hours of sleep. I didn't take my am pills (11) until almost 9:30am, and put some biofreeze on my lower back, and then went back to bed and slept for a couple more hours before I got back up and took my energy drink at about 11am. I went to the Union meeting last night and Gil Freeland wasn't there and we were told he had been taken to the hospital emergency, but I did talk to sister Danni today who checked at the hospital, and apparently he was released last night. I am not sure who, besides me; said a quick prayer; but I am sure there were many. I took my B.P finally at 1:45pm and it was 156/79/64. (I really love all things electronic, NOT!)still trying to make some major changes and I will try to make it to the cricket store before Mass and explain my constant travails). And as you can see already; PROPAGANDA OUT, PHILOSOPHY IN. I think loosening up the new Velcro on my brace is working so good that it helps me get to the 2+'s, because I did a lot of walking yesterday.


I have given up on that “Union for profit Web site”. I did get a face book message from Liz and it sounded like she was having a blast in Philadelphia.


I am still working on correcting mistakes, AND NOT ALL OF THESE ARE MINE YOU KNOW!


IT STILL APPEARS I NEED AN ELECTRICTAN AS THE POWER IN THE KITCHEN IS STILL GONE :-( .



POLITICAL:



They have been “announcing” that Ro-Money, has chosen Paul Ryan as his running mate, that hurts me on at least 2 level's; one, that he claims to be “Irish” and two he claims to be “Catholic”.


We did get our report from the P.A.C. Committee I missed Monday night and ALL their recommendations were concurred with, and I will be reporting on them individually on upcoming blogs.


I did see a couple of reports from Tax professionals that did show how Ro-money might possibly NOT have paid any federal income tax for the last several years. Go get'em Senator Reid !


I did get an e mail from Senator Merkley that he has introduced a bill that would get Home Mortgages interest rates down to 4%, but he also knows that the Republican controlled house will be holding it hostage until Millionaires get a tax break for all they earn over $250,000, as soon as I get a bill number I will report on it here.


I must also say we have much to do before the November elections, but I will also say, as a life-long Democrat; it does appear we will have a real coordinated campaign this year, and from what everyone is saying, we better. THANK YOU ASHLEY.

Philosophy:


No matter how bad you think things are for you, it pains me to say it, but; it's worse for someone else.


IF WE CONTINUE TO BUY IMPORTS, WHERE WILL OUR CHILDREN WORK? That would make a great bumper sticker.


I will put the prayers I have been posting again right here up front again, especially for sister Danni, Uncle Hank and now brother Gil. And thank you all for Rhyon, Christopher, cousin Amy, cousin Brandee and soon, nephew Rhett..

Prayer to St. Jude for Eternal Life


You are my solace, St. Jude, in the face of loss and sorrow. I pray that you will guide my heart away from the darkness of fear and into the light of Christ. May the hope that St. Jude keeps alive in my heart be a source of comfort to all those who grieve. For in that hope, we know God's mercy, and we trust God's promise of eternal life. My soul longs for the fullness of life, which is only to be revealed when I meet my Maker in heaven. Stay by my side, St. Jude, so that my soul will always know the power of your healing love. My daily prayer, is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today. For sister Danni, nephews Steve & Daniel, cousin Dennis, sister Mary and Aunt Mary, Uncle Hank, brother Gil and those who are having health issues; protecting Christopher, Rhyon, Brandee, Amy and Rhett, and all in need, and the repose of the soul of cousin Dan Monahan's sister-in-law, Patricia. We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”


I did return the book to the church library, “BECOMMING MORE LIKE CHRIST”; it is a basic guide to daily prayer and meditation and it has been uncanny in the assistance it has given me almost daily. I still think all those, so called, Christians in congress, especially V.P. Candidate Paul Ryan; could use a copy of that book!


I BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST WAS THE FIRST “TRUE” COMMUNIST, BECAUSE I BELIEVE HE WAS THE FIRST TO SAY; EVERYTHING “BELONGS” TO EVERYONE. In that same vain, doesn't that include healthcare?


ARE “ALL” WOMEN & UNION MEMBERS THAT ARE REPUBLICANS JUST STUPID ?”
(rhetorical question), THAT MEANS, I KNOW THE ANSWER.



COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS & CHARITIES:



SAVE THE DATE, OCTOBER 17, FOR AN OREGON NATIONAL GUARD FUNDRAISER, HOLLOWEEN PARTY, 6pm AT THE HALL IN TUALATIN; ALL DONATIONS APPRECIATED, AND DANIEL;I PICKED ONE UP AT THE UNION MEETING LAST NIGHT :-).


The American Rights at Work still needs help; now more than ever. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, The President?, and our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. And based on what I have been seeing and hearing, the Republicans have Organized Labor directly in their cross hairs and picking Paul Ryan means they are locked and loaded.


The Local 290 “DON SALEE” Member Assistance Program; and you can even make a donation through the U.A. Credit Union, and we did the “BULL SESSION” drawing at the Union meeting last night to help raise $ for them and I did send in my 1st installment, and I did get in touch with Ed Ellis because I will not be able to play in tournament, but I did win one of the drawing's and asked Dave Stahley to give it to brother Justin May, as he has played before as one of my "Wally Catchers".



UNION REPORT:



IT WAS A VERY GOOD MEETING LAST NIGHT, BUT WE DID MIS OUR VICE PRESIDENT AND PRESIDENT, BUT THEIR REPLACEMENT'S DID A SUPERB JOB, CONSIDERING THE LAST MINUTE SCRAMBLING THAT HAD TO BE DONE.


AND IF YOU DIDN'T READ THE LAST MAILING FROM THE LOCAL, THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A WELD SHOP FOREMAN, AND I MUST SAY, I AGREED WITH BROTHER DON CARTER THAT MAYBE PUTTING A FEW MORE HOURS ON THE CHECK MAY HELP. ALSO MAYBE GETTING SOME OF THOSE AFOREMENTION BUMPER STICKERS COULD BE A “PAC?” FUNDRAISER.

We need to remember Brother Jimmy Walters, Brother Bill Edens (who looked pretty good at the retiree meeting); and Brother Sonny Newsom who are recovering from surgeries and a prayer for Brother Jim Zettlow who lost his battle with Mesothelioma, and brothers Dennis Hutzenbieler and brother Gil Freeland for their speedy and successful recoveries; so please add them to your prayers, and the families of Brothers Jack Sundstrom and Jim Zettlow.



SPORTS:



THE OLYMPIC'S STARTED AND WE HAD ONE OF OUR OWN, AN OREGONIAN GOLD MEDALIST; LEADING THE U.S.A. DELEGATION. U.S.A. U.S.A. ALSO I THINK candidate ro-money got the President a few more votes at the opening ceremony, and I think they agreed on Face The Nation this morning; and why do you suppose all those liberal TV and radio personalities love to bring up the fact that England, France, Germany and most of the rest of the enlightened world has free health care but forget to tell people they also have government's that SUPPORT unions, could one be tied to the other ?


I AM MORE OF AN AMERICAN LEAGUE FAN, ORIOLES & MARINERS, BUT I MUST SAY THE NATIONAL LEAGUE WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE WITH THAT ALL STAR WIN.


IT IS TOUGH BEING A MARINERS FAN, THEY STILL REALLY NEED SOME RUN SUPPORT, AND IT SURE WILL BE HARDER NOW THAT THE YANKEE'S HAVE STOLEN ICHIRO, even with that perfect game picture Felix !

DANIEL'S NATIONAL GUARD HOLLOWEEN PARTY, KARA'S WEDDING AND LACEY'S BIRTHDAY'S ARE COMING UP, busy next couple weeks.


WE FOUND OUT AT KARA'S WEDDING SHOWER UNCLE HANK IS NOT DOING SO WELL:-( SO PLEASE KEEP HIM IN YOUR PRAYERS.


I DID GET THE MENRENS MONAHAN BLOG UPDATED, FINALLY, AND I DID E MAIL THE FAMILY MEMBERS WITH WHAT I HAVE AS FAR AS MOST POPULAR NAMES, I HAVE MORE THAN 50; AND I HAVE RECEIVED RESPONSES ALREADY !


OUR CONDOLENCES SHOULD ALL GO OUT TO THE FAMILY OF COUSIN DAN MONAHAN ON THE LOSS OF HIS SISTER-IN-LAW, PATRICIA MONAHAN.
