PERSONAL:



I awoke today 6am, and awoke to a 2, after 8+- hours of good sleep, but some pain in my hip and put some biofreeze on it and then took my am pills (11) and then went back to bed until 9ish. We did receive the bad news of the passing of uncle Hank Burgess, thank you all for your prayers. I am not sure when/if I will post but I am going to be late today, but maybe(?) I will get posted. I spoke with cousin Bill today and he received a text from Kara from Cancun and all was wonderful. She commented on the beautiful Full Moon, which I watched from the south deck while waiting for Judi's call. They are supposed to return tonight but I may not be home, if I can; I am going to try to make the Governor Jay Inslee debate at WSU. Sister Danni is here and working on my bedroom, now that's a chore. I came back here to the computer room to get hooked up, check my email, and take my B.P. BUT this damn thing would not let me check them yesterday BUT so far this afternoon my connection has shown connected. So I will be copying and pasting and my at B.P. Was was 116/78/80, pretty good considering the running I've completed today already. I am going to pick up my bumper stickers Friday and even try to make the Jay Inslee function tonight in Vancouver.


I am still working on correcting mistakes, AND NOT ALL OF THESE ARE MINE YOU KNOW!


IT STILL APPEARS I NEED AN ELECTRICTAN AS THE POWER IN THE KITCHEN IS STILL GONE :-( .



POLITICAL:




I did get to see Senator Merkley Tuesday at Building Trades and thanked him for introducing thet bill that would get Home Mortgages interest rates down to 4%, but he also knows that the Republican controlled house will be holding it hostage until Millionaires get a tax break for all they earn over $250,000, he didn't have a bill number yet, as the Republicans are holding everything hostage but as soon as I get a bill number I will report on it here.


I have been watching the Republican Convention and Hurricane Issac is not the only thing rally blowing in Florida.


I must also say we have much to do before the November elections, but I will also say, as a life-long Democrat; it does appear we will have a real coordinated campaign this year, and from what everyone is saying, we better. THANK YOU ASHLEY.

I also received a fundraiser letter from Congressman Schrader and I will put his e mail address in here so you can help fight the “Rove Billions” ! And sign his petition to get us out of Afghanistan. And I also understand his lawn signs are ready.

No matter how bad you think things are for you, and it pains me to say it, but; it's worse for many others, right here in the so-called “richest” country in the world.

IF YOU CONTINUE TO BUY IMPORTS, WHERE WILL OUR CHILDREN WORK? That is a great bumper sticker, and they will be ready Friday and for a slight donation; at both the Labor Day and 290 picnics; we hope to raise funds for L.C.S.A. and the Local 290 Member assistance programs.

I will put the prayers I have been posting again right here up front again, especially for sister Danni, the repose of the soul of Uncle Hank and now brother Gil. And thank you all for Rhyon, Christopher, cousin Amy, cousin Brandee and soon, nephew Rhett..

ESPECIALLY FOR UNCLE HANK - Prayer to St. Jude for Eternal Life

You are my solace, St. Jude, in the face of loss and sorrow. I pray that you will guide my heart away from the darkness of fear and into the light of Christ. May the hope that St. Jude keeps alive in my heart be a source of comfort to all those who grieve. For in that hope, we know God's mercy, and we trust God's promise of eternal life. My soul longs for the fullness of life, which is only to be revealed when I meet my Maker in heaven. Stay by my side, St. Jude, so that my soul will always know the power of your healing love. Amen.

My daily prayer, is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today. For sister Danni, nephews Steve & Daniel, cousin Dennis, sister Mary and Aunt Mary, brother Gil and those who are having health issues; protecting Christopher, Rhyon, Brandee, Amy and Rhett, and all in need, and the repose of the soul of Uncle Hank Burgess. We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. I did return the book to the church library, “BECOMING MORE LIKE CHRIST”; it is a basic guide to daily prayer and meditation and it has been uncanny in the assistance it has given me almost daily. I still think all those, so called, Christians in congress, especially V.P. Candidate Paul Ryan; could use a copy of that book!


I BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST WAS THE FIRST “TRUE” COMMUNIST, BECAUSE I BELIEVE HE WAS THE FIRST TO SAY; EVERYTHING “BELONGS” TO EVERYONE. In that same vain, doesn't that include healthcare?


ARE “ALL” WOMEN & UNION MEMBERS THAT ARE REPUBLICANS JUST STUPID ?”
(rhetorical question), THAT MEANS, I KNOW THE ANSWER.




COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS & CHARITIES:



SAVE THE DATE, OCTOBER 17, FOR AN OREGON NATIONAL GUARD FUNDRAISER, HOLLOWEEN PARTY, 6pm AT THE 290 HALL IN TUALATIN; ALL DONATIONS APPRECIATED, and the responses seem to be coming in good.

The American Rights at Work still needs help; now more than ever. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, The President?, and our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. And based on what I have been seeing and hearing, the Republicans have Organized Labor directly in their cross hairs and picking Paul Ryan means they are locked and loaded.


The Local 290 “DON SALEE” Member Assistance Program; and you can even make a donation through the U.A. Credit Union, and I did win one of the “BULL SESSION” drawings at the last Union meeting and told Dave S. to give it to Justin May and I did call Ed Ellis to help raise $ for them and I did tell him to use my 1st installment as donation.




UNION REPORT:



LOCAL 290 WILL HAVE A SECTION AT THE OAKS PARK LABOR DAY PICNIC AND I WAS TOLD THEY HAVE OVER 400 SIGNED UP, AND WE WILL HAVE THE AFOREMENTIONED BUMPER STICKERS.


AND THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A WELD SHOP FOREMAN, AND I MUST SAY, I AGREED WITH BROTHER DON CARTER THAT MAYBE PUTTING A FEW MORE HOURS ON THE CHECK MAY HELP.

We need to remember Brother Jimmy Walters, Brother Bill Edens (who looked pretty good at the retiree meeting); and Brother Sonny Newsom who are recovering from surgeries and a prayer for Brother Jim Zettlow who lost his battle with Mesothelioma, and brothers Dennis Hutzenbieler and brother Gil Freeland for their speedy and successful recoveries; so please add them to your prayers, and the families of Brothers Jack Sundstrom and Jim Zettlow.

ALSO I THINK candidate ro-money got the President a few more votes at the opening ceremony, and I think they agreed on Face The Nation this morning; and why do you suppose all those liberal TV and radio personalities love to bring up the fact that England, France, Germany and most of the rest of the enlightened world has free health care but forget to tell people they also have government's that SUPPORT unions, could one be tied to the other ?
