I slept in this until 10am after 10+- hours of sleep and awoke to a 3, and took my am pills. The change continues. I did get an email from one of the brothers about the “carpenters” raiding the U.A. On a job in Longview, and and I can't help but believe Jim Francesconi is somewhere behind it also, I placed the information in my Local Union Report. I slept late because we had a “dice game gathering” with some relatives that was fun, but lasted a little late so I don't know when I will be posting because we are going to Marty and Kelly's for our monthly family BBQ and stopping by Gloria'z for their T.V. Gatherings. I still haven't had time to update my “Rat Patrol” blog, but I did get things square for our “silent auction” for Al at Gloria'z on the 29th and would ask all that can, to attend and even bring something for the auction. I did get some bad news yesterday just before posting from brother Mike, good friend and brother R.B. Gilcrease passed away, so please add him to your prayers also. The CPBT is canceled next week so I will have more time, so maybe later I can update “My Rat Patrol” blog, and now that I am back on my regular schedule to Monday, Wednesday and Friday; (My Mehrens/Monahan) blog Thursday and Saturday; and (The O.R.T.- Now Wally's Rat Patrol) Blog Tuesday and (whatever) on Sunday. I did send around that Wikipedia site on Monahans Texas that Judi found for me and I am not having any luck checking with cousin Dan to see if he got it. I am still wondering if we were Apache or Comanche and I am wondering if we have any claims to that West Texas Oil? I did find it interesting that the “founder” of Monahans Texas's name was a John Monahan and he worked for the railroad (SPOOKY). The “WALL STREET, BANKSTERS demonstrations continue, and it looks like a good turnouts continues here in Portland, I still hope someone takes many voter registration cards with them.

POLITICAL:

The Demonstrations in N.Y. City against the Banksters are absolutely great ! And there is a lot of buzz on line about what many are doing to get even with them, some of which sound pretty good. I did see that the demonstrations continue, all over the country. YEA !!

I still think we need a few OREGONIANS on Father McManus's “Congressional Friends” list. We must never forget the Ballymurphy Massacre of 1971, (40 years searching for justice). We need to realize along with a number of Irish Catholic's, including a priest that were assassinated that day there were also a number of Northern Irish Protestants. This battle for justice that is being waged here in the U.S.A. by father McManus is also being waged in Belfast Northern Ireland by a heroic Belfast protestant named Raymond McCord Sr., whose son was also assassinated. I have received Father McManus's book and it was signed by our New Assistant G.P., and I now have a better understanding of commissioner Fritz's racist Animosity towards the Irish. I did send Father McManus a check to join his efforts and he sent me a thank you and I am now a Congressional friend of Father McManus, and I need to get 2 more for Brother brothers Holmes.

SPORTS:

I did see that the Portland Timbers are selling individual tickets, and maybe we (AOH) can get an “Irish Appreciation Night fundraiser at Jeld Wen field?

My baseball reports will be limited to, the Playoffs now that my Orioles knocked out the Red Sox :-), GO DETROIT, GO CARDINALS; and just wait till next year for the Cubs.

UA local 26 has reviewed certified payroll for the job and Carpenters are listed on time sheets as Carpenter foreman/pipe assembler. In addition there ...is a large gap in the amount of pipe that has been put into the ground and the reported man hours that would fall under the prevailing wage Pipefitter\Plumber scope of work. Last night 20 or so of us went to the Longview City Council meeting and expressed our concerns on these very topics to the city manager and council persons. This coming Monday Oct 17th starting at 6:00 AM we are going to assemble in front of the jobsite located at the end of Weber Ave, in the Longview Mint Farm.
