PERSONAL:



I awoke this morning to my alarm at 6:15am, and took my am pills. (11), and then went back to bed until almost 11am and awoke to a 3. I took my B.P. at about 11:15am and it was 126/71/55. I slept late because of the Union meeting and probably awoke to a 3 because I did get my 3 resolutions finished, printed and to the meeting last night, and all 3 passed without a no vote. Marty did say he was going to try to make it, but something came up I guess; but I did get to talk with the journeyman that had him as a starting apprentice that told me he taught him the old school ways of pipe fitting and how to lay out a saddle with just a sheet of paper and how to do a rolling off set and how proud he was of the mechanic he has become. Oh yeah, they also surprised me with my 40 year membership certificate and pin, and Al was kind enough to let cousin Bill present it to me, sister Clare took a picture and I sure hope I can get a copy. I still have to check out on line those new I Pads, as I have a friend who swears by hers, although Judi is concerned because it is a Mac and a whole new language. I am not sure when I will post, but it will (hopefully) be shortly after noon. I am going to try to make Mass tonight and respond to a couple of e mails I have receive from the church.


I am still working on correcting mistakes, AND NOT ALL OF THESE ARE MINE YOU KNOW!

IT STILL APPEARS I NEED AN ELECTRICTAN AS THE POWER IN THE KITCHEN IS STILL GONE :-( .




POLITICAL:



SENATOR WYDEN, WE STILL NEED THOSE GOOD UNION JOBS ON THE PIPELINE AND COAL TERMINALS ! AND THE PORTLAND CITY COUNCIL COULD SURE STOP TRYING TO SLOW EVERYTHING DOWN, MANY OF THOSE GOOD JOBS WOULD ACTUALLY GO TO MEN AND WOMEN IN NORTH PORTLAND AMANDA ! I had a good conversation Tuesday at B.T. With Barbara Smith Warner and she told me Senator Wyden would be in town in October and I will see if we can maybe get him out to the hall.


I did get to the old NWOLC building on Se 12th and Madison to Obama Biden H.Q. and got 4 lawn signs, but they wanted a $60 donation being they generally only give them out Monday's, Wednesday's and Saturdays, but after a little discussion, and the $60 bucks cash I got my four, and then as luck would have it they were giving them away at the Union meeting and even though I didn't make the P.A.C. meeting they did endorse Charlie Hales for Portland Mayor and Charlotte Lehan in Clackamas County.


I must also say we have much to do before the November elections, but I will also say, as a life-long Democrat; it does appear we will have a real coordinated campaign this year, and from what everyone is saying, we better. THANK YOU ASHLEY.

I received a fundraiser letter from Congressman Schrader and I will put his e mail address in here so you can help fight the “Rove Billions” ! And sign his petition to get us out of Afghanistan. And I also understand his lawn signs are ready.

No matter how bad you think things are for you, and it pains me to say it, but; it's worse for many others, right here in the so-called “richest” country in the world, and it will be worse under a ro-money/ryan presidency.


I will put the prayers I have been posting again right here up front again, especially the repose of the soul of Uncle Hank, and for sister Danni. And thank you all for Rhyon, Christopher, cousin Amy, cousin Brandee and soon, nephew Rhett..

I did return the book to the church library, “BECOMING MORE LIKE CHRIST”; it is a basic guide to daily prayer and meditation and it has been uncanny in the assistance it has given me almost daily. I still think all those, so called, Christians in congress, especially V.P. Candidate Paul Ryan; could use a copy of that book!


I BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST WAS THE FIRST “TRUE” COMMUNIST, BECAUSE I BELIEVE HE WAS THE FIRST TO SAY; EVERYTHING “BELONGS” TO EVERYONE. In that same vain, doesn't that include healthcare?


ARE “ALL” WOMEN & UNION MEMBERS THAT ARE REPUBLICANS JUST STUPID ?”
(rhetorical question), THAT MEANS, I KNOW THE ANSWER.




COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS & CHARITIES:



SAVE THE DATE, OCTOBER 27, FOR AN OREGON NATIONAL GUARD FUNDRAISER, HOLLOWEEN PARTY, 6pm AT THE 290 HALL IN TUALATIN; ALL DONATIONS APPRECIATED, and the responses seem to be coming in good.


The American Rights at Work still needs help; now more than ever. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, The President, and our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. And based on what I have been seeing and hearing, the Republicans have Organized Labor directly in their cross hairs and picking Paul Ryan means they are locked and loaded.


The Local 290 “DON SALEE” Member Assistance Program; they had the gun drawing last night and alas I didn't win but you can make a donation at the U.A. Credit Union.




UNION REPORT:


UNION MEETING LAST NIGHT WAS AWESOME, AND WELL IT GOT OVER EARLIER THAN LATELY I MUST SAY, THE B.B.Q. WAS GREAT AN I AM PRETTY SURE IT IS WHY, WHILE I SLEPT POST NAP UNTIL ELEVEN I AWOKE TO A THREE, AND THANK YOU AL, FOR LETTING COUSIN BILL PRSENT MY PIN.
