***ON MEETING TONIGHT***

SEPTEMBER 21, 2012




PERSONAL:



I awoke this morning at a little after 7am, and took my am pills. (10) I then attempted to make an appointment with my kaiser primary care Dr, by phone because the email attempt two days ago told me I had to call for one, so I called this morning and she was out so I will be seeing a new Dr. on Monday afternoon. I took my B.P. at about 9am and it was 156/85/63, pre-kaiser phone call. I am posting (I hope) early because I have some running to do before my Union meeting tonight and a couple of resolutions to finish writing. Busy week today, the 290 picnic Sunday, then the CPBT and AOH Tuesday, The Portland City Council Wednesday and then the retiree meeting yesterday and the regular Union meeting tonight. I am working on 3 resolutions for tonight, one to thank all the VOLUNTEERS, and to thank one in particular, and one to honor the retiree couple that has been working so hard on the Local 290 archives. I am also going to check out on line those new I Pads, as she swears by hers, although Judi is concerned because it is a Mac and a whole new language.


I am still working on correcting mistakes, AND NOT ALL OF THESE ARE MINE YOU KNOW!


IT STILL APPEARS I NEED AN ELECTRICTAN AS THE POWER IN THE KITCHEN IS STILL GONE :-( .




POLITICAL:



SENATOR WYDEN, WE STILL NEED THOSE GOOD UNION JOBS ON THE PIPELINE AND COAL TERMINALS ! AND THE PORTLAND CITY COUNCIL COULD SURE STOP TRYING TO SLOW EVERYTHING DOWN, MANY OF THOSE GOOD JOBS WOULD ACTUALLY GO TO MEN AND WOMEN IN NORTH PORTLAND AMANDA !


I will also try to get to the old NWOLC building on Se 12th and Madison to Obama Biden H.Q. and get some lawn signs.

I must also say we have much to do before the November elections, but I will also say, as a life-long Democrat; it does appear we will have a real coordinated campaign this year, and from what everyone is saying, we better. THANK YOU ASHLEY.

I received a fundraiser letter from Congressman Schrader and I will put his e mail address in here so you can help fight the “Rove Billions” ! And sign his petition to get us out of Afghanistan. And I also understand his lawn signs are ready.

JUDI DID FIND ME A COOL IRISH SAYINGS BOOK THAT I WILL START ADDING HERE.


I will try to change them at least ever few weeks, but her is the first:

If we keep buying imports, where will our children work ?

IF YOU TELL YOURSELF A STORY LONG ENOUGH, PRETTY SOON YOU WILL HAVE YOURSELF BELIEVING IT. I am no longer a smoker !!

If other people think you are crazy, is it possible you could be ?

Is it easier to lie after that first one ?

How many people have been murdered over the centuries in the name of religion, especially so many that PROFESS they have a peaceful foundation ?

No matter how bad you think things are for you, and it pains me to say it, but; it's worse for many others, right here in the so-called “richest” country in the world, and it will be worse under a ro-money/ryan presidency.

I will put the prayers I have been posting again right here up front again, especially the repose of the soul of Uncle Hank, and for sister Danni, brother Gil. And thank you all for Rhyon, Christopher, cousin Amy, cousin Brandee and soon, nephew Rhett..

My daily prayer, is to Mary Mother of God…..”O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our prayer. As your children we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today. For sister Danni, nephews Steve & Daniel, cousin Dennis, sister Mary and Aunt Mary, brother Gil and those who are having health issues; protecting Christopher, Rhyon, Brandee, Amy and Rhett, and all in need, and the repose of the soul of Uncle Hank Burgess. We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help ALL of us, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever, Amen.”

I did return the book to the church library, “BECOMING MORE LIKE CHRIST”; it is a basic guide to daily prayer and meditation and it has been uncanny in the assistance it has given me almost daily. I still think all those, so called, Christians in congress, especially V.P. Candidate Paul Ryan; could use a copy of that book!

I BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST WAS THE FIRST “TRUE” COMMUNIST, BECAUSE I BELIEVE HE WAS THE FIRST TO SAY; EVERYTHING “BELONGS” TO EVERYONE. In that same vain, doesn't that include healthcare?

ARE “ALL” WOMEN & UNION MEMBERS THAT ARE REPUBLICANS JUST STUPID ?”
(rhetorical question), THAT MEANS, I KNOW THE ANSWER.




COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS & CHARITIES:



SAVE THE DATE, OCTOBER 27, FOR AN OREGON NATIONAL GUARD FUNDRAISER, HOLLOWEEN PARTY, 6pm AT THE 290 HALL IN TUALATIN; ALL DONATIONS APPRECIATED, and the responses seem to be coming in good.

The American Rights at Work still needs help; now more than ever. We must not take our eye off that MAIN issue, The President?, and our two Senators haven't; E.F.C.A. And based on what I have been seeing and hearing, the Republicans have Organized Labor directly in their cross hairs and picking Paul Ryan means they are locked and loaded.

We need to remember Brothers Jimmy Walters, Brother Bill Edens, brother Dennis Hutzenbieler, (who looked pretty good at Kara's wedding and the picnic), Brother Sonny Newsom, brother Gil Freeland for their speedy and successful recoveries who are recovering from surgeries, and I saw Gil Labor Day and the picnic he looked great.

MY ORIOLES BEAT SEATTLE AND ARE GIVING THOSE “DAMN YANKEES” A REAL RUN FOR THE PENNENT, SURE HOPE THEY KEEP ROLLING.

I DID UPDATE THE MEHRENS MONAHAN BLOG BUT FORGOT TO PUT IN THE PRAYER TO SAINT JUDE FOR UNCLE HANK.


THE A.O.H. MEETING AT THE NEW KELL'S BREW PUB, WAS A BIT OF A LETDOWN FOR ME, BUT I DID GET DANIELS HOLLOWEEN PARTY INFORMATION OUT.


I DID UPDATE THE MENRENS MONAHAN BLOG, AND I DID E MAIL THE FAMILY MEMBERS WITH WHAT I HAVE AS FAR AS MOST POPULAR NAMES, I HAVE RECEIVED MORE THAN 50 RESPONSES ALREADY !


It still appears I am one of the few “followers” on most of my blogs !
